Models available and Denali Ultimate configuration

The Sierra 1500 range includes Pro, Pro Graphite, SLE, Elevation, SLT, AT4, Denali, AT4X and Denali Ultimate offerings. GMC positions the Denali Ultimate as its flagship luxury light-duty pickup. The AT4 and AT4X have a different equipment focus, and Sierra HD specifications do not apply to the Sierra 1500.

GMC lists the 2026 Denali Ultimate as a Crew Cab with four-wheel drive and a short bed. Its front bucket seats and rear bench provide seating for five. The short bed has a published cargo volume of 1,781 litres. A six-passenger front bench configuration elsewhere in the Sierra range should not be attributed to the Denali Ultimate.

Engines and mechanical specifications

The standard 6.2-litre EcoTec3 V8 produces 420 hp at 5,600 rpm and 460 lb-ft of torque at 4,100 rpm. The optional 3.0-litre Duramax turbo-diesel inline-six produces 305 hp at 3,750 rpm and 495 lb-ft at 2,750 rpm. Both use a ten-speed automatic transmission with Electronic Precision Shift.

The Denali Ultimate includes Denali Premium Suspension with Adaptive Ride Control, a two-speed Autotrac transfer case and an automatic locking rear differential. It is not equipped with the AT4X’s specific Multimatic DSSV suspension and front/rear electronic-locking differential combination. Its standard 22-inch wheels use all-season tires in the researched configuration.

Towing and payload

The diesel Crew Cab short-bed 4WD example in GMC’s builder displayed an 8,700-lb maximum trailering figure with a 3.23 rear axle ratio. Treat this as a reference for that selected configuration. GMC’s broader Sierra diesel maximum is achieved by different equipment combinations and should not be described as the Denali Ultimate’s guaranteed capacity.

Included towing equipment comprises a Trailering Package, integrated trailer brake controller, Hitch Guidance, Hitch View and an in-vehicle Trailering App. HD Surround Vision and trailer-camera provisions offer additional views, but camera functions that need an auxiliary trailer camera require that accessory. Trailer tire pressure and temperature sensors must be installed on the trailer before they can monitor its tires.

Payload must be checked on the truck’s door-jamb label. Passenger weight, bed cargo, fitted accessories and trailer tongue weight all count toward that limit. The VIN-specific trailering information and owner’s manual are the right references when matching an individual truck to a trailer.

Fuel economy

Natural Resources Canada’s regular 2026 Sierra 4WD entry with the 6.2-litre V8 is rated at 16.0 L/100 km city, 12.1 highway and 14.3 combined. The regular 4WD 3.0-litre diesel entry is 10.7 city, 9.3 highway and 10.1 combined. The guide lists premium gasoline for the 6.2-litre entry and diesel for the Duramax.

These are engine/drivetrain certification entries, not a separate road test of the Denali Ultimate. Tires and equipment can affect the applicable rating, so compare the truck’s EnerGuide label. Towing, load, weather and operating conditions change actual fuel use.

Interior, seats and storage

The Alpine Umber cabin uses full-grain leather seat trim. Standard front seats have 16-way power adjustment, heating, ventilation and massage, with driver memory. The rear outboard seats are heated, and the steering wheel is heated as well. A power-adjustable steering column, dual-zone climate control and rear air vents round out the cabin equipment.

The rear bench folds in a 60/40 split and includes seatback and under-seat storage. Front buckets create room for a centre console with cupholders and storage. GMC’s premium detailing includes Denali-specific materials and topographical design elements, while a standard power sunroof adds an opening above the front row.

Infotainment, displays and audio

A 13.4-inch GMC Premium Infotainment touchscreen with Google built-in is standard. It works alongside a 12.3-inch Driver Information Centre and a 15-inch head-up display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support compatible devices, and a wireless phone charging pad is included.

The standard Bose Premium Series audio system has 12 speakers with CenterPoint processing. USB connections and 120-volt outlets in the cabin and bed provide charging and power options. The rear camera mirror can display a camera view or function as a conventional mirror. Connected apps and services depend on compatible devices, coverage and the applicable service plan.

Safety features and Super Cruise

The Denali Ultimate’s standard assistance equipment includes Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, Following Distance Indicator and IntelliBeam high-beam control. It also includes adaptive cruise control, HD Surround Vision, a bed-view camera, Front and Rear Park Assist, Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Rear Pedestrian Alert and a Safety Alert Seat.

Super Cruise is standard and includes a three-year trial. It provides hands-free driver assistance on compatible roads and requires continued driver attention and readiness to take control. An active service plan is required after the included period. GMC’s equipment notes distinguish the Ultimate’s Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking and Super Cruise from the base Sierra assistance configuration.

Six airbags, stability and traction control with trailer sway control, tire-pressure monitoring with tire-fill alerts, rear-seat reminders and seat-belt reminders provide the remaining core safety equipment. Feature operation and camera views have limitations described in the owner’s manual.

Exterior and bed equipment

The Denali Ultimate wears a Vader Chrome grille and exclusive 22-inch machined wheels. Heated power-folding mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, a power sliding rear window and LED exterior lighting are included. GMC MultiPro Power Steps retract when not needed and have an articulating function for access beside the bed.

The six-function MultiPro tailgate, spray-on bedliner and bed lighting are standard equipment in the researched specification. The Ultimate also includes a Kicker MultiPro tailgate audio system, separate from the cabin’s Bose audio. Bed accessories and cargo should still be included when calculating usable payload.

CAD pricing

The Ontario builder listed a standard vehicle price of $109,999. The optional diesel was shown as a $1,995 credit. Adding $2,700 freight, $100 air-conditioning charge, $699 dealer fees, $22 OMVIC and $22.50 tire handling produced a diesel MSRP total of $111,547.50 before the displayed luxury-tax estimate and HST.

With a conditional $10,000 non-stackable cash delivery allowance, the builder showed $101,547.50 before an estimated $310 luxury tax, for a displayed net price of $101,857.50 before HST. This is a dated cash-offer example. The amount and tax estimate can change with incentives, options and transaction details; use a written dealer quote for the final total.

The engine-selection page showed approximately $116,252 for the V8 version including its displayed fees and luxury-tax estimate, before additional options and HST. Compare like-for-like price totals rather than mixing a base vehicle price with an incentive-adjusted or tax-inclusive figure.

Competition and configuration priorities

Comparable premium pickups include the Ford F-150 Platinum, Ram 1500 Tungsten, Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Country and Toyota Tundra Capstone. Compare their seat features, assistance technology, audio, towing labels and final prices with equivalent equipment. A luxury badge alone does not establish that two trucks include the same features.

The Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate’s appeal comes from the combination of a richly equipped five-seat cabin and a working pickup bed. The main choices are the standard V8 versus optional diesel, the exact towing requirements and any added accessories. Confirm the individual window sticker and payload label before settling on a configuration.
