2026 Chevrolet Tahoe High Country: Specs, Features & Pricing

The 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe High Country combines a standard 6.2-litre V8 with three-row seating, leather upholstery and an extensive technology package. It is the most luxurious Tahoe trim, but its equipment list still leaves room for options. Seating, towing hardware and suspension choices deserve particular attention before ordering.

This guide covers the Tahoe High Country 4WD, using Chevrolet’s Canadian specifications and current build-and-price information. All prices are in Canadian dollars. Equipment and availability depend on the selected configuration.

2026 Tahoe models available

The Tahoe range includes LS, LT, Z71, RST, Premier and High Country. LS and LT form the starting point, while RST adds a sportier appearance. Z71 emphasizes off-road equipment. Premier and High Country concentrate on premium comfort and technology.

A 5.3-litre V8 powers several lower trims. High Country instead includes the larger 6.2-litre V8, with a 3.0-litre Duramax turbo-diesel available as an alternative. Buyers considering a specific engine should check the trim and package combinations in the configurator.

Tahoe High Country engine specifications

The standard 6.2-litre V8 produces 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. It uses direct injection, variable valve timing and Dynamic Fuel Management. A 10-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive complete the configuration covered here.

The available 3.0-litre Duramax turbo-diesel produces 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque. Both engine choices use a 10-speed automatic. The diesel has its own pricing and towing specifications, so a V8 rating should not automatically be applied to a diesel vehicle.

High Country includes Magnetic Ride Control and a mechanical limited-slip rear differential. Its standard transfer case is the single-speed Autotrac unit. Adaptive Air Ride suspension and a two-speed transfer case require the appropriate optional equipment; they are not included simply because the vehicle is a High Country.

Towing capacity and trailering equipment

Chevrolet’s configurator lists 7,600 lb of maximum trailering for the standard 6.2-litre High Country 4WD configuration checked for this article. That figure is configuration-specific. Adding trailering equipment or choosing another engine can change the applicable rating.

Standard hardware includes a hitch platform, a 2-inch receiver, a seven-pin connector and trailer sway control. Hitch Guidance is also included. The Max Trailering Package adds equipment such as an integrated trailer brake controller and a two-speed Autotrac transfer case. Additional trailering packages offer Hitch View, trailer camera provisions and Blind Zone Steering Assist with Trailering.

For a real trailer purchase, confirm the exact vehicle’s towing documentation and payload label. Passengers, cargo and trailer tongue weight all use available payload. A headline tow rating alone does not establish how much a loaded family SUV can safely carry and tow.

Fuel economy

Natural Resources Canada rates the 2026 Tahoe 4WD with the 6.2-litre V8 at 16.6 L/100 km city, 13.0 highway and 15.0 combined. The listing specifies premium gasoline. These are standardized consumption ratings, rather than a promise of the results every owner will obtain.

The 3.0-litre diesel Tahoe 4WD is rated at 11.5 L/100 km city, 9.7 highway and 10.7 combined. Engine choice therefore matters when comparing running costs. Trailer use, weather, tires, load and short trips can also change consumption.

Interior, seating and cargo

The Tahoe High Country has seven seats as standard, with front buckets, second-row buckets and a three-person third-row bench. Chevrolet also lists an optional power second-row bench. That arrangement increases seating to eight. The wider Tahoe family’s maximum seating claim should not be mistaken for every High Country configuration.

Perforated leather seating surfaces, heated and ventilated front seats and heated second-row outboard seats are standard. Both front seats have eight-way power adjustment with four-way power lumbar support. Driver memory also covers the mirrors and power tilt-and-telescoping steering column. A heated steering wheel adds another cold-weather convenience.

The second-row buckets have power release, and the third-row bench folds electrically in split sections. A power-sliding centre console moves rearward to open space between the front seats and reveal additional storage. Tri-zone automatic climate control and rear air conditioning serve all three rows.

Chevrolet lists 3,474 litres of maximum cargo space with the rear seats folded. With passengers occupying the third row, less space is available for luggage. Families who regularly need all seats and a large load of bags can also compare the longer Chevrolet Suburban.

A panoramic power sunroof and power-retractable assist steps are optional. The High Country Deluxe package combines these with Adaptive Air Ride suspension and other equipment. Standard exterior features include 22-inch wheels, fixed assist steps, heated power-folding mirrors, LED lighting and a power programmable liftgate.

Infotainment and displays

A 17.7-inch central touchscreen comes standard, alongside an 11-inch driver information display and a 15-inch head-up display. The infotainment system supports Google built-in compatibility, wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. Connected functions depend on applicable accounts, services and connectivity.

High Country also includes a Bose CenterPoint 10-speaker audio system, wireless phone charging and USB connections. Two 120-volt outlets are located at the rear of the centre console and in the cargo area. A Rear Camera Mirror provides an alternative camera view to the conventional mirror.

A rear-seat media system is available for passengers. Chevrolet lists an interior camera but states that it requires a future software update. Buyers should confirm activation and availability before treating that feature as ready to use.

Safety features and driver assistance

Standard Tahoe High Country equipment includes Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking, Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking and Reverse Automatic Braking. Forward Collision Alert and enhanced Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning are also included.

Blind Zone Steering Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Rear Pedestrian Alert and Side Bicyclist Alert broaden the detection features. HD Surround Vision supplies selectable camera views, while Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist can help manoeuvre into a detected parking space. Adaptive Cruise Control and a vibrating Safety Alert Seat are standard.

The front-bucket configuration includes seven airbags. Rear child security locks, LATCH child-seat attachments, Teen Driver and a rear-seat reminder are also listed. Assistance features have operating limits and require an attentive driver.

Super Cruise is optional and requires the appropriate package. Its hands-free capability applies only under supported conditions on compatible roads. Confirm package content and the included service term on the vehicle being purchased.

Pricing and options

The 2026 Tahoe High Country 4WD with the standard V8 has a $106,999 base vehicle price in the Ontario configurator. Freight, the air-conditioning charge, dealer fees, OMVIC and tire fees bring the displayed total to $110,542.50 before estimated luxury tax.

The builder then adds an estimated $2,109 luxury tax, producing a displayed price of $112,651.50 before HST. This example does not include optional packages. Fees, incentives and tax calculations can vary, so compare a written dealer quote against the same equipment configuration.

Examples of listed options include the $2,425 Sun and Tow Package, $2,180 Technology and Entertainment Package and $8,690 High Country Deluxe package. Package dependencies can add equipment and cost. A component displayed at $0 inside the builder does not necessarily mean it can be ordered independently without a paid package.

Competition

The GMC Yukon Denali is a close alternative with related engines and a different premium interior presentation. Ford Expedition offers another large three-row SUV with a turbocharged engine. Toyota Sequoia emphasizes a hybrid powertrain, while Jeep Wagoneer provides another option for buyers prioritizing space and towing.

Compare the actual seating arrangement, cargo space with every seat occupied, engine consumption, towing equipment and final price. Within Chevrolet’s range, Tahoe Premier may satisfy buyers who want much of the premium equipment, while Suburban High Country addresses the need for more length and luggage room.
