2024 Ford F-150 Raptor: V6 Specs & Canadian Buying Guide

The 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor pairs a 450-horsepower high-output V6 with long-travel suspension, protective skid plates and dedicated off-road hardware. It makes a different trade-off from a luxury-trim F-150: specialized capability comes with higher fuel consumption and more expensive replacement tires.

Watch our 2024 Raptor video below. This guide covers the high-output V6 model; the supercharged-V8 Raptor R is a separate configuration.

Engine and transmission

The 3.5L high-output EcoBoost V6 is rated at 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft. It is paired with a ten-speed automatic and four-wheel drive. Canadian Raptor V6 specification.

That separates it from the ordinary 3.5L EcoBoost and from Raptor R. A listing that simply says “3.5L” is not enough to compare outputs across the F-150 range. Ask for the original build information, particularly if a used truck has been modified or its advertisement uses generic model specifications.

Off-road equipment

The Canadian model information identifies a high-lock transfer case, protective skid plates and long-travel suspension, with FOX shock technology among the Raptor equipment. Canadian Raptor overview.

Used-truck inspection

For a used example, have an independent inspection pay particular attention to the underbody, suspension, tires and signs of previous modifications. Ask what has been replaced, whether alignment records are available and whether the original equipment is still fitted. A clean-looking cabin does not establish how a performance-oriented pickup was used.

Fuel consumption

These are the NRCan 2024 Raptor figures; actual consumption varies with use. The separate Raptor R row is not used. At 20,000 km, the combined figure represents approximately 3,000 litres before allowing for your actual use.

Same-dealer 2024 comparison. The gap covers more than a badge or engine tune. It is not a quote for converting one into the other, and optional packages can materially change either total.

Towing and buying verdict

Do not apply the F-150 range’s headline maximum tow rating to a Raptor. Confirm the exact truck’s rating, payload label, hitch equipment and loaded trailer weight before buying it for towing. Off-road positioning and towing suitability are separate questions.

The Raptor makes the most sense when its particular equipment is the reason for the purchase. If the priority is regular family transport, bed space or a comfortable cabin, compare a less specialized F-150 first. Our video can help you inspect the design; an inspection, test drive and written operating-cost budget should decide whether this version fits your needs.
