The 2026 Ford Mustang EcoBoost RTR adds a factory performance package to Ford’s turbocharged fastback. Its appeal starts with the specification: a 2.3-litre engine, rear-wheel drive, distinctive RTR body details and hardware drawn from other Mustang variants. Buyers can also choose extra appearance equipment and adaptive dampers.
This guide covers the EcoBoost fastback with the full RTR package. Prices are in CAD. The package selection matters because the RTR appearance option and the complete RTR package have separate prices and equipment.

2026 Ford Mustang EcoBoost RTR engine and transmission

The turbocharged four-cylinder produces 315 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. Ford quotes its engine output using premium fuel. A 10-speed automatic sends power to the rear wheels; this EcoBoost configuration does not pair the engine with a manual gearbox.
The RTR package includes active-valve performance exhaust and Ford’s anti-lag turbocharger technology. The latter is an engine-control feature. Neither equipment item changes the published EcoBoost horsepower figure into a separate, higher factory rating.
RTR package equipment and available options

Ford’s factory package brings a GT-style front fascia, RTR grille details and illuminated signature elements. Tarnished Dark trim extends to the mirror caps, badges and raised rear wing. The selected build includes 19-by-9.5-inch wheels and 255/40ZR19 tyres.
The package also adds Brembo brakes, revised chassis hardware and RTR-specific stability-control programming. Ford identifies Dark Horse-derived stabilizer bars and rear-subframe components among the mechanical changes. MagneRide adaptive dampers are available, so buyers should check the order sheet before assuming their car includes them.
The optional Hyper Lime appearance equipment changes the visual specification further. That choice deserves a separate line on a quote. The current configurator lists an RTR appearance package at $1,850, in addition to the $9,750 full RTR package.

Interior, seating and storage

The fastback has two front seats and two rear seating positions. Its 50/50 split rear backrest folds to provide extra loading flexibility. The enclosed boot gives it a different luggage arrangement from a hatchback; the opening and shape matter when checking whether larger items will fit.
Our researched RTR configuration uses Black Onyx cloth/vinyl upholstery with Hyper Lime stitching. The factory package’s heated front seats combine a six-way power driver adjustment with a four-way manually adjusted passenger seat. Dual-zone automatic climate control and a tilt/telescoping steering column are part of the fastback’s equipment.
RTR-specific sill plates, a numbered dash plaque and interior accent details distinguish the package from a regular EcoBoost. Buyers comparing it with EcoBoost Premium should compare the upholstery and comfort equipment directly rather than treating the RTR badge as a Premium trim upgrade.
Infotainment and connected features

A 13.2-inch centre touchscreen runs SYNC 4, while a 12.4-inch digital instrument display sits ahead of the driver. These separate screens provide infotainment controls and configurable vehicle information. The selected 101A build adds a nine-speaker amplified audio system.
The configurator includes a three-month SiriusXM with 360L trial and a one-year Ford Connectivity Package. A seven-year connectivity purchase is available at extra cost. Trial services and ongoing subscriptions deserve a separate check when comparing ownership costs.
Safety and assistance features
Standard fastback equipment includes pre-collision assistance with automatic emergency braking, a lane-keeping system and blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert. Rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera help with parking. Rain-sensing wipers and automatic high beams are also included.
Ford also lists electronic stability control, tyre-pressure monitoring, dual front airbags, front-seat side airbags and a driver’s knee airbag. Child-seat lower anchors and tether anchors are provided. Driver-assistance systems supplement the driver’s attention and operate within their documented limits.
Fuel economy
Natural Resources Canada lists the 2026 Mustang with the 2.3-litre engine and 10-speed automatic at 10.7 L/100 km city, 7.1 highway and 9.1 combined, using premium fuel. These are the guide’s general powertrain figures; its table does not identify a separate RTR entry.
Use those figures as a reference when comparing the EcoBoost engine with other options. Confirm the fuel-consumption label on the actual RTR vehicle, because its wheel, tyre and package specification can differ from the vehicle behind a general listing.
Towing and load limits
Ford’s 2026 towing guide lists a maximum loaded trailer weight of 454 kg (1,000 lb) for a properly equipped rear-drive 2.3-litre automatic Mustang. Ford does not offer factory-installed trailer-tow equipment for this application. The guide also limits trailer frontal area to 12 square feet.
The guide identifies the powertrain rather than a separate RTR configuration. Confirm the specific vehicle’s suitability and required aftermarket equipment with Ford before using that limit. Passenger, luggage, accessory and trailer tongue loads must remain within the vehicle’s own load rating.
2026 Ford Mustang EcoBoost RTR pricing and model range
The researched Ford build totals $53,170 before sales tax: $38,930 base MSRP, $1,995 for equipment group 101A, $9,750 for the full RTR package and $2,495 in listed fees. Shadow Black paint and the selected interior add no separate charge in this configuration. Optional dampers, appearance equipment and other extras can increase the total.
This configurator quote provides an illustrative reference rather than a guaranteed dealer transaction price. Check the complete itemized quote for applicable tax, registration, licensing and any dealer additions.
The wider Mustang range includes EcoBoost and EcoBoost Premium, GT and GT Premium, plus Dark Horse variants. Fastback and convertible availability varies by model. The RTR package discussed here is a fastback option; choosing a GT instead changes the engine to a V8.
Competition and alternatives
Within Ford’s own range, the EcoBoost Premium is an alternative for buyers prioritizing cabin equipment, while the GT adds a V8. Compare their complete prices with the RTR build because optional packages can change that comparison considerably.
The Subaru BRZ and Toyota GR86 offer another route to a rear-drive coupe. Nissan’s Z also belongs on a two-door comparison list. Engine layout, gearbox availability, rear-seat needs and luggage access provide useful ways to narrow these choices before comparing specific equipment.
