Models and engine choices

The Canadian Yukon range comprises Elevation, AT4, Denali, AT4 Ultimate and Denali Ultimate. The longer Yukon XL is a separate body choice. Elevation emphasizes core equipment, AT4 adds off-road hardware, and AT4 Ultimate combines that equipment with additional comfort and technology. Denali and Denali Ultimate offer different luxury interiors and wheel specifications.

The AT4 Ultimate’s standard 6.2-litre V8 produces 420 hp and 460 lb-ft, with a ten-speed automatic. The available 3.0-litre Duramax turbo-diesel inline-six produces 305 hp and 495 lb-ft, also with a ten-speed automatic. Both Canadian AT4 Ultimate powertrains use four-wheel drive. The 5.3-litre V8 found on Elevation and the regular AT4 is not the AT4 Ultimate’s standard engine.

AT4 Ultimate exterior and hardware

The trim uses 20-inch machined wheels with Talos Bronze Metallic accents and all-terrain tires, red front recovery hooks and a front skid plate. Power-retractable running boards include perimeter lighting, and the AutoSense power liftgate can detect the key fob nearby.

Its mechanical equipment includes an Autotrac two-speed transfer case, electronic limited-slip rear differential, Magnetic Ride Control and four-corner Adaptive Air Ride suspension. The air system provides height adjustment and automatic load levelling. These are equipment descriptions; the video walkaround below supplies the visual context for the vehicle.

Seating, interior and cargo

Third-row seating and headrests of the 2026 GMC Yukon AT4 Ultimate

The standard AT4 Ultimate layout has seven seats: two front buckets, two second-row captain’s chairs and a three-person third-row bench. GMC’s “up to eight” Yukon headline applies to configurations with a second-row bench elsewhere in the range and should not be used as the seating count for this standard Ultimate layout.

Obsidian Rush full-grain leather, 16-way power front seats with massage, heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats and a heated steering wheel distinguish the cabin. It also includes a panoramic power sunroof, tri-zone climate control and a power-sliding centre console. The rear climate controls use an eight-inch touchscreen.

The second-row buckets can release and tumble, while the 60/40 third-row bench folds electrically to expand cargo space. The console can move rearward by up to 254 mm to uncover storage. Buyers needing extra luggage room with the third row occupied should compare the longer Yukon XL, rather than using XL cargo figures for the regular Yukon.

Infotainment and rear entertainment

A 16.8-inch central touchscreen supports Google built-in compatibility, wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. An 11-inch digital driver display and 15-inch head-up display provide vehicle information. The standard 18-speaker Bose Performance Series system includes front head-restraint speakers, and a wireless phone charger is listed.

The Canadian AT4 Ultimate equipment list includes rear-seat entertainment with two 12.6-inch touchscreens and HDMI connections. An important production note says vehicles built from August 2026 omit the two supplied Bluetooth headphones. The screens remain listed, but buyers should inspect the individual window label rather than assume headphones are included. Connected apps, hotspot data and some Google functions depend on service plans.

Safety and driver assistance

Standard equipment includes enhanced automatic emergency braking, intersection emergency braking, forward collision alert, front pedestrian/bicyclist braking, blind-zone steering assistance with trailering, reverse automatic braking and rear cross-traffic braking. HD Surround Vision, enhanced automatic parking assistance, rear pedestrian alert, side bicyclist alert, traffic-sign recognition and a vibrating Safety Alert Seat add further assistance.

Adaptive cruise control and Super Cruise capability with a three-year OnStar One plan are included on AT4 Ultimate. Super Cruise operates only on compatible roads and requires an active trial or subscription; the driver must remain attentive. Night Vision is available on this trim, rather than universally standard. Seven airbags, child-seat anchors and rear child-door locks are listed.

Towing and payload

The AT4 Ultimate equipment list includes a trailering receiver, seven-pin wiring and an integrated trailer-brake controller. Hitch Guidance and Hitch View help with trailer hookup, and trailer sway control is included. Additional camera views can depend on compatible accessories.

Do not apply the Yukon range’s maximum towing headline automatically to AT4 Ultimate. The engine, body length and equipment affect the rating. Before selecting a trailer, check the VIN-specific trailering information and door-jamb payload label, allowing for passengers, luggage and trailer tongue weight. Air suspension can level the vehicle but does not increase its certified weight limits.

Fuel economy

NRCan lists the 2026 Yukon 4WD with the 6.2-litre V8 at 16.6 city / 13.0 highway / 15.0 combined L/100 km, using premium gasoline. The 3.0-litre diesel is rated at 11.5 city / 9.7 highway / 10.7 combined L/100 km. These are engine/drivetrain ratings, not a separate test of the video vehicle. Towing, tires, load and weather can change actual consumption.

Canadian pricing

GMC’s Ontario trim selector displayed AT4 Ultimate “MSRP from” C$136,652 with the 6.2-litre V8 and C$134,258 with the 3.0-litre Duramax. These are the builder’s displayed starting amounts, not a quote for the reviewed vehicle. Colour, additional options, dealer charges and applicable taxes can change the total; compare itemized written offers.

Compare seating layouts, cargo space with all rows occupied, towing documentation, fuel costs and option packages. Within GMC’s range, the regular AT4 is useful for buyers who want its basic off-road hardware without every Ultimate cabin feature.

Frequently asked questions

Does Yukon AT4 Ultimate seat eight?

Its standard layout seats seven, with second-row captain’s chairs. The Yukon range’s eight-seat headline refers to bench-equipped configurations elsewhere in the lineup.

Is the 5.3-litre V8 standard on AT4 Ultimate?

No. AT4 Ultimate starts with a 6.2-litre V8 rated at 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. An available 3.0-litre Duramax diesel provides 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft.

Does air suspension increase the Yukon’s towing rating?

No. Air suspension can adjust and level the vehicle, but certified towing and payload limits still depend on the exact engine, body and equipment configuration. Check the actual vehicle’s trailering information.
