2026 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali: Specs, Features & Pricing

The 2026 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali combines a premium five-seat cabin with three available engines, standard Adaptive Ride Control and extensive safety equipment. GMC includes leather seating, large digital displays and the MultiPro Tailgate. Its standard 5.3-litre V8 produces 355 horsepower, while diesel and 6.2-litre V8 options broaden the choices.

The Sierra Denali is a separate trim from Denali Ultimate. Features such as the head-up display and Super Cruise require optional equipment on the regular Denali. This guide covers a Crew Cab short-bed 4WD reference configuration using Canadian specifications. All prices are in CAD.

Available Sierra models

The Sierra 1500 range includes Pro, Pro Graphite, SLE, Elevation, SLT, AT4, Denali, AT4X and Denali Ultimate offerings. Cab, bed and engine availability vary. AT4 and AT4X emphasize off-road equipment, while Denali and Denali Ultimate focus on premium appointments. Sierra HD and Sierra EV belong to separate model ranges.

Sierra Denali engine specifications

The standard 5.3-litre EcoTec3 V8 makes 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. The optional 3.0-litre Duramax turbo-diesel inline-six produces 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft. The available 6.2-litre EcoTec3 V8 delivers 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft. All three use a ten-speed automatic transmission.

The reference 4WD Denali includes a two-speed Autotrac transfer case and an automatic locking rear differential. Denali Premium Suspension uses Adaptive Ride Control to adjust damping. This equipment differs from the lifted suspension and Multimatic DSSV hardware on the AT4X.

Towing and payload

MultiPro tailgate configuration of the 2026 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali

GMC’s configurator lists 9,200 lb of maximum trailering for the standard 5.3-litre Crew Cab short-bed Denali 4WD checked for this article. This rating applies to the selected engine, axle and equipment combination. A larger Sierra-family maximum should not be applied to every Denali.

Standard equipment includes a Trailering Package, two-inch receiver, four- and seven-pin connectors and an integrated trailer brake controller. Hitch Guidance, Hitch View and an in-vehicle Trailering App are also listed. HD Surround Vision and a Bed View Camera assist with visibility, while certain trailer-camera views require auxiliary cameras.

Check the completed truck’s payload label and VIN-specific trailering information. Passengers, accessories, cargo and trailer tongue weight all consume payload. The remaining capacity of a loaded truck matters when matching a trailer.

Fuel economy

Natural Resources Canada rates the regular 2026 Sierra 4WD 5.3-litre entry at 15.9 L/100 km city, 13.0 highway and 14.6 combined. The regular diesel 4WD entry is 10.7 city, 9.3 highway and 10.1 combined.

The regular 6.2-litre Sierra 4WD entry is 16.0 L/100 km city, 12.1 highway and 14.3 combined. The guide lists regular gasoline for the 5.3-litre engine and premium gasoline for the 6.2-litre engine. Separate entries cover other tire or powertrain configurations. Match the actual truck’s EnerGuide label, since load, towing, weather and trip patterns change consumption.

Interior and seating

Front bucket seats and a three-person rear bench provide seating for five. Forge perforated leather seat trim, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats and a heated steering wheel are standard.

Both front seats have power adjustment with lumbar support. Driver memory, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering column, remote start and keyless access add convenience. Dual-zone automatic climate control and rear air vents serve the cabin.

The rear bench folds in a 60/40 split and includes seatback storage, underseat storage and a folding centre armrest. A front console provides cupholders and space for smaller items. GMC also includes a power sliding rear window and rear defogger. A sunroof and power-retractable steps require optional equipment.

Infotainment and technology

The standard 13.4-inch GMC Premium Infotainment touchscreen includes Google built-in compatibility, wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. A 12.3-inch digital Driver Information Centre supplies configurable vehicle information.

A Bose seven-speaker system with a Richbass woofer, wireless phone charging and USB connections are included. In addition, 120-volt outlets supply power in the cabin and pickup bed. Connected apps, navigation, Wi-Fi and subscription entertainment depend on compatible devices, coverage and applicable service plans.

The optional Technology Package adds a Rear Camera Mirror and head-up display. The standard mirror is auto-dimming. These optional features should not be described as standard on every Sierra Denali.

Safety and driver assistance

Standard equipment includes Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, Following Distance Indicator, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning and IntelliBeam automatic high beams.

The Sierra Denali also includes adaptive cruise control, HD Surround Vision, a Bed View Camera, Front and Rear Park Assist and Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert. Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Rear Pedestrian Alert and a vibrating Safety Alert Seat broaden the assistance list.

Six airbags, stability control with trailer sway control, Hill Start Assist, tire-pressure monitoring, a rear-seat reminder and rear seat-belt indicators are listed. Driver assistance has operating limits and requires an attentive driver.

Super Cruise is optional on Sierra Denali, with a Denali Reserve Super Cruise Package offered in the configurator. Hands-free functions apply only under supported conditions on compatible roads. Confirm the included equipment and connected-service term on the truck being purchased.

Exterior and pickup bed

Standard equipment includes 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, all-terrain tires, chrome full-length assist steps and heated power-folding mirrors. LED headlamps, fog lamps, signature tail lamps and rain-sensing wipers are also listed.

The GMC MultiPro Tailgate provides six configurations for access and loading. A spray-on bedliner, fixed tie-downs, cargo-bed LED lighting and a CornerStep rear bumper are included. Check bed length and accessory fit against the items you need to carry.

CAD pricing and packages

GMC’s Ontario builder listed the standard V8 Crew Cab short-bed Denali 4WD at $90,999 before fees. Freight of $2,700, a $100 air-conditioning charge, $699 dealer fees, $22 OMVIC and $22.50 tire handling produced a displayed MSRP total of $94,542.50 before HST.

A conditional $10,000 non-stackable cash delivery allowance reduced the displayed net price to $84,542.50. This is a dated incentive example, not a permanent base price. The engine-selection page showed approximately $95,738 for the diesel and $98,188 for the 6.2-litre V8, including displayed fees before further options and taxes.

Listed package prices included $1,540 for Technology, $4,810 for Denali Reserve and $8,420 for Denali Reserve Super Cruise. Reserve adds items such as power steps, a sunroof and a Rear Camera Mirror. Package dependencies and selected equipment can change the final cost. Compare a written quote for the same configuration.

Competition

Chevrolet Silverado High Country offers related powertrains with a different premium presentation. Ford F-150 Platinum and Ram 1500 Limited provide other luxury pickup choices. Toyota Tundra’s higher trims offer another alternative. Compare actual equipment, fuel ratings, payload labels and towing specifications at the same final price.

Within GMC’s range, SLT may meet the need for leather and comfort, while Denali Ultimate adds equipment beyond the regular Denali. Browse our other truck reviews for more choices.
