2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 vs 2027 Genesis GV80 2.5T Advanced Technology: Canadian Seating and Preview Equipment

The 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 4MATIC and Genesis GV80 2.5T Advanced with Technology Package offer two different routes into a well-equipped luxury SUV. The Mercedes has a substantial announced technology update and an optional extra seating row. The selected Canadian Genesis already includes seven seats and several comfort and assistance features. That makes the decision more useful than a simple comparison of entry engines.

There is an important availability distinction. Mercedes Canada’s 2027 GLE preview says the updated model will arrive in dealerships during 2026, while its current GLE 350 model page still documents 2026. This article compares the announced 2027 specification only—not equipment silently borrowed from the older vehicle. Genesis provides a Canadian 2027 GV80 specification sheet. Confirm orderability, local delivery and the final Mercedes package list before treating this as a transaction-ready quote comparison.

Specify the seats before choosing the cabin finish

Genesis lists seven-passenger seating for the 2.5T Advanced Technology Package. Mercedes’ Canadian preview lists optional power-adjustable second- and third-row seats for the GLE SUV. Do not assume that a GLE shown with an extra row represents every GLE 350, or that an attractive base offer includes the seating arrangement your household requires.

If you regularly need more than five seats, ask to inspect that exact configuration. Check third-row access, foot space and the luggage remaining with all required seats occupied. Include the child seats, bags or mobility equipment that will actually travel with you. An occasional-use row should still be evaluated with its real passengers rather than judged from an empty cabin.

A five-seat GLE may remain the right answer if you never need the extra places. Conversely, the Genesis’ included row can simplify the specification when your use genuinely requires it. Neither conclusion establishes which vehicle has the more comfortable seats; that needs a direct seating trial.

The GLE’s new screens are not its old dashboard

The 2027 Mercedes preview identifies a standard MBUX Superscreen with three 12.3-inch displays and fourth-generation MBUX running on MB.OS. The panoramic sliding roof is standard; augmented-reality head-up display and Burmester audio are available. These are announced 2027 features, not reasons to expect the same equipment in remaining 2026 inventory.

Try the interfaces you will actually use, including changing temperature, setting a destination and letting the front passenger manage entertainment. Ask which functions depend on connectivity and whether any subscriptions follow an introductory period. More display area does not automatically mean fewer distractions or simpler operation.

The Genesis package puts comfort on the checklist

The selected GV80 includes heated front and rear seats, ventilated front seats, a panoramic roof, head-up display, surround-view monitor and Highway Driving Assist II. It uses a 27-inch OLED instrument-and-navigation display. That measurement covers an integrated cockpit, so it should not be compared directly with a single Mercedes screen diagonal.

Have each retailer mark those desired functions on a written equipment list. The Mercedes preview is not a complete Canadian ordering guide, so this article does not claim that an unlisted feature is absent. Where the Genesis specification is explicit and the GLE package boundary remains unresolved, obtain the final build details instead of filling the gap from another model year.

Four-cylinder engines do not settle the driving question

Mercedes identifies a 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder with an electric auxiliary compressor and integrated starter-generator for the GLE 350. Genesis specifies a 2.5-litre turbo four-cylinder, eight-speed automatic and AWD. Road-preview electronically controlled suspension is not included on this GV80 2.5T; it belongs to the 3.5T grades. Mercedes describes AIRMATIC as available, not an automatic feature of every GLE 350.

Compare the suspension and wheels actually fitted to the candidates. A demonstration in a more expensive configuration can be informative, but it cannot establish the ride of the vehicle on your quote. Use a representative route and assess response, visibility and braking without inferring a winner from displacement or the word hybrid.

Canadian pricing: start with the right package

Checked November 1, 2026: Genesis Canada lists the 2027 Genesis GV80 2.5T Advanced AWD with Technology Package from C$85,650 in Uyuni White. This is its advertised purchase price including fees and levies, not a bare MSRP. Sales taxes, registration, insurance, licensing and PPSA/RDPRM charges are extra. Other paint colours add C$900, or C$2,100 for matte paint; additional options may increase the total.

Get a current Canadian quote for the exact 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 configuration before calculating a price difference. Compare the same included charges and required options on both quotes.

A useful provisional shortlist

GV80 is the clearer starting point when its documented seven-seat comfort package meets your requirements. GLE 350 deserves attention when the updated interface and available seating configuration appeal, provided you can confirm the final Canadian build and delivery date. Do not mix a firm Genesis offer with an incomplete Mercedes preview price or assume an announced arrival window guarantees immediate stock. No towing, fuel-cost or measured comfort winner is claimed.

Keep model year, seating and preview-versus-installed equipment explicit. The vehicle quote and total-cost guide provides a written framework for that comparison.
