The 2023 Honda CR-V Touring Hybrid combines the top Canadian trim with the hybrid powertrain. That makes its price comparison more involved than paying for a few extra cabin features: the EX-L below it uses a different engine. Buyers should consider equipment and fuel use separately before choosing.

Engine and transmission
Touring Hybrid combines a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with electric assistance for 204 system horsepower, an e-CVT and all-wheel drive. Canadian specifications call for regular gasoline. Honda Canada’s 2023 specifications.
Interior and technology
The EX-L already includes leather seats, a nine-inch touchscreen, wireless phone integration and wireless charging. Touring Hybrid adds the hybrid drivetrain, 19-inch wheels, Bose audio and built-in navigation. Honda Canada’s launch equipment comparison.
For day-to-day use, try the navigation alongside your preferred phone app, and listen to the audio at a comfortable volume. Confirm how connected functions are activated and whether they need a paid service. Do not pay for a feature merely because it appears on a brochure if you will not use it.
Practical considerations
Honda lists a tire-repair kit for Touring Hybrid rather than the compact spare supplied on the gas grades. Published towing capacity is 453 kg for the hybrid versus 680 kg for the gas models, subject to proper equipment. Canadian chassis and towing specifications.
The tire equipment is worth checking physically, particularly on a used example: confirm the kit is present and usable. If towing is part of the plan, check the owner’s instructions and the exact hitch and loading requirements before buying a trailer. Do not apply the gas version’s limit to the hybrid.
Fuel economy
NRCan rates the 2023 CR-V Hybrid AWD at 6.0 L/100 km city, 6.9 highway and 6.4 combined. The 2023 gas AWD CR-V is rated at 8.4 combined. These are comparison figures, not results from our video. NRCan historical fuel-consumption data.
At an illustrative 20,000 km annually, 6.4 versus 8.4 L/100 km means 1,280 versus 1,680 litres: a 400-litre difference. Multiply that by your assumed fuel price, then consider your actual driving mix. It is not a guaranteed saving, and the purchase-price difference also pays for equipment rather than only the hybrid system.
Canadian trim comparison
Honda’s September 21, 2022 launch MSRP for Canadian 2023 AWD models, checked October 29, 2026. Prices exclude the $1,950 destination charge, taxes, licensing, registration and options. They are not current used asking prices. Original Canadian pricing.
| AWD grade | Original MSRP CAD | Comparison |
|---|---|---|
| Sport | $41,490 | Gas engine; lower-cost alternative |
| EX-L | $43,390 | Gas engine; leather seats, 9-inch screen, wireless phone projection/charging; +$1,900 over Sport |
| Touring Hybrid | $48,890 | Hybrid, 19-inch wheels, Bose and navigation; +$5,500 over EX-L |
Which one should you choose?
Touring Hybrid makes the strongest case when its equipment and expected fuel use both suit your needs. EX-L remains a useful comparison if its cabin already does everything you require. Calculate with the actual vehicles’ asking prices rather than assuming the original surcharge still applies.
Check passenger access and luggage fit in person. Before purchasing, review service records, recalls and history, obtain an independent inspection and price insurance for the actual vehicle. A top-trim badge should not distract from worn tires, missing accessories or an unclear maintenance record.
