2026 Chevrolet Suburban High Country: Specs, Features & Pricing

The 2026 Chevrolet Suburban High Country combines the Suburban’s long body and substantial cargo space with Chevrolet’s highest luxury trim. A standard 6.2-litre V8, Magnetic Ride Control, leather seating and a 17.7-inch touchscreen define its main equipment. However, several desirable features still require options, including air suspension and Super Cruise.

This guide covers seating configurations, engines, towing, fuel economy, interior technology, safety and CAD pricing. The matching Automotive Car Reviews video is included below.

Models available and High Country positioning

The Suburban lineup includes LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier and High Country. Equipment and engine availability vary between these trims. High Country is the luxury-focused choice, while Z71 emphasizes off-road-oriented equipment and RST has a different appearance theme.

The selected 2026 Chevrolet Suburban High Country has four-wheel drive. It is the longer-bodied alternative to the Tahoe, with more cargo-room potential. Although the overall Suburban range advertises seating for up to nine in an eligible configuration, that number does not describe High Country’s front-bucket-seat layout.

Seven seats standard, eight with the optional bench

High Country’s standard layout seats seven: two in the front, two in second-row bucket seats and three in the third row. Chevrolet also offers a power second-row bench seat. Selecting that three-person bench brings capacity to eight, while retaining the front buckets.

Therefore, check the seating option on the specific build sheet before comparing vehicles. A seven-seat example does not mean the trim cannot offer eight seats. Likewise, the lineup’s nine-seat maximum requires a different front-seat arrangement and should not appear as High Country’s capacity.

2026 Chevrolet Suburban High Country engine specifications

Engine bay of the 2026 Chevrolet Suburban High Country

The standard 6.2-litre V8 produces 420 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 460 lb-ft of torque at 4,100 rpm. Chevrolet pairs it with a 10-speed automatic transmission and Dynamic Fuel Management. The selected build uses a 3.23 rear axle ratio. Premium gasoline is the fuel specification for its published consumption figures.

The available 3.0-litre Duramax turbo-diesel produces 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic. It provides another engine choice for High Country buyers, with a lower published combined fuel-consumption rating. Confirm the exact diesel configuration and its towing information rather than carrying across the gas build’s figures.

The 5.3-litre V8 appears elsewhere in the Suburban range. However, it is not an engine choice shown for this High Country selection. The engine name, transmission and trim should all match when comparing specifications.

Suspension and four-wheel-drive equipment

Magnetic Ride Control is standard. It adjusts the dampers electronically; it should not be confused with the optional Adaptive Air Ride suspension. The selected standard build also has a single-speed Autotrac transfer case and a mechanical limited-slip rear differential.

A two-speed transfer case is part of the optional Max Trailering equipment arrangement. Meanwhile, the High Country Deluxe package includes Adaptive Air Ride suspension. Buyers who need low range or adjustable air suspension should verify the relevant package rather than assuming the High Country badge includes both.

Towing equipment and loading limits

Chevrolet’s selected 6.2-litre High Country build lists maximum trailering of 7,300 lb. Treat that as a reference for the selected configuration. Engine, packages, vehicle equipment and loaded weight can change the applicable limit. A higher Suburban-wide maximum is not a promise for every High Country.

Standard trailering equipment includes a two-inch receiver, wiring harness, seven-pin connector, Trailer Sway Control and Hitch Guidance. The optional Max Trailering arrangement adds equipment such as an integrated trailer brake controller and a two-speed transfer case. Advanced trailering options provide further hitch and trailer-camera tools.

Payload must cover occupants, cargo, accessories and trailer tongue weight together. Consequently, filling all seven or eight seats can reduce the remaining loading allowance. Use the actual vehicle’s loading label and owner’s manual to evaluate the proposed combination, rather than relying only on a general builder payload number.

Fuel economy

Natural Resources Canada rates the 2026 Suburban 4WD with the 6.2-litre V8 at 16.6 L/100 km city, 13.0 highway and 15.0 combined, using premium gasoline. The 3.0-litre diesel Suburban 4WD is rated at 11.5 city, 9.7 highway and 10.7 combined.

These are published powertrain ratings, rather than a measured result from this video’s vehicle. In addition, towing, load, temperature, speed and conditions affect actual use. Compare both fuel type and consumption when considering the gas and diesel choices.

Interior comfort and cargo space

Front seats of the 2026 Chevrolet Suburban High Country

High Country includes perforated leather seating, heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row outboard seats and a heated steering wheel. Both front seats have eight-way power adjustment with four-way power lumbar support. Driver memory also supports the power tilt-and-telescoping steering column.

The standard second-row buckets have power release, while the third-row bench folds electrically. Meanwhile, the power-sliding centre console can move rearward to change the storage arrangement between the front seats. Tri-zone automatic climate control, rear air conditioning and remote start also come standard.

Chevrolet lists maximum Suburban cargo volume of approximately 4,092 litres with the rear seating folded. That is a maximum load-space figure, not the room available behind an occupied third row. The longer body provides more cargo-room potential than the Tahoe; check the required luggage space with the seats in their intended position.

A power programmable liftgate and fixed assist steps are standard. AutoSense liftgate operation, power-retractable steps and the panoramic sunroof are optional equipment. Thus, photographs of a highly equipped example may show features beyond the base High Country configuration.

Infotainment, audio and displays

The 2026 Chevrolet Suburban High Country includes a 17.7-inch touchscreen with Google built-in compatibility. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support compatible phones. An 11-inch driver information display and a 15-inch head-up display also come standard.

Bose CenterPoint surround audio uses 10 speakers. In addition, wireless phone charging, USB connections and two 120-volt outlets serve cabin and cargo needs. Connected services, navigation functions and Wi-Fi depend on their connection, account and subscription terms.

The Rear Camera Mirror offers a camera view as an alternative to the conventional mirror view. HD Surround Vision provides additional exterior perspectives. The listed Interior Camera requires a future software update, so its presence should not be described as proof that every intended function is already active.

A Rear Seat Media System is optional. Check the Technology and Entertainment Package and current equipment list if rear entertainment is important. Likewise, a temporary service trial is not a permanent free subscription.

Safety features and optional Super Cruise

Standard systems include Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking and Reverse Automatic Braking. Forward Collision Alert, enhanced Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning and IntelliBeam automatic high beams also appear in the standard list.

Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Zone Steering Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Rear Pedestrian Alert and Side Bicyclist Alert add further assistance. Meanwhile, Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist, HD Surround Vision and the Safety Alert Seat support parking and warning functions. The front-bucket-seat configuration has seven airbags.

Super Cruise is optional and requires the appropriate package. It is a separate system from standard Adaptive Cruise Control. Its operation depends on compatible roads, active services and other conditions, and the driver must remain attentive and ready to take control.

Rear Seat Reminder, child security locks and Teen Driver are also included. Driver-assistance features have operating limits; check the owner’s manual for the exact vehicle. Rear Seat Reminder does not detect a person or object left inside.

CAD pricing and packages

Chevrolet’s Ontario builder lists a Standard Vehicle Price of $110,499 for the selected V8 High Country. Freight of $2,700, the $100 air-conditioning charge, $699 dealer fees, $22 OMVIC and $22.50 tire handling bring the displayed MSRP total to $114,042.50. The builder then adds an estimated $2,809 luxury tax, producing $116,851.50 before sales tax.

The engine selector lists the diesel configuration from approximately $114,458 with its displayed fees and luxury-tax treatment. Tax amounts and incentives depend on the chosen build and transaction, so request an updated itemized quote. A temporary discount should not be confused with the permanent base price.

The $2,425 Sun and Tow Package combines the panoramic sunroof with trailering equipment. The Technology and Entertainment Package lists at $2,180. Meanwhile, High Country Deluxe lists at $8,690 and includes power-retractable steps, the panoramic sunroof and Adaptive Air Ride suspension.

Other choices include appearance packages with 24-inch wheels, cargo protection and accessories. Package dependencies can change the total and available combinations. Compare builds with the same engine, seating layout, equipment and fee basis.

Competition and alternatives

The GMC Yukon XL Denali is a closely related alternative with its own interior and equipment presentation. The Ford Expedition Max and Lincoln Navigator L provide other long-body, three-row choices. Meanwhile, Cadillac’s Escalade ESV offers another luxury-focused option at a different price position.

Within Chevrolet, the shorter Tahoe High Country may suit buyers who do not need the Suburban’s extra cargo-room potential. The Suburban Premier is another trim to compare if its equipment covers the required features. The choice should account for seating, cargo space, towing configuration and the cost of optional technology.
