The 2026 GMC Yukon AT4 combines a three-row cabin with four-wheel drive, a two-speed transfer case and specific off-road equipment. It also includes leather, heated and ventilated front seats, Magnetic Ride Control and a large infotainment display. Its equipment list leaves several premium features as options, so the exact package matters as much as the AT4 badge.
This guide covers the standard-length Yukon AT4, using the 5.3-litre V8 configuration as the baseline for pricing and towing. Canadian specifications and CAD prices appear throughout. Yukon XL offers more cargo space, while AT4 Ultimate adds a different level of luxury equipment.
Models and seating configurations
The 2026 Yukon range includes Elevation, AT4, Denali, AT4 Ultimate and Denali Ultimate. Buyers can also choose the longer Yukon XL. AT4 combines off-road hardware with a substantial comfort specification, while the Ultimate version adds equipment beyond the regular AT4.
The regular AT4 seats eight with its standard second-row bench. Its layout is two front bucket seats, a three-person second row and a three-person third row. Optional second-row bucket seats create a seven-seat layout. The Technology Package includes those buckets, so checking a package can also change passenger capacity.
An available eight-passenger premium off-road package retains the bench while adding upgrades. Choose the actual seat configuration before comparing quotes or deciding whether the vehicle can carry your family. Eight seats are not automatic across every AT4 or Yukon trim.
Engine specifications

Standard 5.3-litre V8: 355 hp at 5,600 rpm and 383 lb-ft at 4,100 rpm. It uses direct injection, variable valve timing and Dynamic Fuel Management. A ten-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive accompany this engine in the reviewed AT4 configuration.
Available 6.2-litre V8: 420 hp and 460 lb-ft, with a ten-speed automatic. The larger gasoline engine carries a higher price and premium-gasoline fuel ratings. Available 3.0-litre Duramax turbo-diesel: 305 hp and 495 lb-ft with a ten-speed automatic. Diesel selection can require additional equipment, so its final price is more than a simple engine comparison.
There is no hybrid powertrain in this Yukon lineup. The steering-column electronic gear selector leaves room for the front console. When comparing engines, consider official fuel consumption, the relevant fuel price, the equipment required and the towing rating of the exact configuration.
AT4 hardware and suspension
Standard AT4 equipment includes a high-approach-angle front fascia, red recovery hooks, a front skid plate, a heavy-duty air filter and 20-inch machined wheels with Carbon Flash Metallic paint. All-terrain tires, a two-speed Autotrac transfer case, a mechanical limited-slip rear differential and Hill Descent Control support the trim’s specification.
Magnetic Ride Control is standard. Adaptive Air Ride suspension and an electronic limited-slip differential are optional through packages such as Premium Capability with Active Response 4WD. These systems are distinct from the standard suspension and rear differential. They should appear on the equipment list if you want them.
Towing and payload
GMC’s configurator lists 7,700 lb of maximum trailering for the selected 5.3-litre AT4 4WD example. This is a configuration-specific figure. A larger Yukon lineup maximum should not be applied to every AT4 or engine choice.
Standard trailering equipment includes a hitch platform, a two-inch receiver, wiring with a seven-pin connector and Hitch Guidance. The optional Max Trailering equipment adds features such as an integrated trailer brake controller and Hitch View. Other towing packages can include air suspension, an electronic rear differential and additional camera provisions.
Review the final engine, axle, suspension and trailering package together. Passengers, cargo, accessories and trailer tongue weight use payload capacity, so check the individual vehicle’s loading label rather than a generic online maximum. Additional trailer camera functions also depend on the necessary cameras and equipment.
Fuel economy
Natural Resources Canada lists the following general 2026 Yukon 4WD ratings in L/100 km: 5.3-litre V8: 15.8 city, 12.2 highway and 14.2 combined; 6.2-litre V8: 16.6 city, 13.0 highway and 15.0 combined; 3.0-litre diesel: 11.5 city, 9.7 highway and 10.7 combined.
The 5.3-litre entry uses regular gasoline, the 6.2-litre entry lists premium gasoline and the Duramax uses diesel. These are Yukon 4WD ratings, not separate AT4-only test results. Confirm the vehicle’s EnerGuide label, particularly when comparing wheel, tire or equipment configurations. Yukon XL has its own entries.
Cold weather, short trips, idling and towing can increase consumption beyond the laboratory figures. The diesel has the lowest listed combined consumption, but purchase price and local fuel costs also matter when comparing long-term expenses.
Interior and cargo flexibility

Perforated leather seating surfaces come in Forest Storm with Mahogany accents in the selected AT4. Standard equipment includes eight-way power front seats with power lumbar adjustment, front-seat heating and ventilation, heated second-row outboard seats, a heated steering wheel and driver memory.
A power tilt-and-telescoping steering column, tri-zone automatic climate control, rear air conditioning and remote start add convenience. The power-release second-row bench folds and tumbles for access, while the third-row bench power-folds in a 60/40 split. Folding rear seats creates more room for bulky cargo.
The standard-length Yukon offers a different balance of overall size and luggage room from Yukon XL. If you regularly use every seat, compare cargo space behind the third row rather than only a maximum figure with all rear seats folded. A standard AutoSense power liftgate includes programmable opening height.
A panoramic sunroof, power-retractable assist steps and a power-sliding centre console are optional. The regular AT4 also has a different seat and audio specification from AT4 Ultimate. Do not assume the Ultimate model’s massaging seats or premium upgrades are included with the regular AT4.

Infotainment and connectivity

The standard 16.8-inch portrait-oriented display includes Google built-in compatibility, navigation capability and access to vehicle and climate settings. An 11-inch digital Driver Information Centre displays key information. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support compatible phones.
A ten-speaker Bose CenterPoint surround system, wireless phone charging, USB connections and two 120-volt outlets are standard. The outlets sit at the rear of the console and in the cargo area. Apps, Wi-Fi and connected functions can require service plans and compatible network coverage.
The optional Technology Package adds a 15-inch head-up display, a Rear Camera Mirror, second-row bucket seats, a power-sliding console and additional security equipment. The standard inside mirror is a conventional auto-dimming mirror. Rear-seat entertainment is another option. An interior camera is listed with a future software-update requirement, so confirm its activation status.
Safety and driver assistance

The standard AT4 specification includes Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking, Forward Collision Alert and enhanced Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning. Adaptive Cruise Control and IntelliBeam automatic high beams are also included.
HD Surround Vision, Blind Zone Steering Assist, Reverse Automatic Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Rear Pedestrian Alert and Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist provide further assistance. Side Bicyclist Alert, Traffic Sign Recognition and a vibrating Safety Alert Seat are part of the specification.
Seven airbags, stability control, trailer sway control, a rear-seat reminder, child-seat anchors and Teen Driver complete important parts of the safety equipment. Assistance systems still require an attentive driver and have operating limits.
Super Cruise is optional and requires a package on the regular AT4. It allows hands-free assistance on compatible roads with driver monitoring and an active trial or subscription. Confirm its inclusion and service terms on the final quote. Its availability on a higher Yukon trim does not make it standard here.
Pricing in CAD
The 5.3-litre Yukon AT4 showed a standard vehicle price of $99,499. Freight of $2,700, air-conditioning tax of $100 and displayed Ontario dealer and regulatory fees brought the amount to $103,042.50 before sales tax and luxury tax. The configurator added an estimated $609 luxury tax for a displayed net price of $103,651.50 before sales tax.
The trim selector showed approximately $107,480 for the 6.2-litre and $117,020 for the diesel configuration, including its displayed fees and estimated luxury tax. Those figures depend on the selected equipment and required packages. Treat them as a dated comparison, not a guaranteed transaction price.
Listed upgrades included Technology at $2,415, Premium Trailering at $2,610, AT4 Premium at $5,595, AT4 Preferred at $6,090 and AT4 Premium Plus at $10,170. The eight-passenger premium off-road package listed $10,005. Package dependencies and luxury tax can change the final total, so compare written quotes for the same seat and engine configuration.
Competition
Chevrolet Tahoe Z71 is a closely related alternative with a different equipment structure. Ford Expedition Tremor, Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro and Nissan Armada’s off-road-focused versions provide other three-row choices. Compare actual seating, cargo space with all seats occupied, engine requirements and configuration-specific towing figures.
Within GMC’s range, Elevation may meet the need for a roomy family SUV, while AT4 Ultimate adds luxury equipment. Yukon XL is worth comparing when luggage space behind the third row matters more than overall length. Browse our other SUV reviews for more choices.
