2023 Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn: Features & Canadian Buying Guide

The 2023 Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn puts its emphasis on cabin materials and detailing. The useful question is not whether it has the longest equipment list, but whether its particular mix is worth choosing over Laramie or Limited when condition, options and price are taken into account.

Engine and transmission

The Canadian brochure lists the 5.7-litre HEMI V8 with an eight-speed automatic, with an eTorque version also offered. Published V8 output is 395 hp and 410 lb-ft. Both versions appear in the model range; confirm which is fitted before using a fuel rating. Canadian 2023 Ram 1500 brochure.

Interior and technology

Compared with Laramie’s leather-faced front bench, Limited Longhorn brings full-leather front buckets and a full-length console. Its heated, reclining second row and 12-inch centre and instrument displays round out the cabin. Four-corner air suspension, a panoramic roof and the multifunction tailgate remain options rather than automatic equipment. Canadian Laramie and Longhorn specifications, pages 29–31.

Towing and payload

Do not use a lineup-wide maximum as the rating of a luxury-equipped example. Establish the exact cab, box, axle, engine, hitch and vehicle loading limits from the build and labels. Add passengers, luggage, accessories and trailer tongue weight to the load calculation before choosing a trailer.

Fuel economy and ownership costs

Fuel consumption depends on the HEMI/eTorque configuration and drivetrain. Use the matching Canadian model-year rating; the Longhorn badge alone does not identify that combination.

Canadian trim comparison

Historical Canadian catalogue MSRP references below were checked October 29, 2026. All three are Crew Cab 4×4 with the 5-foot-7 box and base catalogue equipment; they are not the filmed truck’s verified configuration. The original price effective date is unknown. Optional engines/eTorque, packages, destination, taxes and applicable fees must be itemized separately. These are not launch-price claims, current offers or used-vehicle values.

Source: Canadian 2023 catalogue. Longhorn is $4,970 above Laramie and $11,950 above Sport in this reference. These are base-configuration differences, not a quote for adding the Longhorn interior to another truck. Match the engine, eTorque status, bed and option groups before comparing actual offers.

Buying verdict

Limited Longhorn makes the strongest case when its leather cabin and rear-seat comfort are features you will use. Compare an optioned Laramie before paying more for the Longhorn treatment, and do not assume the higher trim brings a higher towing or payload rating. For a used truck, match the engine, box and equipment, then weigh condition and service history against the asking price.

Before buying, ask a Ram dealer to check the VIN and completed recall repairs. Transport Canada recall 2024503 includes certain 2023 Ram 1500 trucks: a software fault can stop electronic stability control from working, increasing crash risk. The fault can also trigger ABS, stability-control, adaptive-cruise and forward-collision warning lights. The dealer remedy is an ABS control-module software update. The Longhorn badge alone does not establish applicability or repair status, and this is not a complete recall list.
