Models available

The 2026 Grand Cherokee L range includes Laredo, Laredo X, Altitude, Limited, 85th Anniversary Edition, Limited Reserve and Summit. Limited adds equipment such as heated second-row seating, upgraded audio and the new turbocharged engine. Limited Reserve and Summit add further convenience and luxury equipment. The shorter, two-row Grand Cherokee has five seats and different dimensions and fuel ratings.

Engine specifications and 4×4

The Canadian Limited uses the 2.0-litre Hurricane 4 Turbo, described in Jeep’s builder as the I4 Turbo GME EVO with Stop/Start. Output is 324 hp and 332 lb-ft, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. This is a gasoline powertrain, not a hybrid or plug-in hybrid.

Selec-Terrain traction management is included. Limited has normal-duty suspension with coil springs; the Quadra-Lift air suspension and Quadra-Drive II system highlighted on Summit should not be treated as standard Limited equipment. Engine choice also varies across the broader range: specifications for a Laredo V6 should not be substituted for this Limited.

Towing and payload

Jeep advertises maximum towing of 2,812 kg (6,200 lb) when properly equipped. Its base Limited comparison lists 1,588 kg (3,500 lb), making the equipment distinction essential. Do not assume every Limited can tow the headline maximum.

The optional Trailer Tow Package, listed at $695 in the Canadian builder includes a Class IV receiver, seven- and four-pin wiring, rear load-levelling suspension, a full-size spare with steel wheel and trailer hitch zoom. Confirm the completed vehicle’s towing rating, hitch requirements and allowable tongue weight before selecting a trailer.

The Canadian specification comparison lists a 2,948-kg gross vehicle weight rating and a 635-kg payload reference for Limited. Actual available carrying capacity depends on the individual build. Passengers, luggage, accessories and trailer tongue weight all use that allowance; the vehicle’s load label takes priority over a trim-page figure.

Fuel economy

Grand Cherokee L Limited is rated at 11.7 L/100 km city, 9.4 highway and 10.7 combined. Jeep lists regular gasoline and an 87.1-litre tank. These are the three-row L figures: the lower consumption advertised for some two-row models is not the correct rating for this vehicle.

At 20,000 km per year, the combined rating corresponds to approximately 2,140 litres of gasoline. Cold weather, short journeys, additional load and towing can increase actual consumption. Official figures are comparison estimates rather than a guarantee.

Safety and driver assistance

Standard equipment includes Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Forward Collision Warning with active braking, Active Lane Management, Blind-Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Path Detection, a rearview camera and rear ParkSense sensors. The Limited equipment list also includes Active Driving Assist, intersection collision assistance, traffic-sign recognition and automatic high-beam control. Active Driving Assist requires driver attention and should not be described as autonomous operation.

The optional Luxury Tech Group II adds a surround-view camera system, rear camera washer, front and rear ParkSense with stop, side-distance warning and an integrated off-road camera. A 360-degree view and front parking sensors therefore should not be presented as included on every Limited.

Other protection includes front airbags, front-seat side airbags, curtain airbags for all three rows, stability control with anti-rollover, traction control, four-wheel anti-lock braking and tire-specific pressure monitoring. Assistance systems have detection and operating limits.

Exterior and dimensions

Limited’s included wheel and tire combination is 18-inch polished/painted aluminum wheels with 265/60R18 all-season low-rolling-resistance tires. LED headlights, fog lamps, front corner lamps, heated mirrors and Silver Silk exterior accents are included. The standard mirror specification is manual folding, rather than power folding.

The L measures approximately 5,205 mm long, 1,969 mm wide and 1,816 mm high, with a 3,091-mm wheelbase. Its longer body is the main packaging difference from the two-row Grand Cherokee. A CommandView dual-pane panoramic sunroof is optional; it was listed at $1,695 in the checked builder.

Interior, seating and cargo

Standard seating is arranged 2+2+2 for six occupants, using second-row bucket seats and a 50/50 folding third-row bench. The optional second-row 60/40 bench with manual tip and slide, listed at $895, changes the arrangement to 2+3+2 for seven. Neither arrangement is an eight-seater.

Although Jeep’s marketing highlight uses “Capri leather-trimmed,” the Canadian builder identifies the included upholstery as Capri leatherette. Both front seats have eight-way power adjustment, and driver memory is included. Front and second-row seats are heated, as is the steering wheel. Automatic climate control includes separate rear controls.

Jeep publishes approximately 487 litres behind the third row, 46.9 cubic feet—about 1,328 litres—with the third row folded, and 2,396 litres with both rear rows folded. Rear legroom is approximately 1,001 mm and third-row legroom 770 mm. A power liftgate, remote start, ambient lighting and a 115-volt auxiliary outlet are included.

Infotainment and connectivity

Uconnect 5 NAV with a 12.3-inch touchscreen is included on Limited, along with the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth and HD Radio form part of the equipment list. Its nine amplified speakers plus subwoofer use a 506-watt amplifier; Jeep markets the arrangement as a nine-speaker premium audio system.

Third-row USB charging ports and 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot capability are included. SiriusXM and connected travel services may require subscriptions after their trials. A wireless charging pad is part of optional Luxury Tech Group II, rather than included in the base Limited build.

Canadian pricing and options

The Ontario builder showed $72,890 before discounts for a Bright White Limited with no added options. It applied $5,000 Consumer Cash for a displayed $67,890 estimated cash amount, with sales tax excluded. These CAD figures include the builder’s base charges and are not an equipment-only MSRP. Incentives, fees and transaction prices can change.

The same Canadian model selector displayed starting amounts of $60,890 for Laredo, $64,890 for Laredo X, $66,890 for Altitude, $71,890 for 85th Anniversary Edition, $73,390 for Limited Reserve and $82,390 for Summit. Those amounts reflect the site’s applicable discounts and should be compared on the same cash-purchase basis.

Selected option references were $695 for Trailer Tow, $1,995 for Luxury Tech Group II, $1,695 for the panoramic roof and $895 for the second-row bench. Paint and appearance packages can add further cost. Buyers seeking surround-view parking assistance or seven seats should account for those items rather than assuming they are covered by the Limited name.

Competition

Honda Pilot, Hyundai Palisade, Toyota Grand Highlander and Chevrolet Traverse are relevant three-row alternatives. Compare their actual seating configurations, space behind the third row and equipped towing ratings. Ford Explorer is another comparison for shoppers considering a turbocharged three-row SUV.

Within Jeep’s range, Limited Reserve is useful to compare when adding several convenience options to Limited. Summit includes more extensive equipment such as air suspension and a different four-wheel-drive system. The smaller two-row Grand Cherokee is a separate option for buyers who do not need the third row.
