2025 GMC Yukon AT4: Specs, Features & Canadian Pricing

The 2025 GMC Yukon AT4 is the terrain-oriented alternative to Elevation and Denali in the standard-length Yukon lineup. It combines a different chassis and tire package with everyday comfort features, without automatically including everything from AT4 Ultimate. That distinction matters when comparing heavily optioned examples.

Models available

AT4 is a trim, while XL identifies the extended body. This article concerns standard-length Yukon. Elevation, Denali and AT4 Ultimate offer different equipment mixes. Match the body style and equipment before comparing purchase costs.

Engine and transmission

The Canadian AT4 catalog lists a 5.3-litre V8 as standard, with a ten-speed automatic and four-wheel drive. A 6.2-litre V8 and 3.0-litre Duramax diesel are optional. GMC announced the updated diesel for 2025 with late availability. AT4 engine choices; Canadian 2025 announcement.

The 5.3-litre V8 is rated at 355 hp and 383 lb-ft. The 6.2-litre V8 produces 420 hp and 460 lb-ft, while the diesel is rated at 305 hp and 495 lb-ft. Confirm the fitted engine on the individual vehicle’s build sheet. Canadian 5.3-litre specification; Canadian 6.2-litre and diesel specifications.

Suspension and terrain equipment

The AT4’s Canadian equipment list includes a two-speed transfer case, Magnetic Ride Control, a front skid plate and 20-inch all-terrain tires. Air Ride Adaptive Suspension and an electronic limited-slip differential are listed separately as options. Do not describe every AT4 as having air suspension simply because AT4 Ultimate includes it. Standard and optional chassis equipment.

Choose the configuration around the roads and trails you actually use. Before buying a used example, inspect the tires, underbody and suspension operation, and review its maintenance history. A terrain-oriented badge does not establish how a previous owner used the vehicle or whether it has the options you want.

Towing and payload

An integrated trailer brake controller and Max Trailering Package appear among the AT4’s available equipment. Confirm the installed build and rating before selecting a trailer; do not assume the Yukon range’s maximum applies to every engine and package combination. Trailering equipment availability.

Check the actual payload label as well as the tow rating. Passengers, cargo, accessories and trailer tongue weight all matter. If family travel and towing will happen together, calculate the loaded configuration rather than starting with an empty-vehicle advertising number.

Fuel economy

NRCan’s 2025 standard-length Yukon 4WD reference rows are below. They are grouped by engine rather than AT4 trim. NRCan 2025 data.

EngineCity L/100 kmHighwayCombined
5.3L V815.912.514.4
6.2L V816.613.015.0
3.0L diesel11.59.710.7

At an illustrative 20,000 km a year, the 5.3-litre combined rating represents 2,880 litres. At an assumed $1.60 per litre, that would be $4,608. Treat this as a calculation, not a pump-price quote or a promise; winter use, idling, terrain, towing and loading can change consumption.

Interior and technology

The AT4 catalog lists heated and ventilated front seats, a heated second-row bench and a power-folding third row. Second-row bucket seats are optional. The seating layout should be checked directly before planning child-seat placement or access to the back. Canadian AT4 seating specifications.

A 16.8-inch infotainment display and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto capability are listed. The head-up display and Super Cruise are options, not universal AT4 features. AT4 technology availability.

When Super Cruise is fitted, it requires compatible roads, an active trial or paid plan and an attentive driver. The trial described at launch starts at delivery. A used vehicle’s trim badge does not tell you how much service remains, and the system is not autonomous driving. Super Cruise operating conditions.

Is AT4 the right balance?

AT4 is worth comparing if its terrain-related equipment is useful to you but the Ultimate’s extra features are not essential. Identify the options you want on AT4 before comparing it with AT4 Ultimate. The standard engine changes too, so the distinction is not limited to cabin features.
