The 2023 Ford F-150 Tremor adds off-road shocks, skid plates and a locking rear axle to a four-wheel-drive SuperCrew pickup. It is a trail-focused alternative to a comfort-oriented Lariat, with engine and equipment-group choices that affect both price and running costs.
Our 2023 Tremor video is below, followed by Canadian engine choices, off-road equipment and a comparison with Lariat.

Configuration and engines
The Canadian Tremor reference is a four-wheel-drive SuperCrew with a 5.5-foot box and ten-speed automatic. Canadian certification records include both 3.5L V6 and 5.0L V8 Tremor variants, including separate entries without automatic stop-start. Canadian order-guide configuration; NRCan 2023 records.
The 3.5L EcoBoost is rated at 400 horsepower and 500 lb-ft. A 5.0L listing is a different engine configuration, not simply another name for the same powertrain. Canadian Ford dealer 3.5L reference.
When shopping, confirm the actual engine and equipment codes before comparing prices or consumption figures. Early order documents and general F-150 pages can differ from a later-built truck. A window sticker and vehicle identification are more useful than assuming all 2023 Tremors have one engine.
Tremor hardware
Ford’s Canadian guide lists off-road front and rear shocks, skid plates, a 3.73 electronic-locking rear axle and Tremor-specific front suspension components. This is more than an appearance treatment. Canadian Tremor equipment.
Cabin technology and equipment groups
The Canadian guide lists a 12-inch SYNC 4 touchscreen for Tremor. Higher equipment groups and separate options still need checking, so do not assume every truck has the same seats, cameras, audio or driver-assistance package. Canadian cabin and equipment-group guide.
Bed, payload and towing
Towing capacity must come from the exact configuration, not the highest F-150 figure in an advertisement. Have the seller verify the truck’s limits and equipment, then include passengers, accessories, bed cargo and trailer tongue weight in the payload calculation. More engine torque is not a substitute for that check.
Fuel consumption
| 2023 Tremor 4×4 gasoline configuration | City | Highway | Combined |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3.5L with stop-start | 14.3 | 11.8 | 13.1 |
| 3.5L without stop-start | 14.6 | 11.6 | 13.3 |
| 5.0L with stop-start | 15.2 | 11.9 | 13.7 |
| 5.0L without stop-start | 15.4 | 11.8 | 13.8 |
L/100 km from NRCan’s exact 2023 Tremor rows. Tremor has separate ratings from the ordinary F-150 4×4. The V8 also has separate E85 certification entries; this table uses gasoline. Match the engine and stop-start specification when budgeting.
Canadian trim comparison and pricing
Historical Canadian dealer catalogue figures checked October 29, 2026. The page excludes tax but does not itemize freight/PDI or other charges; confirm those on a complete quote. Original effective dates are not stated. These are not launch MSRPs, current offers or the price of the filmed vehicle.
| Catalogue configuration | CAD reference | What to compare |
|---|---|---|
| Lariat: 2WD SuperCrew, 5.5-foot box | $72,145 | Heated/ventilated leather seating and 12-inch SYNC 4; different drivetrain |
| Tremor: 4WD SuperCrew, 5.5-foot box | $77,890 | Off-road shocks, skid plates and 3.73 electronic-locking rear axle |
Source: Dunlop Ford’s 2023 comparison. The displayed $5,745 difference is not a like-for-like trim upgrade: the Lariat is two-wheel drive and the page does not establish matched engine/options. Buying verdict
Tremor belongs on the shortlist when its trail-oriented equipment is a genuine requirement and the SuperCrew short-bed layout fits your life. Compare a Ram Rebel or another similarly equipped pickup, but match powertrain, payload needs and final pricing. A test drive can help decide whether its road manners suit your routine.
