Models Available

The Canadian 2026 Bronco Sport range includes Big Bend, Outer Banks, Heritage and Badlands. Badlands uses the 2.0-litre engine and advanced four-wheel-drive hardware rather than the 1.5-litre engine found in the other grades. It is a separate vehicle from the larger Bronco; its doors and roof do not offer the Bronco’s removable-panel arrangement.

Engine and Drivetrain

The turbocharged 2.0-litre EcoBoost four-cylinder produces 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, with Ford’s advertised output based on premium fuel. An eight-speed automatic and advanced 4×4 are standard. The twin-clutch rear drive unit can distribute torque between the rear wheels; it should not be described as the same axle arrangement used in a full-size Bronco.

Standard hardware includes HOSS 2.0 suspension, underbody bash plates, seven selectable terrain modes and Trail Control with Trail 1-Pedal Drive. The optional Sasquatch Badlands Package adds further equipment and HOSS 3.0 suspension; it is not fitted to every Badlands.

Towing and Fuel Economy

Ford advertises up to 2,700 lb of towing when properly equipped. The Canadian equipment list includes the Class II Trailer Tow Package with trailer sway control as standard on Badlands. Confirm the actual vehicle rating and account for passengers, cargo and tongue weight before loading a trailer.

The Canadian model page and NRCan’s 2026 2.0-litre Bronco Sport entry show 11.2 L/100 km city, 8.7 highway and 10.1 combined. Use the actual vehicle’s EnerGuide label for a heavily optioned configuration. These laboratory ratings are comparison figures rather than a promise of actual consumption.

Interior and Seating

Rear seat upholstery and headrests of the 2026 Ford Bronco Sport Badlands

Badlands seats five. The standard Canadian specification lists perforated ActiveX upholstery, heated front seats, an eight-way power driver seat and a six-way manual passenger seat. ActiveX is a synthetic material and should not be called leather. Dual-zone automatic climate control is included.

Rubberized flooring and cargo-area protection make the interior easier to organize around outdoor equipment. A 60/40 folding rear bench expands the load area, and storage beneath the rear passenger-side seat accommodates smaller items. A cargo shelf, divider and table system is an optional C$225 accessory configuration.

A power moonroof is optional at C$1,200. Alternative seating finishes and a power passenger seat depend on selected equipment. Buyers should check these items on the specific build rather than assuming that the Badlands badge includes every comfort feature.

Infotainment and Connectivity

A 13.2-inch SYNC 4 touchscreen and 12.3-inch instrument display are standard. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a six-speaker audio system, USB connections and a 5G modem provide the basic technology package. The included Ford Connectivity Package has a one-year term, and SiriusXM has a three-month trial.

The optional Badlands Tech Package is listed at C$2,995 and adds premium technology, including the 10-speaker B&O audio system with subwoofer. It should not be confused with the standard six-speaker system. Ford’s 400-watt Pro Power Onboard option is separately listed at C$300, useful for compatible equipment within its output limits.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 is standard. It includes adaptive cruise with stop-and-go and lane centring, predictive speed assistance and intersection assistance. Badlands also includes a 360-degree camera with Trail View and front and rear parking sensors.

Other listed systems include pre-collision assistance with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, rear cross-traffic braking, blind-spot assistance, clear exit warning and post-collision braking. These features assist an attentive driver and have operating limits.

Exterior and Sasquatch Options

The default Badlands builder uses 17-inch Matte Black aluminum wheels and 225/65R17 Continental all-terrain tires. The Sasquatch Badlands Package is listed at C$3,745 and changes the hardware and tire specification. Compare its complete contents and any required options before deciding whether the added equipment is necessary.

The fixed-roof, four-door layout makes this a different ownership proposition from the larger removable-roof Bronco. Optional brush guards, roof accessories and auxiliary-switch wiring allow further customization, but accessories also add weight and cost.

Pricing in CAD

The Canadian builder showed C$47,795 base MSRP for the 400A Badlands, plus C$2,495 in displayed fees, for C$50,290 before sales tax and registration. No extra-cost paint or additional package was selected in that reference build.

The C$2,995 Tech Package, C$3,745 Sasquatch Package and C$1,200 moonroof are separate price references. A configured vehicle can require additional changes when options are combined. The starting figure is not a confirmed as-tested price for the vehicle in the walkaround.

Competition

Compare the Badlands with the Subaru Forester Wilderness, Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness and Jeep Compass Trailhawk. Consider the cargo layout, required towing capacity, standard cameras and assistance, and whether additional off-road hardware is worth the cost. The Bronco Sport Outer Banks is another option for buyers who prioritize cabin amenities over the Badlands drivetrain and protection.

Choosing a Badlands

The 2026 Bronco Sport Badlands offers its own combination of compact dimensions, a larger turbocharged engine, advanced rear-drive hardware and standard towing equipment. The main upgrade decisions are Sasquatch capability, premium audio and navigation, and additional cabin options. Comparing complete configurations makes those choices clearer than comparing trim names alone.
