Models and Configuration

The 2026 Bronco lineup includes Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks, Badlands, Heritage Edition, Stroppe Edition and Raptor. Big Bend is a four-door model with five seats. It is distinct from the smaller Bronco Sport, which uses a different platform and powertrain lineup.

Canadian Big Bend models include the 222A Mid Package. The default configuration has a soft black cloth roof with hard-top preparation, cloth bucket seats and part-time four-wheel drive. Hard tops, appearance packages, Black Diamond and Sasquatch equipment are available at additional cost.

Engine Specifications

The Big Bend uses a 2.3-litre turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder. Ford advertises 300 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque using premium fuel. A seven-speed manual, including a low crawler gear, is standard. The optional ten-speed automatic is listed at C$1,695 in the Canadian builder. A 2.7-litre V6 is not listed as a Big Bend engine choice in this configuration.

The standard manual build has a 4.46 axle ratio and an open rear differential. Locking differentials and advanced four-wheel drive depend on added equipment. The standard HOSS 1.0 suspension and five selectable terrain modes should not be confused with the hardware fitted to an optional Sasquatch build.

Towing and Load Capacity

Open rear cargo area of the 2026 Ford Bronco Big Bend

Ford lists up to 3,500 lb of trailer capacity for a properly equipped Big Bend. The Canadian builder shows a C$965 optional Trailer Tow Package. Confirm the installed hitch, wiring and applicable vehicle rating before towing; the published maximum does not establish that a particular stock vehicle has all required equipment.

Passengers, cargo, accessories and trailer tongue weight all count against the vehicle’s load allowance. Check the door-label payload and owner’s manual limits when adding a roof rack or recovery gear rather than relying on a trim-wide payload assumption.

Fuel Economy

NRCan’s 2026 standard Bronco 4WD 2.3-litre entries are rated at 12.9 L/100 km city, 11.0 highway and 12.1 combined with the manual, or 12.9 city, 10.9 highway and 12.0 combined with the ten-speed automatic. The separate 2.3-litre Sasquatch entries are rated at 13.8 city, 12.4 highway and 13.2 combined. Use the rating for the actual tire and powertrain configuration.

Interior, Seating and Cargo

The five-seat cabin has heated cloth front seats with six-way manual adjustment for both occupants. Dual-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, ambient footwell lighting and a 60/40 folding rear bench are included. Carpeted flooring is standard; washout-capable flooring and marine-grade vinyl seating depend on optional equipment.

The folding rear seat expands the cargo area, while the side-hinged rear door and separately accessible rear opening affect how luggage is loaded. Roof selection also changes usable cargo dimensions and storage arrangements. Removable doors and roof panels require appropriate handling and a place to store them when detached.

Infotainment and Power Outlets

A 12-inch SYNC 4 centre touchscreen and 12-inch digital instrument display are standard. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, seven speakers including a subwoofer, front and rear USB connections and a 400-watt Pro Power Onboard outlet are included in Ford’s Canadian equipment list.

Connected navigation and the Ford Connectivity Package have included one-year terms, while SiriusXM has a three-month plan. Continued connected services can require payment. The standard seven-speaker system should not be described as the optional premium audio system offered on other Bronco grades.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Big Bend includes pre-collision assistance with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, a rear camera and automatic high beams. Stability control, rollover-related assistance and trailer sway control are also listed.

A 360-degree camera and adaptive cruise control should not be assumed from the Mid Package or Big Bend badge. These assistance features do not replace driver observation and remain subject to sensor and operating limitations.

Exterior and Optional Packages

The default build uses 17-inch Carbonized Grey aluminum wheels with 255/75R17 all-terrain tires, described by Ford as 32-inch tires. Sasquatch adds larger 35-inch tires and additional off-road hardware; the builder lists that package at C$8,075. The Black Diamond Package is listed at C$5,890. Package combinations can require other changes, so these should be evaluated in a complete build.

A Carbonized Grey moulded hard top is listed at C$1,945, while a Shadow Black painted hard top is C$2,945. Roof choice changes cost and day-to-day storage needs. The standard soft top already includes hard-top preparation, but that does not mean a hard top is supplied with the vehicle.

Pricing in CAD

The Canadian builder showed C$55,465 base MSRP for the manual-transmission Big Bend, plus C$2,695 in displayed fees, for C$58,160 before sales tax and registration. The automatic adds C$1,695 before any other configuration changes.

The starting price is a reference for the default build rather than an as-tested total for the video vehicle. Optional roof, paint, transmission, towing equipment and packages can materially change the price. Compare itemized dealer quotes with the same equipment.

Competition

The Jeep Wrangler Sport S is the closest alternative for buyers seeking removable doors and roof panels. A Toyota 4Runner is also worth comparing for body-on-frame utility, although its fixed-roof layout differs. For buyers who mainly want Bronco styling and a smaller vehicle, the separate Bronco Sport deserves consideration. Compare cargo access, seating, towing equipment and the final configuration price.

Choosing a Big Bend

The Big Bend is a useful starting point for buyers who want heated seats, dual-zone climate control and smartphone integration without moving directly to a higher Bronco grade. The key choices are manual versus automatic, roof type and whether the optional off-road packages solve a specific need. Those decisions also affect fuel economy, tires and the final price.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Bronco Big Bend have a standard automatic transmission?

No. A seven-speed manual, including a crawler gear, is standard. A ten-speed automatic is optional on the Canadian configuration covered here.

Can I choose a V6 in this Bronco Big Bend?

The checked Canadian configuration lists the 2.3-litre EcoBoost four-cylinder. A 2.7-litre V6 should not be assumed available simply because it is offered on other Bronco trims.

Does every Big Bend include Sasquatch equipment?

No. Sasquatch is an optional package. Locking differentials and upgraded suspension should not be credited to a standard Big Bend without checking its equipment list.
