Models Available

The 2026 lineup includes Escalade, Luxury, Sport, Platinum Luxury, Platinum Sport and V-Series. Most grades can be ordered in the standard Escalade body or the longer Escalade ESV. Sport’s gloss-black trim and grille distinguish it from Luxury, while Platinum Sport adds more extensive seating, suspension, audio and rear-entertainment equipment. Escalade-V is a separate supercharged configuration. The electric Escalade IQ and IQL are separate vehicles with different powertrains and specifications.

Engine and Four-Wheel Drive

Escalade Sport uses a naturally aspirated 6.2-litre gasoline V8 with 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. Dynamic Fuel Management is included. The Sport configuration uses a two-speed transfer case and an electronic limited-slip differential. The 682-horsepower supercharged V8 advertised for Escalade-V does not apply to Sport.

Magnetic Ride Control is standard. Air Ride Adaptive Suspension is an available upgrade through the Touring Package, alongside power-assisted opening and closing doors. These are separate features: ordering Sport alone does not automatically add air suspension. Standard wheels are 22 inches, while 24-inch designs are available. Wheel and tire choices should be checked on the actual order, rather than inferred from an image of a differently equipped Escalade.

Towing and Payload

The selected 2026 Canadian Escalade Sport 4WD build summary lists a maximum trailer weight of 7,900 lb. Standard trailering equipment includes hitch hardware, a seven-pin connection, an integrated trailer brake controller, hitch-view functions and an in-vehicle trailering app. Different body styles and drivetrains can carry different ratings, so an Escalade-wide headline maximum is not a substitute for this configuration’s specification.

The same selected summary lists 2,020 lb of maximum payload and a 7,600-lb gross vehicle weight rating. These are configuration references, rather than a promise that every Sport has the same available carrying capacity. Added options, passengers, luggage and trailer tongue weight use payload. The tire-and-loading label on the delivered SUV and its towing documentation determine the practical limits for a particular trailer.

Fuel Economy

Natural Resources Canada’s 2026 Fuel Consumption Guide lists Escalade 4WD at 16.6 L/100 km in the city, 13.0 on the highway and 15.0 combined, with premium gasoline. These are official estimates rather than measured consumption from this review. Cold weather, trailer weight, idling and trip length can change actual fuel use. Fuel cost should be assessed alongside insurance, tires and financing when comparing full-size luxury SUVs.

Seats, Interior and Cargo Space

Third-row bench seating in the 2026 Cadillac Escalade Sport

The usual Sport seating arrangement is seven passengers: two front seats, two second-row bucket seats and a three-person third row. Available second-row bench seating can increase Escalade capacity to eight. Check the selected seating option if eight seats are essential; the standard captain’s-chair arrangement remains a seven-seater.

Sport includes leather seating with precision-perforated inserts, heated and ventilated 12-way front seats, heated second-row seats, a heated steering wheel and three-zone climate control. A panoramic sliding glass roof, memory settings and power-retractable running boards are included. The second-row seats have power-release functions and the third row folds electrically. These functions make it possible to change the balance between passenger seating and cargo space.

The longer ESV is the alternative for owners who regularly need luggage room with all three rows occupied. Its body style should be specified when comparing cargo figures or prices. Full semi-aniline leather and the 16-way front seats with massage listed for Platinum Sport are upgrades associated with that higher grade, rather than standard Sport equipment. An Executive Second Row layout should likewise be treated as a specific higher-grade option with its own seating arrangement.

Infotainment and Audio

The 55-inch total-diagonal curved front display is standard and combines driver information, infotainment and front-passenger functions. Google built-in, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, wireless phone charging, a head-up display and a Rear Camera Mirror are included. Google services and the available Wi-Fi hotspot have connected-service and data-plan requirements for full functionality.

Sport’s standard AKG Studio audio system has 21 speakers. The 38-speaker AKG Studio Reference system is optional. Rear Seat Entertainment, with two independent 12.6-inch screens, is also an available upgrade. Cadillac’s advertised 42-speaker system accompanies the Executive Second Row package on eligible higher grades; it should not be listed as the ordinary Sport audio system.

Safety Features

The Sport equipment list includes enhanced automatic emergency braking, intersection automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian and bicyclist braking, reverse automatic braking and rear cross-traffic braking. Blind-zone steering assistance, trailer-side blind-zone support, rear pedestrian alerts, traffic-sign recognition and a Safety Alert Seat are also included. HD Surround Vision provides camera views, while enhanced automatic parking assistance adds parking support.

Adaptive cruise control and Super Cruise are standard. Super Cruise includes a three-year trial, with compatible-road and driver-attention requirements. Continued connected-service access after the trial may require a paid plan. Night Vision thermal imaging is optional, with limited availability. The presence of driver-assistance systems should not be presented as a verified crash-test score, and the driver remains responsible for monitoring the vehicle and surroundings.

Pricing in Canadian Dollars

The Ontario configurator listed a standard vehicle price of C$134,599 for the selected Escalade Sport 4WD. Freight was C$2,900, air-conditioning excise tax C$100, dealer administration C$699, the OMVIC fee C$22 and the tire levy C$22.50. That produced a subtotal of C$138,342.50. The displayed estimated luxury tax was C$7,669, bringing the net total to C$146,011.50 before provincial sales tax and licensing.

Optional suspension, larger wheels, paint, upgraded audio and rear entertainment change the total. A quote for an ESV or Platinum Sport is not equivalent to this standard-wheelbase Sport example. Compare itemized totals with consistent freight, fee and luxury-tax treatment. Current incentives, dealer pricing and the final tax calculation may differ from this reference build.

Competition

The Lincoln Navigator Black Label, Mercedes-Benz GLS, BMW X7 and Jeep Grand Wagoneer are relevant alternatives. Navigator Black Label adds standard massaging front seats and ventilated second-row captain’s chairs, while Escalade Sport emphasizes its V8, dark exterior trim and large curved display. A GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate also deserves consideration for buyers comparing high-equipment full-size SUVs. Compare seat count, cargo room behind occupied seats and included features at the quoted price.

Escalade Sport suits an equipment shortlist centred on a V8, seven or available eight seats, substantial trailering capability and Cadillac’s dashboard technology. Decide early whether the longer ESV, available air suspension or Platinum seating package is necessary, since those choices change both the configuration and the price.
