The 2026 Cadillac Escalade Sport Platinum combines a naturally aspirated V8 with a highly equipped three-row cabin. Cadillac’s Canadian configurator calls this trim Platinum Sport. It pairs the darker Sport presentation with semi-aniline leather, massaging front seats, a 38-speaker AKG system and extensive standard technology.
This guide covers the standard-length Escalade Platinum Sport 4WD, matching the Sport Platinum model in the accompanying video. It examines engine specifications, towing, fuel consumption, seating, infotainment, safety and CAD pricing. Escalade ESV is the longer body style; its extra space and pricing deserve a separate comparison.
Models available
The Canadian 2026 configurator lists Escalade, Luxury, Sport, Platinum Luxury, Platinum Sport and V-Series. The regular trims use a 6.2-litre V8 with a ten-speed automatic. V-Series has a separate supercharged V8 and AWD specification. It is not the engine fitted to Platinum Sport.
Platinum Sport and Platinum Luxury offer a similarly extensive premium equipment level with different exterior presentations. Buyers who primarily want the display and three-row layout can also compare lower trims. Those versions do not automatically include all of the Platinum equipment described here.
The gasoline Escalade and Escalade ESV are distinct from the electric Escalade IQ family. The 2026 Canadian gasoline configurator does not offer a diesel engine for the Platinum Sport. Check the model year carefully when comparing older Escalade specifications.
Engine and drivetrain specifications
The standard 6.2-litre V8 produces 420 hp at 5,600 rpm and 460 lb-ft at 4,100 rpm. Cadillac quotes its horsepower with premium gasoline. Direct injection, variable valve timing and Dynamic Fuel Management form part of the engine specification.
A ten-speed automatic transmission sends power through a four-wheel-drive system with a two-speed Autotrac transfer case. An electronic limited-slip rear differential is included. The transfer case offers automatic operation along with high- and low-range selections.
Magnetic Ride Control and Adaptive Air Ride suspension are standard on Platinum Sport. The included Touring Package also brings soft-close doors and power open-and-close doors. These features help distinguish this trim from a lower-specification Escalade. They should not be assumed across the whole lineup.
Towing and payload

Cadillac’s configurator lists 7,900 lb of maximum trailering for the selected Platinum Sport 4WD example. This figure belongs to that configuration. Do not substitute an advertised Escalade range maximum or a figure from a different body style.
Standard equipment includes heavy-duty trailering hardware, a seven-pin connection, an integrated trailer brake controller, Hitch Guidance, Hitch View and the in-vehicle Trailering App. A Smart Trailer Integration Indicator and trailering assist guidelines add useful functions. Some trailer camera views need an accessory camera and installation.
Confirm the individual vehicle’s tow rating before choosing a trailer. Use the loading label to account for passengers, luggage, accessories and trailer tongue weight. Payload and trailer limits depend on the completed vehicle, so a generic online maximum cannot replace its label and owner information.
Fuel economy
Natural Resources Canada rates the 2026 Escalade 4WD with its 6.2-litre V8 at 16.6 L/100 km city, 13.0 highway and 15.0 combined. Premium gasoline is listed for the rating. These are the general Escalade 4WD figures, rather than a separate Platinum Sport-only entry.
The Escalade-V has a different engine and a separate fuel-consumption rating. That figure should not be used for this trim. Towing, cold weather, idling, cargo and short trips can increase fuel use beyond the laboratory results. Compare the stated litres per 100 kilometres with the cost of premium gasoline when estimating running costs.
Interior and seating

The selected Platinum Sport seats seven with two front bucket seats, two second-row captain’s chairs and a three-person third-row bench. The Canadian trim configurator lists conventional second-row buckets or optional executive second-row seats for this specification. Confirm the final layout rather than treating every Escalade as an eight-seat model.
Full semi-aniline leather is available in several colour treatments. The selected Jet Black interior uses Mondrian quilting. Sixteen-way power front seats include adjustable bolsters and massage, together with heating and ventilation. Heated second-row outboard seats, a heated steering wheel, driver memory and a power tilt-and-telescoping steering column are standard.
Tri-zone automatic climate control provides separate temperature settings for the driver, front passenger and rear passengers. The second-row seats power-release for access, and the third row power-folds in a 60/40 split. Folding rear seats creates additional cargo room. The ESV’s longer body gives it a different luggage-space proposition, especially when every seat is occupied. Compare that space directly if regular seven-person trips are part of the plan.
A panoramic sunroof, illuminated sill plates, power-retractable assist steps with perimeter lighting and an AutoSense liftgate are standard. The liftgate offers programmable opening height. The selected trim also includes power-operated doors, soft-close functionality, remote start and wireless phone charging.

Executive second-row package
The optional Executive Second Row Seating Package adds fully powered, 14-way-adjustable rear seats with massage, ventilation and expanded heating. A rear floor console includes stowable tray tables, while an eight-inch Rear Command Centre and wireless charging add passenger controls and convenience.
This package also changes the AKG system from 38 to 42 speakers. Those rear-seat features and the 42-speaker count are optional, even on Platinum Sport. The standard heated captain’s chairs are a different specification. A front console refrigerator with freezer mode is another separate option.
Infotainment and audio

The standard infotainment experience uses a 55-inch diagonal curved front display arrangement across the dashboard. It supports navigation, connected apps, personalized profiles and natural voice recognition. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support compatible phones.
Platinum Sport includes an AKG Studio Reference 38-speaker system with Dolby Atmos. Speakers in the headliner and head restraints contribute to its surround configuration. A front-passenger volume control allows independent adjustment for that seat. The optional executive package increases the total to 42 speakers.
The standard rear entertainment system includes two independent 12.6-inch touchscreens, HDMI inputs, charging connections and headphones. Wi-Fi capability and connected apps depend on network coverage and service terms. A head-up display and Rear Camera Mirror are also included; confirm the status of the interior camera, which the configurator lists with a future software-update requirement.

Safety and driver assistance
Standard assistance includes Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Reverse Automatic Braking and Rear Cross Traffic Braking. HD Surround Vision provides selectable views around the vehicle.
Blind Zone Steering Assist with Trailering extends its monitored area to trailer lengths. Rear Pedestrian Alert, Side Bicyclist Alert, Traffic Sign Recognition, Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist and a vibrating Safety Alert Seat add further assistance. Eight airbags, stability control with rollover mitigation, child security locks and Teen Driver form part of the specification.
Super Cruise is standard on Platinum Sport. It provides hands-free assistance on compatible roads, with driver monitoring and up to three years of the relevant OnStar plan. Adaptive Cruise Control and Driver Attention Assist are also listed. The driver must remain attentive, and an active trial or subscription is necessary.
Night Vision appears in the optional equipment list rather than the standard safety specification. Its infrared assistance is separate from the regular cameras. Equipment availability and individual vehicle labels matter when comparing dealer inventory.
Exterior equipment
The selected Platinum Sport has 22-inch, 18-spoke alloy wheels with an After Midnight finish and all-season tires. Gloss Black trim, roof rails, vertical LED rear lamps, adaptive forward lighting, automatic headlamp levelling and heated power-folding mirrors accompany its Sport presentation.
The optional Onyx Package adds 24-inch Black alloy wheels, a Black illuminated Cadillac emblem and a Gloss Black Escalade nameplate. It changes the wheel and appearance specification; the larger wheels are not the baseline equipment for the selected truck. Colour upgrades and accessories can add further cost.
Pricing in CAD
Cadillac listed a standard vehicle price of $158,899 for the selected Platinum Sport 4WD. Freight of $2,900, air-conditioning tax of $100 and displayed Ontario dealer and regulatory fees brought the vehicle price to $162,642.50 before sales tax and luxury tax.
The configurator then added an estimated $12,529 luxury tax, giving a displayed net price of $175,171.50 before sales tax. This distinction matters when comparing a base vehicle price with an advertised amount that already includes luxury tax.
Listed options included the Executive Second Row Seating Package at $9,375, Onyx Package at $7,405, Cargo Convenience Package at $1,400 and the front console refrigerator at $875. Options, dependencies and luxury-tax calculations can change the total. Request a written quote for the same engine, seating and equipment configuration.
Competition
Lincoln Navigator, Mercedes-Benz GLS and BMW X7 provide other premium three-row choices. GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate is a closely related alternative with its own seating, display and equipment structure. Compare actual rear-seat features, cargo space, towing labels, fuel requirements and final CAD quotes.
Within Cadillac’s range, Platinum Luxury offers a different exterior treatment at a comparable premium level, while ESV adds length and cargo flexibility. Lower Escalade trims may meet the need for a three-row cabin without every Platinum feature. Browse our other SUV reviews for more choices.
