The 2027 Kia Seltos X-Line combines a turbocharged engine with a surprisingly extensive comfort package. This second-generation Seltos has a new body, more cabin space and a reorganized trim lineup. The X-Line adds its own styling and a stronger engine, while retaining the useful convenience features introduced on the EX Premium below it.

This article focuses on the Canadian X-Line AWD, with CAD pricing and equipment checked against Kia’s specifications and brochure. The X-Line Limited costs more, so this guide separates its extra technology. The Automotive Car Reviews video below provides a closer look at the vehicle.

The gasoline range includes LX FWD, LX AWD, EX AWD, EX Premium AWD, X-Line AWD and X-Line Limited AWD. The first four use a 2.0-litre engine producing 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft, paired with an Intelligent Variable Transmission. Both X-Line versions switch to a turbocharged 1.6-litre engine and an eight-speed automatic. Kia also announced a separate hybrid; this X-Line uses gasoline power.

2027 Kia Seltos X-Line engine specs

Engine bay of the 2027 Kia Seltos X-Line

The X-Line’s 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder produces 190 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 195 lb-ft at 4,500 rpm. An eight-speed automatic and AWD come standard. Kia recommends regular unleaded gasoline, and the fuel tank holds 50 litres. These numbers come from Kia’s 2027 specification page.

The engine and transmission make the X-Line a distinct choice within the range. The EX Premium shares many comfort features, but retains the less powerful 2.0-litre engine and IVT. Therefore, comparing those two trims helps separate the value of the turbo powertrain from the value of added interior equipment.

Fuel economy and towing

Kia publishes estimated consumption of 9.9 L/100 km city, 7.8 highway and 9.0 combined for the X-Line. In comparison, Kia lists the 2.0-litre AWD versions at 9.1/7.8/8.5 L/100 km. These figures provide a consistent comparison within Kia’s published range; weather, traffic and trip length affect actual fuel use.

Kia does not recommend using the Seltos for trailer towing. The X-Line styling and AWD do not change that guidance. Shoppers who need a trailer should compare SUVs with a published towing rating. For passenger and cargo weight, use the actual vehicle’s load label rather than inferring payload from cargo volume.

Interior, seating and cargo

The X-Line seats five and includes Sofino synthetic upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel. The power driver’s seat has lumbar adjustment and memory, along with a relaxation function. Dual-zone automatic climate control, rear ventilation outlets and a panoramic sunroof are also included.

The reclining rear seat folds in a 60/40 split. Kia lists 786 litres behind the second row and 1,817 litres with it folded. A smart power liftgate and cargo cover are standard. At 4,430 mm long with a 2,690 mm wheelbase, the Seltos remains a small two-row SUV. Check child-seat installation and the shape of your usual luggage as well as the published measurements.

Outside, the X-Line has 19-inch wheels, LED projection headlights, LED fog lights and distinctive dark trim. These styling differences help distinguish the X-Line. However, they do not increase towing capacity or add equipment from another trim.

Infotainment and displays

The X-Line includes navigation, a 12.3-inch driver display and a separate five-inch climate-control screen alongside the central multimedia display. Kia describes the cockpit as dual 12.3-inch displays plus the climate screen in its trim guide. The X-Line also has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Wireless charging, six-speaker audio and rear USB-C ports round out the setup.

Kia Connect supports connected services and over-the-air updates. Phone compatibility and service terms still matter, so check the functions included with the vehicle and any subscription required later. The standard X-Line uses six speakers; Harman Kardon premium audio is an X-Line Limited upgrade.

Safety features on the X-Line

Standard assistance includes forward collision-avoidance with junction-turning capability, lane-keeping and lane-following assistance, blind-spot collision-avoidance and rear cross-traffic avoidance. It also includes Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go and Highway Driving Assist. Eight airbags, a rear camera with dynamic guidelines and front/rear parking-distance warnings complete the key safety equipment.

The 2027 brochure separates X-Line from X-Line Limited clearly. Limited adds Highway Driving Assist 2, expanded collision-avoidance functions, surround-view and blind-spot-view monitors, rear parking collision-avoidance and parking warnings with side coverage. Its head-up display and Digital Key 2.0 are also upgrades. These features are not standard on the X-Line covered here.

Assistance features support the driver and have operating limitations. In particular, a blind-spot warning or intervention system differs from a camera that shows a blind-spot view. Keeping the names distinct helps buyers compare the actual functions they are paying for.

2027 Kia Seltos X-Line pricing

Kia’s June 2026 launch announcement lists these MSRPs in CAD: LX FWD $28,495; LX AWD $30,495; EX AWD $33,495; EX Premium AWD $36,795; X-Line AWD $39,295; and X-Line Limited AWD $41,295. On that MSRP basis, the X-Line is $2,500 above EX Premium and $2,000 below Limited.

The same launch pricing announcement lists an X-Line all-in price of $42,658 before sales tax, licensing and insurance. That figure includes $2,100 freight, a $100 air-conditioning charge, up to $699 dealer fees and up to $314 other applicable fees. However, these dated launch figures provide a starting point; regional fees, paint, incentives and a current dealer quote can change the total.

Competition

The Honda HR-V EX-L, Toyota Corolla Cross and Hyundai Kona are useful comparisons. Honda’s 2027 HR-V specifications list a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre engine with 158 horsepower. The Seltos X-Line offers more published power, while the equipment comparison should also consider the seats, camera systems and infotainment supplied at each price.

The Toyota Corolla Cross lineup includes an AWD hybrid alternative. Meanwhile, Hyundai’s Kona equipment guide makes it possible to compare comfort packages directly. As a result, use matched trims and fee-inclusive quotes to keep the price comparison meaningful.

Choosing the right Seltos

The 2027 Kia Seltos X-Line makes sense for buyers seeking the turbo engine, AWD and substantial comfort equipment without moving to the Limited. EX Premium deserves a close look if the cabin features matter more than the engine. Conversely, Limited is the appropriate comparison if a head-up display, premium audio or surround-view cameras are priorities.

The trim distinction is the key to evaluating this Seltos: the X-Line is already well equipped, but it does not include every feature advertised across the model range. Browse more SUV reviews for other vehicles to consider alongside it.
