2026 F-150 King Ranch engines

Ford’s year-specific Canadian 2026 towing guide rates the 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 at 382 hp and 500 lb-ft, and the 3.5-litre PowerBoost full hybrid at 420 hp and 570 lb-ft. Both have a ten-speed automatic. PowerBoost is a self-charging hybrid, with no plug-in charging requirement.
There is a material source discrepancy: the King Ranch retail FAQ still quotes 400/430 hp, while other Ford page sections show another hybrid output. This article uses the Canadian 2026 guide rather than combining figures from inconsistent retail sections. Verify the engine specification against the particular vehicle’s factory documentation.
Canadian lineup and configurations
The F-150 family includes XL, STX, XLT, Lariat, Tremor, King Ranch, Platinum and Raptor. King Ranch is a premium cabin and appearance choice, while Tremor and Raptor have separate hardware priorities. The engines and highest capacities across the whole family are not available in every trim.
King Ranch is offered as a four-door SuperCrew with a 5½- or 6½-foot box. Choose bed length before comparing equipment: it changes cargo usefulness, parking space and the applicable towing-guide row. Confirm the drivetrain and axle specification on the actual build.
F-150 King Ranch towing and payload

The Canadian guide gives the EcoBoost engine family a maximum available 13,500-lb conventional rating with the required Tow/Haul Package and Max Tow Axle. That is not a universal King Ranch rating. The Canadian PowerBoost 4×4 table lists 10,800 lb in the relevant standard configuration and 11,600 lb with the specified upgrades.
Use the engine, axle ratio, wheelbase, hitch and option-specific row, then check the actual payload label. Ford’s guide gives engine-family maximum available payload figures of 2,440 lb for the EcoBoost and 1,740 lb for the hybrid; a loaded luxury King Ranch can have less. Passengers, cargo, accessories and trailer tongue weight all use that allowance.
An included trailer-assistance system does not establish the tow rating. The Canadian guide requires a weight-distribution system above 5,000 lb and lists further equipment requirements for higher trailer weights. A fifth-wheel needs particular care with a 5½-foot box because many trailer designs are incompatible. Check the actual hitch and trailer instructions before selecting a truck.
Fuel economy in Canada
Natural Resources Canada lists the 3.5-litre F-150 4×4 at 14.0 L/100 km city, 10.2 highway and 12.3 combined. The 3.5-litre Hybrid 4×4 is listed at 11.3 city, 10.0 highway and 10.7 combined. These are engine/drivetrain entries, rather than an independently tested King Ranch trim result; both use regular gasoline in the guide.
At 20,000 km annually, those combined figures correspond to about 2,460 and 2,140 litres respectively, a 320-litre difference. Multiply by local fuel prices and compare with the hybrid’s additional purchase cost. Towing, cold weather and idling can change the real difference, so fuel savings alone do not decide the best build.
F-150 King Ranch interior and seating

Front captain’s chairs and a three-place rear bench give King Ranch five seats. Ford describes Del Rio leather, heated and ventilated front seats, genuine wood accents and a heated steering wheel. Do not apply the six-seat maximum of some other F-150 cabins to this console-equipped trim.
The rear seat flips up to expose cabin load space, and the SuperCrew has a flat floor. Check child seats, rear-passenger space and whether valuable tools fit inside before deciding bed accessories. Rear-seat heating should be confirmed on the build because Ford’s detailed list and introductory description differ on its status.

Infotainment and power outlets

The listed system includes a 12-inch SYNC 4 centre touchscreen, a 12-inch instrument display and 14-speaker B&O Unleashed audio. Ford also lists wireless charging and a console work surface. Connected navigation and Wi-Fi features have coverage and subscription conditions; verify the included period and ongoing costs.
PowerBoost can be equipped with 7.2-kW Pro Power Onboard. Check the actual outlet configuration, output limits and whether the equipment you intend to connect is suitable. A head-up display is optional, so its presence should be checked on the inventory vehicle rather than assumed from the trim name.
F-150 King Ranch safety and assistance
Ford lists adaptive cruise, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping, post-collision braking and blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert and trailer coverage. King Ranch also lists Pro Trailer Hitch Assist, Pro Trailer Backup Assist and Trailer Reverse Guidance. Availability and operating conditions should be confirmed on the actual truck.
Available BlueCruise is a separate hands-free highway-assistance feature with vehicle, road and service requirements. Do not treat it as universally included or unrestricted. Cameras and driver assistance support observation; they do not replace checking a trailer’s weight, hitch connection or surrounding clearance.
Exterior, bed and equipment priorities
King Ranch’s premium appearance is distinct from an off-road-specialist package. Select bed length, tire specification and access equipment around the work the truck will do. A bed cover can improve cargo protection, while a rack or toolbox changes usable space and adds weight.
Before choosing accessories, measure the equipment that must fit and calculate the remaining payload with passengers and hitch load included. Canadian winter use also warrants an appropriate tire budget. Replacing large wheels and tires is an ownership cost worth comparing between trims.
2026 Canadian pricing
Ford Canada’s 2026 King Ranch model listing showed a C$86,892 starting-price reference. It is not a complete quote for an optional hybrid or a truck with added towing equipment. Confirm the price basis and separate options, freight/PDI, fees, taxes and any incentive conditions.
Compare a dated itemized quote against Lariat and Platinum with the same engine, box and essential equipment. A monthly payment alone can hide differences in down payment, term, interest and residual value. The King Ranch premium is most meaningful when its cabin and included equipment are features you actually want.
Competition and buying considerations
The Ram 1500 Limited, GMC Sierra 1500 Denali, Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Country and Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition are useful premium-pickup alternatives to investigate. Compare exact engines, seating, trailer capacity, power-export equipment and transaction prices rather than broad range headlines.
The F-150 King Ranch is worth considering for a buyer who values its distinctive cabin and needs a light-duty pickup. Establish the loaded trailer weight and tongue weight first, then choose bed length and powertrain. If the actual label cannot accommodate the job, revisit the configuration or vehicle class before adding more luxury options.
Frequently asked questions
Does the F-150 King Ranch offer a hybrid engine?
Yes. The available 3.5-litre PowerBoost is a conventional full hybrid, so it does not require plugging in. A non-hybrid 3.5-litre EcoBoost engine is also offered.
Does every F-150 King Ranch tow 13,500 lb?
No. That is an F-150 family maximum for a qualifying configuration. A King Ranch’s rating depends on its engine, axle, equipment and other specifications; the PowerBoost has separate towing limits. Check the exact truck in Ford’s towing guide.
How many seats does the F-150 King Ranch have?
It has five seats in a SuperCrew cabin, with front captain’s chairs and a three-person rear bench. Its distinctive Del Rio leather interior does not include a six-seat front-bench arrangement.
