2026 Ford F-250 Platinum: Specs, Features & Pricing

The 2026 Ford F-250 Platinum combines a heavy-duty pickup platform with a five-seat leather cabin, massaging front seats and extensive trailer technology. Its standard 7.3-litre gasoline V8 is distinct from the two optional Power Stroke diesels, so engine choice matters as much as the Platinum badge when comparing capability and price.

Models and configurations

The Super Duty lineup includes XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum trims across different F-250 and F-350 configurations. The F-250 Platinum uses a Crew Cab and single rear wheels, with a 6¾-foot or 8-foot box. Equipment Group 703A is the standard Platinum specification. Tremor and Platinum Plus are additional packages, with equipment and compatibility that must be checked against the chosen engine and body.

Engine specifications

The standard naturally aspirated 7.3-litre V8 produces 430 hp and 485 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with a TorqShift-G ten-speed automatic, four-wheel drive and a 3.73 electronic-locking rear axle in the base configuration checked here.

The optional 6.7-litre Power Stroke turbo-diesel V8 produces 475 hp and 1,050 lb-ft, while the high-output version produces 500 hp and 1,200 lb-ft. The diesels use a TorqShift ten-speed automatic. These are separate engine choices; the high-output figures do not describe every diesel Platinum.

Towing and payload

Ford’s 2026 towing guide lists F-250 conventional towing ratings up to 22,000 lb for certain diesel configurations with the required High-Capacity Axle Upgrade Package. A properly equipped 7.3-litre gas F-250 with a 4.30 axle is listed at up to 18,200 lb for conventional towing. Neither figure should be applied automatically to the standard 3.73-axle Platinum.

The trailer brake controller, Pro Trailer Backup Assist and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist are standard Platinum equipment. The 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Hitch Prep Package is an additional option, listed at $1,525 in the builder. Fifth-wheel and gooseneck ratings use separate tables. Check the actual truck’s VIN, axle, GVWR, GCWR and payload label before buying a trailer: passengers, accessories and trailer tongue or pin weight all consume payload. The 40,000-lb Super Duty headline rating is not an F-250 Platinum rating.

Fuel economy

A comparable NRCan city/highway/combined fuel-consumption rating is not provided for this heavy-duty pickup. Avoid comparing an unverified L/100 km estimate with certified light-duty truck ratings. Gas versus diesel, load, trailer weight and configuration will materially affect consumption.

Interior and seating

The Platinum seats five: two front captain’s chairs separated by a console and a three-person rear bench. Standard leather seating includes eight-way power front seats, heated and ventilated front cushions, multicontour massage and driver memory. The Crew Cab also has heated rear seats and a 60/40 rear bench with lockable under-seat storage.

Dual-zone automatic climate control, a heated steering wheel, power-adjustable pedals with memory and a power tilt/telescoping steering column add convenience. A twin-panel moonroof and Max Recline seats are options. Diesel versions include a supplemental cab heater. Do not confuse the optional Platinum Plus Smoked Truffle upholstery with the standard Platinum cabin.

Infotainment and connectivity

A 12-inch central touchscreen runs SYNC 4, complemented by a 12-inch driver display. The standard B&O Unleashed audio system has 14 speakers including a subwoofer. Wireless charging and connected navigation with a one-year subscription are included. The 5G modem supports connected services and hotspot capability; service plans, coverage and subscription terms still apply.

Safety and driver assistance

Standard Platinum features include Pre-Collision Assist with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert and trailer coverage, automatic high beams and rear parking sensors. A 360-degree camera helps with positioning the truck and trailer. These systems assist the driver and do not replace attention or the truck’s weight and towing limits.

Exterior and useful equipment

The standard single-rear-wheel configuration has 20-inch bright-machined and Ebony Black low-gloss aluminum wheels with LT275/65R20 all-terrain tires. Power-deployable running boards, a tailgate step and LED box lighting are included in the builder specification. Standard 400-watt outlets are separate from the optional 2.0-kW Pro Power Onboard system.

Pricing in CAD

The 6¾-foot-box configuration checked lists a base MSRP of $105,005 plus $2,795 in fees: $107,800 before sales tax and additional options. Ford’s builder then applies a $2,500 delivery allowance for a displayed net price of $105,300. The 8-foot-box starting net price is $105,900 under the same offer. Incentives can expire and vary by region.

The standard-output diesel adds $11,725 and the high-output diesel adds $15,725 in the configuration checked. Paint, off-road packages, Platinum Plus, the moonroof and other options can change the total. These are researched starting prices, rather than a price claim for the exact truck in the video.

Competition

Comparable premium heavy-duty pickups include the Ram 2500 Limited, GMC Sierra 2500HD Denali and Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD High Country. Compare similarly equipped gas or diesel trucks, cab and box dimensions, trailer-camera features and the payload label. A luxury equipment package can reduce the remaining payload available for occupants and trailer pin weight.

Frequently asked questions

Is the F-250 Platinum a five-seater?

Yes. It has two front captain’s chairs and a three-person rear bench. The front console means the six-seat arrangement from a bench-equipped trim does not apply.

Is the high-output diesel standard on F-250 Platinum?

No. A 7.3-litre gasoline V8 is standard. The regular 6.7-litre Power Stroke and its high-output version are separate optional engines with different outputs.

Is fifth-wheel preparation included with the Platinum badge?

No. The 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Hitch Prep Package is an additional option. Trailer assistance features do not establish that the hitch preparation is fitted or that a particular trailer is within the truck’s ratings.
