The 2025 Cadillac Escalade ESV Sport Platinum combines the extended-length Escalade body with the upper-level Platinum equipment package. It is the gas-powered model, not the electric Escalade IQ, and Sport Platinum is the 2025 trim name. The central buying decision is whether you need the ESV body and Platinum equipment—not simply whether you want the most expensive Escalade badge.
Our video below covers the 2025 ESV Sport Platinum. Compare the Canadian ESV equipment levels, powertrain and equipment differences below.

Models available
Cadillac’s 2025 lineup includes Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury Platinum, Sport Platinum and V-Series. The ESV is the extended-length body. Keep body style and model year constant when comparing prices: a shorter Escalade, a later Platinum Sport, and an electric IQ are not equivalent configurations. Canadian 2025 ESV trim listings.
Engine and transmission
The Canadian 2025 gas Escalade uses a naturally aspirated 6.2-litre V8 rated at 420 hp and 460 lb-ft, paired with a ten-speed automatic. The ESV Sport Platinum is listed as four-wheel drive. V-Series is a separate supercharged performance model; buying Sport Platinum does not give you the V-Series engine. Canadian Cadillac dealer powertrain guide; ESV Sport Platinum configuration.
Towing and payload
Do not use a towing number for a short-wheelbase Escalade or a V-Series as the rating for this ESV. Ask for the exact vehicle’s trailering documentation and check its payload label. Passengers, luggage and trailer tongue weight all count against the available carrying capacity.
Fuel economy
The Canadian ESV Sport Platinum listing gives estimated consumption of 16.6 L/100 km city, 13.0 highway and 15.0 combined. NRCan’s 2025 file lists the 6.2-litre, ten-speed Escalade 4WD at the same figures, without a separate ESV-named row. Actual consumption varies with conditions and use. At an illustrative 20,000 km per year, 15.0 L/100 km means 3,000 litres. At an assumed $1.85 per litre, that is $5,550 annually. This is a budgeting calculation, not a current pump-price quote or a prediction of your costs; winter conditions, idling, traffic, loads and driving habits can change consumption.
Interior and everyday practicality
The Canadian Sport Platinum listing includes leather seating with a massage function, a panoramic roof and power-retractable running boards. These are useful features to check in person rather than treating the trim badge as proof that every mechanism operates correctly. Canadian Sport Platinum equipment listing.
Screens, technology and driver assistance
The 2025 update introduces a 55-inch total-diagonal display layout, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Cadillac also announced an optional Executive Second Row package; its presence should not be assumed from the Platinum badge. Cadillac Canada technology announcement.
Cadillac lists Super Cruise capability across the 2025 range with a three-year trial from delivery. It requires compatible roads and an active trial or paid subscription, plus suitable operating conditions. The driver must stay attentive; this is not autonomous driving. Cadillac’s Canadian 2025 announcement lists Night Vision as standard on Platinum trims. Check the original build sheet for production exclusions on an individual vehicle. A visible camera alone does not establish that Night Vision is fitted or functioning. 2025 Night Vision availability.
Canadian trim comparison: what does the extra money buy?
Current Canadian manufacturer pricing for these exact 2025 configurations has not been verified as of October 31, 2026. Vehicle prices and price differences are therefore omitted; the chart compares equipment only.
| 2025 ESV trim | Why compare it? |
|---|---|
| Luxury | 55-inch total-diagonal display and 19-speaker AKG audio; head-up display and Magnetic Ride Control become standard on Sport. |
| Sport | Adds published head-up display and Magnetic Ride Control over Luxury; compare Platinum extras before stepping up. |
| Premium Luxury Platinum | Platinum equipment with the published illuminated grille surround; an alternative appearance treatment. |
| Sport Platinum | Adds published Night Vision and power opening/closing doors over Sport; same naturally aspirated V8. |
Obtain itemized quotes with the same options and fee treatment. Platinum adds published equipment such as power opening/closing doors and Night Vision; compare those benefits against a lower trim configured with only the features you will use. Published Platinum feature distinctions.
Neither automatically offers better value for every buyer: confirm the exterior and interior combination, seat configuration and optional packages before deciding. Keep dealer discounts and used-vehicle condition separate from a new-vehicle trim comparison.
Who should consider the ESV Sport Platinum?
It makes sense to shortlist this model if you want the extended body and its upper-level equipment together. If the extra features are not priorities, the ESV Sport is the useful lower-cost comparison. If garage space is tight, evaluate the shorter Escalade separately instead of assuming the ESV is the better choice just because it is larger.
