The Colorado WT and Gladiator Sport S are useful alternatives for a buyer who wants a four-door pickup without immediately moving into a premium trim. But a well-equipped Sport S can conceal how much of its comfort equipment was added separately. This comparison starts with the documented baseline, then explains what needs checking on the truck you actually consider.
The Chevrolet is a Canadian 2026 Colorado WT Crew Cab 4WD. The Jeep is a Canadian 2027 Gladiator Sport S 4×4, supported by a manufacturer window sticker for VIN 1C6PJTAGXVL555589. The mixed years are intentional: exact 2027 Canadian Colorado equipment was not established, so verified 2026 specifications are used. The Jeep sticker documents a configuration; it is not a current stock or transaction-price promise.
A turbo four versus a naturally aspirated V6
Chevrolet lists its TurboMax engine and eight-speed automatic for the selected WT. Jeep’s Canadian sticker identifies a 3.6-litre Pentastar VVT V6 with stop/start and an eight-speed automatic. The Chevrolet’s standard single-speed Autotrac case has 2HI, Auto and 4HI settings. This article does not invent a fuel-cost or towing winner from engine layout. Chevrolet Canada WT configuration; Jeep Canadian manufacturer sticker.
Drive both in the conditions you encounter most often: gentle acceleration, a short merge and a steady-speed stretch. Listen with the audio off and the cabin set normally. The response you enjoy during a brief demonstration may not be the one every regular driver prefers. Neither cylinder count nor the presence of a turbocharger establishes reliability, refinement or economy by itself.
Sport S does not mean all the pictured comfort is standard
The Jeep sticker lists cloth bucket seats, manual air conditioning, a 12.3-inch Uconnect display and eight-speaker audio in the baseline. Its Convenience Group separately adds heated front seats, a heated wheel, automatic climate control and remote start. The Technology Group adds Alpine audio and a 115-volt outlet. The black hardtop and LED headlamp/fog-lamp group are separate options on this example. Standard and optional equipment columns.
That is why a single photograph or an optioned vehicle’s total price is a poor starting point for comparing trims. Write down the roof, lighting and cabin equipment you require. Then ask the retailer to mark each item on the order or sticker. If you want the demonstrated configuration, price that configuration—not an unoptioned Sport S that happens to carry the same name.
Evaluate the roof arrangement as part of everyday ownership. Check the operation, storage requirements and manufacturer’s instructions for the exact roof supplied. Think about where removable components would be kept, whether everyone who drives the truck can manage the process and whether it fits your parking situation. Do not let the appeal of a demonstration replace those practical questions.
The Chevrolet baseline is different, not automatically better
WT lists carpeted flooring, cloth upholstery, a six-way manual driver’s seat, tilt-only steering adjustment and manual single-zone climate control. It has an 11.3-inch centre screen and an 11-inch driver information display. Those are the selected WT’s features, not a promise that comfort equipment from Colorado LT is included. Chevrolet Canada WT standard features.
Set the driving position before spending time on the screens. Check pedal reach, steering reach and entry for each regular driver. Then sit in the back with the front seat still properly positioned. A larger display in either location does not compensate for an uncomfortable seat or controls that are awkward for you to reach.
What the optioned Jeep actually adds to the budget
The Canadian Sport S sticker used here starts at C$52,495 and totals C$61,620. The C$9,125 difference comprises C$6,630 of priced options, C$2,395 destination and C$100 federal air-conditioning excise tax. The options include C$2,095 each for the Convenience Group and black hardtop. Sales taxes, licence, dealer-supplied accessories and any applicable luxury surcharge are excluded. These are manufacturer sticker amounts for this VIN, not a dealer offer. Canadian Sport S price breakdown.
The useful comparison is therefore between the completed trucks you would buy. If the hardtop and heated cabin equipment are essential, retain their cost in the Jeep column. If they are not, do not let this optioned example set your minimum budget. No matched Colorado transaction price has been verified, so there is no supported dollar saving between brands here.
Use our vehicle quote comparison guide to keep roof, cabin packages, installed accessories and borrowing costs visible in each offer. Obtain insurance quotes for the actual configurations and ask separately about any optional equipment you expect to protect. A manufacturer sticker is not an insurance valuation or a promise about your policy coverage.
Compare the completed truck, not a model-range maximum
For towing or hauling, use the actual vehicle label and configuration-specific documentation. Account for passengers, cargo, accessories and loaded trailer tongue weight. Verify hitch, wiring and brake-control requirements separately; do not infer them from a display menu or a brand’s advertised maximum. Neither the sticker used here nor a trim badge establishes the right capacity for an unidentified vehicle.
Shortlist Colorado WT if its cabin layout and selected drive-system configuration suit your everyday requirements. Shortlist Sport S if its particular body and roof arrangement appeals, then keep every desired option visible in the budget. Compare complete Canadian quotes on the same basis and drive the configurations being quoted. The best choice is the one that solves your actual routine, not the one whose demonstration truck hides the most extra equipment.
This comparison uses manufacturer specifications to assess equipment and buying considerations.
