2027 Kia EV5 GT-Line Limited FWD: Specs & Pricing

The 2027 Kia EV5 GT-Line Limited FWD puts the EV5’s most extensive technology package into a front-wheel-drive electric SUV. It has five seats, a long-range battery and a cabin with heated and ventilated seating, multiple displays and a panoramic sunroof. The Limited trim also brings camera and parking upgrades that distinguish it from the regular GT-Line.

This guide covers the Canadian GT-Line Limited FWD, using CAD prices and Kia’s published specifications. The AWD version and the separate GT model have different power outputs, so their numbers do not apply here. The Automotive Car Reviews video below shows the vehicle in more detail.

EV5 models available

Kia lists Light FWD, Wind, Land, GT-Line, GT-Line Limited and GT AWD. Wind through GT-Line Limited have FWD and AWD configurations. Light uses a smaller standard-range battery, while the other trims use the long-range pack. Availability depends on the version and delivery timing, so confirm the actual configuration when ordering.

The GT-Line Limited focuses on added technology and convenience. Meanwhile, the separate GT AWD adds more power and its own equipment. A GT-Line badge does not make this FWD vehicle the GT performance model.

2027 Kia EV5 GT-Line Limited FWD motor and battery

A front-mounted electric motor provides 214 horsepower and 218 lb-ft of torque. It uses a single-speed reduction gear and an 81.4-kWh lithium-ion battery. A heat pump and battery-heating system come standard. For comparison, Kia lists 261 horsepower for the long-range AWD configuration and 302 horsepower for GT AWD.

The heat pump helps manage cabin heating more efficiently, but winter temperatures can still reduce available range. Battery capacity in kWh describes stored energy; it is different from charging power in kW. Keeping those units separate helps make sense of the charging specifications.

Range and energy economy

Kia’s selected GT-Line Limited FWD specification page lists 457 kilometres of estimated range and 19.6 kWh/100 km combined energy consumption. The page labels range as estimated, and actual distance varies with temperature, speed, heating, load and battery condition. Use those figures for comparison rather than as a guaranteed trip distance.

Because the EV5 runs entirely on electricity, gasoline consumption is not applicable. To estimate charging cost, multiply the energy needed by the electricity tariff or station rate. For example, 19.6 kWh at $0.20 per kWh equals $3.92 for that amount of energy. Charging losses, billing fees and real consumption can change the final cost.

Charging and external power

The EV5 uses a NACS charging port and a 400-volt electrical architecture. Kia’s 2027 brochure lists an 11-kW onboard AC charger. For the long-range battery, it gives approximately 7 hours 5 minutes from 10% to 100% on an appropriate 240-volt, 11-kW setup.

For DC charging, Kia quotes approximately 30 minutes from 10% to 80% using a suitable high-output station under the stated conditions. The 350-kW figure in its charging example describes the station; it does not mean the vehicle receives 350 kW. Cold batteries, station limits and charge level can extend the session.

The Limited also includes interior and exterior Vehicle-to-Load capability. Kia’s EV5 overview describes up to 1,900 watts of AC output for compatible devices. Check the equipment and load limits before connecting an appliance.

Towing and cargo capacity

Kia’s EV5 comparison guide lists 1,800 lb, approximately 816 kg, for long-range FWD towing when properly equipped. The vehicle includes trailer-lighting pre-wiring, but pre-wiring alone is not a complete hitch installation. Confirm the hitch, wiring, trailer brakes and vehicle-specific limits before towing.

For storage, Kia publishes up to 965 litres behind the rear seats and 2,080 litres with them folded in its EV cargo comparison. The front trunk provides additional storage for items such as charging equipment. Passenger and cargo weight still count toward the actual vehicle’s load limit.

Interior and comfort equipment

The GT-Line Limited FWD has synthetic upholstery, power-adjustable front seats and driver-seat memory. Heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel and tri-zone automatic climate control come standard. The rear seat folds 60/40, while rear ventilation outlets serve second-row passengers.

A panoramic sunroof, smart power liftgate and power-folding mirrors add convenience. The GT-Line design includes 19-inch wheels and distinctive exterior accents. Kia lists a 4,610-mm length and a 2,750-mm wheelbase. Those measurements help establish its footprint, but checking the cabin with your child seats and luggage remains useful.

Infotainment and Limited technology

A 12.3-inch navigation touchscreen sits alongside a 12.3-inch driver display and five-inch climate-control display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging and Kia Connect with over-the-air updates support connectivity. The Limited adds Harman Kardon premium audio, a head-up display, Digital Key and fingerprint recognition.

These are key reasons to compare Limited with the regular GT-Line. However, connected services and digital-key functions depend on compatible devices and their service terms. Verify those details alongside the physical equipment rather than assuming every smartphone supports every function.

Safety and parking assistance

The GT-Line Limited includes eight airbags, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2, Highway Driving Assist 2 and Smart Cruise Control 2 with Stop & Go. Lane assistance, blind-spot collision-avoidance, rear cross-traffic avoidance, driver-attention warning and safe-exit assistance also feature in the equipment list.

Limited-specific upgrades include a surround-view monitor, blind-spot-view monitor and Remote Smart Parking Assist 2. Rear parking collision-avoidance and front, side and rear parking-distance warnings provide additional support. Kia’s trim-specific specification page separates these features from those on lower versions.

A camera view and collision-avoidance system serve different purposes. Similarly, parking assistance has operating conditions and does not remove the need to monitor the vehicle and its surroundings. These distinctions help explain the equipment more accurately than a general list of model-wide features.

2027 Kia EV5 GT-Line Limited FWD pricing

Kia’s July 15, 2026 pricing announcement lists the GT-Line Limited FWD at $58,995 MSRP and $61,745 all-in before sales tax, licensing and insurance. These dated figures are in CAD. The announcement includes freight, the air-conditioning charge and applicable listed fees in its all-in calculation; a current retailer quote may differ.

On the same MSRP basis, GT-Line FWD is $55,495 and GT-Line Limited AWD is $61,495. Limited therefore adds $3,500 to the regular GT-Line FWD, while AWD adds $2,500 to Limited FWD. The July announcement starts the overall range at $43,495 for Light FWD. No incentive deduction is included in these prices.

Competition and trim choice

The Hyundai IONIQ 5, Volkswagen ID.4 and Tesla Model Y belong on the comparison list for a five-seat electric SUV. Compare the exact drivetrain, usable trip range, charging setup and supplied comfort features. Hyundai’s 2026 IONIQ 5 equipment guide, for example, distinguishes its RWD and AWD packages.

Within Kia’s own range, Land FWD and GT-Line FWD offer useful price comparisons. The 2027 Kia EV5 GT-Line Limited FWD is most relevant when the extra cameras, parking functions, premium audio and head-up display justify their cost. Buyers who require AWD should compare that configuration directly rather than treating this FWD review as equivalent.
