Before driving or arranging a test drive, ask Ford to confirm the truck’s VIN and repair status for Transport Canada recall 2025322. Certain 2025 F-450 Super Duty pickups may have a missing spring securing the brake-booster pushrod to the brake pedal, allowing detachment and loss of brakes. If the recall applies and repairs are outstanding, Ford advises not driving the truck until recall repairs are complete. Contact a dealer to arrange an inspection and brake-pedal-assembly repair as necessary. This notice does not establish that the vehicle in the video is affected.
Ask Ford to check the truck’s VIN, installed trailer module and completed repairs for Transport Canada recall 2026079. Certain 2025 F-450 Super Duty vehicles have integrated trailer module software that can prevent trailer lights from working and, on some vehicles, disable trailer brakes. The fault can display a trailer-brake-module warning and cause the turn-signal indicator to flash rapidly. Ford provides an over-the-air software update for eligible vehicles or a dealership update. This is a separate campaign and does not relax the brake-pushrod no-drive instruction above.
Transport Canada recall 2026480 includes certain 2025 F-450 Super Duty vehicles whose speedometer and tachometer may not work correctly. An incorrect speed reading can increase crash risk. Ask Ford to confirm whether this recall applies to the actual truck and whether the instrument-cluster replacement is complete. This campaign calls for dealer replacement of the cluster, not a software-only update. It does not relax the separate brake-pushrod no-drive instruction above.
The 2025 Ford F-450 Lariat pairs the diesel dually pickup platform with ActiveX seating and a digital instrument display. Moving higher brings leather cabin treatments and additional convenience equipment, but the right engine, hitch and payload specification should come before the trim badge.
Our 2025 F-450 Lariat dually video is below. This guide covers the factory pickup with an eight-foot box, not the F-450 chassis cab.

Engine and transmission
The F-450 pickup uses a 6.7L Power Stroke diesel V8 and ten-speed automatic. Match the exact diesel specification to the truck’s build information rather than assuming it from the Lariat badge. Canadian F-450 diesel and transmission reference.
Match the engine, axle and trailer equipment before comparing capacity or price. The historical trim prices below do not establish identical optional equipment.
Lariat interior
A Canadian 2025 Lariat reference-vehicle listing identifies ActiveX synthetic seating rather than leather; this is not confirmation of the filmed truck’s build. Canadian Lariat reference-vehicle equipment. Lariat also has a digital instrument cluster and 12-inch centre touchscreen. XLT provides a cloth cabin and eight-inch centre touchscreen; Lariat’s larger centre display and upgraded upholstery create a clearer comfort-and-technology step. Canadian display and XLT equipment reference.
Dually size and everyday use
The rear-wheel arrangement deserves attention before purchase. Measure your parking area, gate and regular access routes, and inspect clearance with the mirrors positioned as you expect to use them. Include room to open the doors and reach equipment in the bed, not merely enough space to park the truck.
Towing and payload checks
Use the exact truck’s labels, build information and matching towing guide. Confirm whether the planned connection is conventional, fifth-wheel or gooseneck, and account for occupants, cargo, accessories and trailer load transferred to the truck. The range-wide maximum is not the rating for every F-450.
What King Ranch and Platinum add
King Ranch changes the cabin to its Kingsville leather treatment. Platinum uses its own leather cabin with multi-contour seating. Canadian 2025 catalogues list massage-seat functionality, power-retractable running boards and an integrated tailgate step on both upper trims. These are comfort and access upgrades, not a promise of higher payload. Canadian King Ranch equipment; Canadian Platinum equipment.
At the historical base references below, King Ranch costs $11,016 more than Lariat and Platinum costs $12,256 more. The $1,240 step from King Ranch to Platinum chiefly calls for comparing their cabin and exterior treatments: both already have the upper-trim seat and access features listed here. A Lariat with added packages can overlap with some of those conveniences, so the starting-price difference is not the price of leather alone.
Canadian trim comparison and pricing
The following are historical Canadian base-MSRP references from CarCostCanada’s exact-2025 pickup catalogue, checked October 29, 2026. Original effective dates were not established. Every row is a 4WD Crew Cab with an eight-foot box. Freight of $2,395 is separately listed for each; taxes, dealer charges and options are not included.
| F-450 pickup trim | Base reference, CAD | Difference from Lariat | Equipment differences |

| King Ranch | $121,420 | Add $11,016 | Kingsville leather, massage-seat functionality, power running boards and tailgate step |

The figures match a 4WD Crew Cab pickup with an eight-foot box, but the price catalogue does not itemize engine-option codes. Treat them as starting-price gaps, not a like-for-like quotation for the high-output diesel or an Ultimate-equipped Lariat. A matched Canadian build should identify which engine and packages are being priced.
Fuel costs and buying verdict
Fuel budgeting should distinguish empty commuting from loaded towing. Annual distance, load, maintenance and the six road tires all contribute to ownership cost; a light-duty F-150 rating is not an appropriate substitute for the F-450.
The F-450 Lariat is worth considering when the pickup configuration fits the work and its cabin equipment earns its place in the budget. If capability is the priority, confirm that first and choose trim second. For a used example, service records, an independent inspection and the condition of towing-related components are essential parts of the comparison.
