2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ Sport 2: Specs, Features & Canadian Pricing

The 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ Sport 2 combines a seven-seat electric SUV with four-wheel steering, air suspension and a 55-inch-total-diagonal front display. Sport 2’s strongest equipment distinctions are its 19.2-kW onboard AC charging, power-assisted doors, massaging front seats and 36-speaker audio system. The optional Executive Second Row remains a separate decision.

This guide accompanies our 2025 Escalade IQ Sport 2 video. It uses Canadian 2025 model material and separates the manufacturer’s range estimates from measured results. The video description establishes the model and trim, but not every installed option or the exact purchase price.

Models available

The 2025 lineup has four trims: Luxury 1, Sport 1, Luxury 2 and Sport 2. Luxury and Sport provide different exterior treatments, while the 1-to-2 change adds equipment. All use dual-motor AWD. The later Premium Luxury and Premium Sport names should not be substituted for these 2025 trim names.

Luxury 1 and Sport 1 already include air suspension, Magnetic Ride Control, four-wheel steering, 24-inch wheels and the large front display. Moving to a 2 trim adds more cabin and convenience equipment; it is not required just to get the basic electric drivetrain or suspension technology. Cadillac Canada’s 2025 model page, archived February 25, 2025.

Electric drivetrain and performance

Cadillac’s Canadian 2025 configurator lists an estimated 615 hp and 680 lb-ft in the normal dual-motor specification, rising to as much as 750 hp and 785 lb-ft with Velocity Max. The larger numbers therefore describe a selectable performance mode rather than a separate Sport 2 engine. They are manufacturer estimates, not output or acceleration measured in this review.

Four-wheel steering helps this large vehicle manoeuvre, and Cadillac Arrival Mode provides a low-speed diagonal-movement function. Air Ride Adaptive Suspension adjusts ride height, while Magnetic Ride Control varies damping. These are distinct systems: rear-wheel steering addresses manoeuvrability, air springs control height and support, and the dampers manage suspension movement.

Towing and load limits

Cadillac lists a maximum trailer rating of 8,000 lb for the 2025 Escalade IQ when properly equipped. The Canadian configurator describes heavy-duty trailering equipment including the hitch platform, wiring and a 7-way connector. The vehicle’s Trailering Information Label provides the individual limits, including tongue-weight information. Canadian 2025 configuration and equipment record.

The maximum must be checked against the actual vehicle, passengers, cargo, accessories and loaded trailer. The video description does not establish the complete trailering specification, so 8,000 lb is not presented as a verified limit for the particular vehicle shown. Towing also changes energy consumption and charging-stop requirements; the unladen driving-range estimate is not a towing-range promise.

Range and charging

Cadillac Canada’s February 2025 model information lists up to 740 km of Cadillac-estimated range on a full charge. This is a manufacturer estimate, not an NRCan rating or a result recorded in the video. Earlier launch material used a 724-km estimate, so it is important to date the source rather than mix preliminary and later figures.

Sport 2 includes a 19.2-kW-capable onboard AC charging module. Luxury 1 and Sport 1 have 11.5-kW AC capability as standard and offer the higher-capacity module as an option. That distinction concerns Level 2 AC charging; it is not the same as the power rating of a public DC fast charger.

To make use of the higher AC capability, the charging station and household electrical installation must support it. A qualified installer should assess the available electrical capacity and equipment location. Buying the higher-capacity vehicle charger does not, by itself, upgrade the house or supply a compatible wall unit.

The IQ also supports high-power DC fast charging. Charging speed changes with battery temperature, state of charge and station output, so a short advertised charging interval should not be extrapolated into a constant-rate full recharge. Compare the chargers on your normal routes, with arrival reserve and winter use in mind, rather than choosing solely by the headline full-battery range.

Interior, seating and cargo

The three-row layout seats seven. Heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row bucket seats, a heated steering wheel and a power-folding third row are part of the Canadian model equipment list. Sport 2 adds 16-way front-seat adjustment, power bolsters and massage functions.

The fixed panoramic glass roof is different from an opening sunroof. Cadillac lists a removable panoramic roof sunshade among dealer-installed accessories on the archived 2025 page. Check which accessories are included when comparing individual vehicles rather than assuming everything shown in promotional material is standard.

A 345-litre eTrunk provides enclosed storage ahead of the cabin. Its volume is separate from the rear luggage area. That distinction matters when comparing headline cargo totals that combine the front compartment with space behind the first row: those totals require rear seats to be folded and do not describe luggage room with seven people aboard.

The Executive Second-Row Seating Package remains optional on Sport 2. Cadillac describes features including tray tables, personal screens, a rear command centre, charging connections and massaging seats. It also increases the audio system to 40 speakers. The standard 36-speaker Sport 2 system and optional 40-speaker configuration should not be described interchangeably.

Infotainment and connectivity

The curved front display has a total diagonal measurement of 55 inches across its arrangement; it is not a conventional 55-inch rectangular centre touchscreen. Google built-in provides mapping, voice-assistant and app functionality, with connected-service requirements applying to relevant features. Test your usual phone, navigation and entertainment workflow before purchase.

Sport 2’s standard audio system is the 36-speaker AKG Studio Reference arrangement listed for the 2025 model. Rear entertainment screens and two-tone paint are separately available options. Later model-year audio counts should not be carried into this article simply because the vehicle still uses the Escalade IQ name.

Safety features and Super Cruise

Standard equipment listed by Cadillac includes Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Zone Steering Assist, HD Surround Vision and a head-up display. Its Canadian introduction also identifies Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking and Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist. Sport 2 adds Night Vision thermal imaging in the archived Canadian equipment list.

Super Cruise capability is included, with Cadillac’s 2025 introduction specifying three years of the applicable plan. It provides hands-free assistance only on compatible roads and in supported conditions. The driver must remain attentive and ready to take over. Confirm the remaining trial or subscription on a previously registered vehicle; the original entitlement is not necessarily renewed by a change of owner.

Competition and which Escalade IQ makes sense

Sport 1 deserves consideration if you mainly want the electric drivetrain, range, display and suspension. Sport 2 becomes more compelling when the front-seat upgrades, audio, doors and higher AC charging capability are genuinely useful. Confirm that your charging setup can take advantage of the latter before valuing it as a daily benefit.

The Rivian R1S and Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV are relevant electric three-row alternatives. A gasoline Escalade answers a different refuelling and towing-use question. Our 2026 Escalade Sport guide and 2026 Escalade Sport Platinum guide cover those separate gasoline models, not substitute specifications for the 2025 IQ.
