The 2026 Toyota Tundra Hybrid TRD Pro combines Toyota’s i-FORCE MAX powertrain with a five-seat CrewMax cabin and dedicated TRD hardware. This Canadian specifications review covers its equipment, fuel economy, pricing and practical considerations. The TRD Pro is a distinct package within the hybrid CrewMax Limited range; specifications for other Tundras should not automatically be applied to it.
Watch the Automotive Car Reviews walkaround below for a closer look at the vehicle. The specifications in this article were independently checked against Toyota Canada and Natural Resources Canada.

2026 Tundra Hybrid TRD Pro engine and transmission

The i-FORCE MAX system pairs a 3.4-litre twin-turbocharged V6 with an electric motor and clutch integrated into the transmission assembly. Combined output is 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque, with a ten-speed automatic and part-time four-wheel drive. This is a conventional hybrid: it does not require external charging.
The engine specification is different from the non-hybrid Tundra. Hybrid power is standard on the Canadian TRD Pro, rather than an optional engine upgrade on that package.
Models available in Canada
The wider 2026 lineup includes Double Cab and CrewMax bodies, gasoline and hybrid powertrains, and different bed lengths. Gasoline grades include SR, SR5, TRD Off Road, Limited Nightshade, Limited TRD Off Road, Platinum and 1794, with selected towing-mirror and Rally configurations.
Hybrid choices include Limited Nightshade, Limited TRD Off Road, TRD Pro, Platinum, 1794 and Capstone, plus selected Advanced or towing-mirror packages. The TRD Pro is a CrewMax with a 5.5-foot bed. Choosing the longer hybrid bed means selecting another package.
Tundra TRD Pro exterior and equipment
Distinctive equipment includes 18-inch black forged BBS wheels, 285/65R18 tires, a rear locking differential, Multi-Terrain Select and Crawl Control. The suspension uses 2.5-inch FOX internal-bypass front coilovers and rear remote-reservoir shocks, with a 1.1-inch front lift.
A heritage-style TOYOTA grille with an LED light bar, amber marker lamps, TRD skid plate, black dual exhaust and stamped tailgate distinguish it from a Limited TRD Off Road. Wave Maker blue joins the 2026 TRD Pro colour selection. These are equipment and design details, rather than claims about driving behaviour.
Safety features on the reviewed model
Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 includes a pre-collision system with pedestrian and bicycle detection, intersection support, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assistance, Lane Tracing Assist and automatic high beams.
The Canadian Limited-based TRD Pro also includes Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Intuitive Parking Assist with Auto Braking, and Multi-Terrain Monitor. Toyota lists eight airbags. The Multi-Terrain Monitor should be identified by its own name: the Platinum’s Panoramic View Monitor and Trailer Backup Guide with Straight Path Assist are separate equipment entries.
Towing, payload and cargo bed

Toyota advertises a hybrid-lineup towing maximum of 5,067 kg (approximately 11,170 lb). That headline is not a verified TRD Pro-specific rating. The current Canadian comparison sheet groups packages under CrewMax Limited, so this review does not label its base-grade towing or payload figures as the TRD Pro’s capacity.
For a trailer purchase, obtain the rating for the exact Canadian TRD Pro configuration and check the owner’s manual, gross combined weight limit and doorjamb load label. Passengers, accessories, cargo and trailer tongue weight all consume available payload. A high tow rating alone does not establish that a fully loaded combination is suitable.
The truck includes a trailer brake controller and heavy-duty hitch receiver. Its composite bed has adjustable tie-down cleats and a 120-volt, 400-watt outlet. Bed length is approximately 1,677 mm (66 inches), so measure bulky equipment against the actual usable space before buying.
2026 Tundra Hybrid TRD Pro fuel economy
The 2026 NRCan Fuel Consumption Guide specifically rates the Tundra Hybrid 4WD TRD PRO at 12.9 L/100 km city, 11.6 highway and 12.3 combined, using regular gasoline. The ordinary hybrid entry is 12.7/10.5/11.7, so its lower combined figure should not be substituted for the TRD Pro.
For budget planning, 20,000 km at the official combined rating represents approximately 2,460 litres annually. Multiply that by your local fuel price. This is a calculation from the laboratory rating, not measured consumption from our video; weather, loads and towing can change the result.
Tundra TRD Pro interior and seating

The CrewMax accommodates five passengers. TRD Pro uses SofTex upholstery with technical-camouflage inserts and embroidered logos, rather than inheriting the leather description of other 2026 Limited packages. Heated and ventilated power front seats, driver memory, a heated TRD steering wheel, dual-zone climate control and a panoramic moonroof are included.
Front-seat comfort equipment does not mean heated and ventilated rear seats are included; those are listed for higher luxury grades. When comparing cabins, check rear-seat storage and child-seat installation with your own equipment, especially when considering the hybrid packaging.

Infotainment and connected services

A 14-inch Toyota Multimedia touchscreen supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. TRD Pro adds a 12-speaker JBL system and Active Noise Control, while a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and wireless phone charger complete the main technology package.
Connected services such as remote access and cloud navigation have service-specific trials, cellular requirements and possible subscription costs. Confirm the terms attached to the vehicle instead of treating every app feature as permanently included.
2026 Tundra Hybrid TRD Pro Canadian pricing
Toyota Canada’s August 11, 2025 launch pricing for the 2026 model lists C$89,326 MSRP and an estimated vehicle price of C$93,030 for TRD Pro. The estimate includes freight/PDI, air-conditioning charge and listed maximum dealer and other fees; taxes, licence, insurance and registration are excluded. This is a dated manufacturer reference, not a current dealer quotation.
For context, hybrid Limited TRD Off Road launched at C$80,145 MSRP, Platinum at C$86,345, 1794 at C$87,546 and Capstone at C$94,280. Compare an itemized current quote, including colour charges, accessories and financing, to establish the actual cost of the reviewed configuration.
Competition and buying considerations
Relevant alternatives to research include the Ford F-150 Tremor, Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2, GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X and Ram 1500 Rebel. These are comparison candidates rather than identical substitutes. Match cab and bed size, equipment, warranty, towing documentation and transaction price before deciding which belongs on your shortlist.
The TRD Pro’s main appeal on paper is its combination of hybrid output, dedicated suspension hardware and a well-equipped cabin. Its limitations include the single short-bed configuration, the premium over Limited TRD Off Road and fuel consumption above the regular Tundra hybrid rating. Buyers prioritizing a longer bed or rear-seat luxury should compare other Tundra packages as well.

Frequently asked questions
Is hybrid power standard on the 2026 Tundra TRD Pro?

How many seats does the Tundra TRD Pro have?
Its CrewMax cabin seats five. Heated and ventilated power front seats are included; that does not mean the rear seats have the same heating and ventilation equipment.
