The 2023 Ford F-150 Lariat is the point in the range where cabin comfort becomes a major part of the buying decision. It can be a more sensible target than a flagship trim when you want heated and ventilated seating and modern infotainment, but do not need the distinctive interior treatment of King Ranch.
Watch our 2023 F-150 Lariat video below, followed by Canadian specifications and a comparison with XLT and King Ranch.

Models and powertrain choices
The Canadian 2023 order guide lists Lariat in SuperCrew form, with 501A and 502A equipment groups. Its engine choices include 2.7L EcoBoost, 3.5L EcoBoost, 5.0L V8 and 3.5L PowerBoost hybrid configurations, paired with ten-speed transmissions. Availability depends on the selected configuration. Decide what the truck must carry or tow before choosing an engine. A higher trim does not establish payload or trailer capacity. The relevant information is the actual truck’s engine, axle, equipment and certification labels, together with the applicable towing chart. A comfortable cabin cannot compensate for buying a configuration that does not suit the load.
Cabin and infotainment
Lariat’s Canadian equipment includes heated and ventilated leather-trimmed front seats, a 12-inch SYNC 4 touchscreen and an eight-speaker B&O system. The 502A group changes the equipment mix; do not assume every Lariat contains every feature advertised for the upper group. Canadian Lariat equipment.
For a used example, test the seat heating and ventilation separately, pair your phone and check the camera view. Bring the devices and cables you normally use. The best trim choice is the one that handles your daily routine, not simply the one with the longest equipment list.
Driver assistance and packages
Ford’s guide treats Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 differently between 501A and 502A. BlueCruise belongs to a separate available Active 2.0 package, not a blanket promise attached to the Lariat badge. Confirm installed equipment and service availability for the specific truck. Package requirements.

Canadian trim comparison and pricing
Historical 2023 Canadian base references checked October 29, 2026. This comparison uses 4WD SuperCrew trucks with 6.5-foot beds. Original price-effective dates are not stated. Freight of $2,295 is listed separately; options, dealer charges, taxes and licensing are extra. These are not current quotes or the review vehicle’s price.
| Trim | CAD base reference | Difference from Lariat | Reason to consider |
|---|---|---|---|
| XLT | $62,900 | Save $14,425 | Cloth cabin; heated/ventilated leather seating is a reason to step up to Lariat |
| Lariat | $77,325 | Reference | Heated/ventilated leather-trimmed seats and SYNC 4 |
| King Ranch | $89,465 | Add $12,140 | Mesa leather, heated rear seats, power running boards and 18-speaker B&O audio |
Historical price cross-check: Unhaggle and CarCostCanada. Engine and option content are not normalized, so the differences are catalogue starting-price gaps, not the price of changing only the trim.
Buying verdict
Lariat is worth prioritizing if the seats and technology are features you will use every week. Compare a well-equipped XLT and the exact Lariat you are considering before paying for a higher badge. King Ranch makes a different case around its cabin character and convenience equipment; it is not automatically necessary to obtain a useful family or towing truck.
