2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Summit Reserve: Features & Canadian Pricing

The 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Summit Reserve puts its emphasis on cabin materials, seating features and entertainment equipment. The L matters: this is the three-row Grand Cherokee, not the two-row model or a 4xe plug-in hybrid.

Models and packages

Jeep’s Canadian feature matrix describes Summit Reserve as an equipment package on Summit. It adds Palermo leather, walnut trim, a suede headliner, ventilated second-row seating, a passenger display, McIntosh audio and 21-inch wheels. 2024 Canadian feature matrix.

That packaging is important when reading advertisements. A Summit and a Summit Reserve can share many features, but the names should not be treated as interchangeable. Check the original equipment list before valuing an individual used vehicle.

Engine and transmission

The standard 3.6-litre V6 is rated at 293 hp and 260 lb-ft. The optional 5.7-litre V8 is rated at 357 hp and 390 lb-ft. Both use an eight-speed automatic. The available V8 is a separate option, not standard Summit Reserve equipment. Jeep Canada’s 2024 specifications.

The V8 should be evaluated as a distinct configuration rather than assumed from the top equipment level. Compare its purchase price and intended use with the V6, and request the service history for either engine.

Interior and technology

Summit already includes front-seat massage and a power-folding third row. Reserve’s passenger screen is 10.25 inches and its McIntosh system has 19 speakers. Night Vision and a head-up display belong to a separate Advanced ProTech package, not an automatic promise attached to the Reserve name. Included equipment and package distinctions.

Try every screen, seat adjustment and camera during an inspection. If travelling with children, check how the second-row layout works with the child seats you intend to use, and whether the third row remains accessible. Bring your regular luggage rather than estimating cargo fit from photos.

Fuel economy

At 20,000 km annually, the combined ratings represent 2,260 litres for the V6 and 2,820 for the V8. That is a fuel-volume comparison, not a total ownership-cost estimate. Actual use depends on route, temperature, load and driving conditions.

Towing and ownership

Jeep publishes maximum trailer figures of 6,200 pounds for the V6 and 7,200 for the V8. These are configuration-dependent ceilings: confirm the fitted equipment, individual vehicle rating and payload before selecting a trailer. Canadian towing specifications.

Count passenger, cargo and trailer tongue weight together. For a used SUV, obtain a VIN-specific recall check and confirm that relevant repairs have been completed. A general specification sheet cannot establish the mechanical condition or campaign status of a particular example.

The equipment comparison comes from Jeep’s Canadian matrix. The $5,000 difference compares the Reserve equipment step, not a change to the V8. A fully optioned listing should be evaluated against another complete configuration rather than these base numbers alone.

Is Summit Reserve the right fit?

The strongest reason to consider Reserve is that you want its particular interior and entertainment upgrades. If those features are not priorities, compare Summit first. For a used purchase, weigh the equipment against condition, maintenance and the cost of addressing any faults identified in an independent inspection.
