2026 Yukon Models and Trims

The Yukon lineup includes Elevation, AT4, Denali, AT4 Ultimate and Denali Ultimate. Elevation provides the core full-size SUV equipment. AT4 adds off-road-oriented styling and hardware, while Denali emphasizes premium cabin features. The two Ultimate trims add more extensive equipment to those respective themes.

Denali Ultimate is distinct from regular Denali: features listed as available across the Denali family can be standard on Ultimate. Canadian builder configurations use four-wheel drive. The longer Yukon XL provides additional space, but the executive second-row seating option described below is limited to the regular Yukon.

Engines, Transmission and Four-Wheel Drive

The standard 6.2-litre V8 produces 420 hp and 460 lb-ft, paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission. The Canadian builder also offers the 3.0-litre Duramax turbo-diesel inline-six with 305 hp and 495 lb-ft. Both engines have substantial torque, but their fuel requirements and consumption differ.

Denali Ultimate includes an Autotrac two-speed transfer case and the Active Response 4WD system, incorporating an electronic limited-slip rear differential. Magnetic Ride Control and four-corner Air Ride Adaptive Suspension are included. The air suspension provides adjustable height and automatic load levelling; these are equipment functions, not a substitute for observing the vehicle’s weight limits.

Towing and Trailer Equipment

GMC’s Canadian builder listed an 8,000-lb maximum trailering figure, approximately 3,629 kg, for the selected regular Yukon Denali Ultimate 4WD with the 6.2-litre V8 and 3.23 rear axle. Treat that as the manufacturer’s configuration reference. The door-label payload rating, trailer tongue weight, occupants and cargo determine what a particular vehicle can carry and tow.

The Ultimate’s standard equipment list includes the Max Trailering Package, a receiver hitch and seven-pin wiring, an integrated trailer brake controller, Hitch View and Blind Zone Steering Assist with Trailering. The package also includes additional cooling equipment with the gasoline engine. Yukon XL and diesel configurations need their own ratings; a headline maximum for another Yukon does not establish this vehicle’s limit.

Fuel Economy

The 2026 Natural Resources Canada fuel-consumption guide lists the Yukon 4WD with the 6.2-litre V8 at 16.6 L/100 km city, 13.0 highway and 15.0 combined, using premium gasoline. The 3.0-litre diesel 4WD entry is 11.5 city, 9.7 highway and 10.7 combined.

Those are official comparison ratings for the engine and drivetrain entries, rather than fuel consumption measured in this video. Cold weather, towing, load, speed and wheel specifications can change actual use. Compare annual fuel cost using your own distance and local gasoline or diesel prices before choosing an engine.

Interior, Seating and Cargo Space

Third-row bench seating of the 2026 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate

The regular Yukon Denali Ultimate seats seven, with two front bucket seats, two second-row bucket seats and a three-place third row. GMC’s trim-specific specification graphic lists 722 litres behind the third row, 2,053 litres behind the second row and 3,477 litres behind the front row. The second-row seats have power release, and the third row has a power-operated 60/40 split-folding function.

Woodland Mahogany full-grain leather upholstery distinguishes the Ultimate cabin. The 16-way power front seats include massage, heating and ventilation. Heated second-row outboard seats, a heated steering wheel, driver memory, a power-adjustable steering column and tri-zone automatic climate control are included.

An eight-inch rear touchscreen controls rear climate functions. The power-sliding centre console can move rearward to open storage space between the front seats. A panoramic power sunroof, wireless phone charging and two 120-volt outlets add convenience.

The optional Executive Second Row Seating Package adds heated and ventilated rear captain’s chairs with massage and Bose head-restraint speakers. It is not offered on Yukon XL. The standard second-row bucket seats should not be described as having that full executive equipment.

Infotainment, Displays and Audio

The dashboard uses a 16.8-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen with Google built-in compatibility, navigation capability, connected apps and configurable profiles. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported. An 11-inch driver information display and 15-inch head-up display provide separate vehicle information.

The standard 18-speaker Bose Performance Series system includes speakers in the front head restraints. The optional executive rear seating brings the available higher speaker count; 22 speakers should not be claimed for every Ultimate.

The Canadian standard-equipment list includes a rear-seat media system with dual 12.6-inch screens and HDMI connections. GMC notes that production beginning in August 2026 removes the included Bluetooth headphone sets, so check the actual window label for those accessories. Wi-Fi, Google services, OnStar and satellite-radio features have their own connectivity and subscription requirements.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Standard Yukon assistance equipment includes enhanced automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, front pedestrian and bicyclist braking, intersection automatic emergency braking, blind-zone steering assist, lane keep assist with lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control.

Parking and reversing equipment includes HD Surround Vision, enhanced automatic parking assist, rear cross-traffic braking, reverse automatic braking and rear pedestrian alert. IntelliBeam automatic high beams, side bicyclist alert, traffic sign recognition, Safety Alert Seat, Buckle to Drive and Teen Driver are also listed among standard features.

Super Cruise is standard on Denali Ultimate with an included three-year OnStar One plan under GMC’s terms. It provides hands-free assistance on compatible roads and requires continued driver attention, working connectivity and an active trial or plan. It is not autonomous driving. A rear camera mirror is included in the Ultimate equipment list, while Night Vision is optional.

Exterior and Wheels

Vader Chrome grille and exterior accents distinguish Denali Ultimate. Standard 24-inch selective machined wheels with After Midnight Metallic paint replace the lower trims’ wheel specifications. Power-retractable assist steps include perimeter lighting, and the AutoSense power liftgate can open when the key holder approaches.

The large wheel and tire size is relevant when budgeting winter wheels or replacement tires. Check approved sizes and load ratings for the particular vehicle. Exterior colour and accessory choices can also raise the configured price.

2026 Yukon Denali Ultimate Pricing

Canadian pricing example: the Ontario builder’s regular Yukon Denali Ultimate 4WD V8 example listed a $134,099 standard vehicle price. Adding $2,700 destination freight, $100 air-conditioning charge, $699 dealer fees, $22 OMVIC and $22.50 tire handling produced a $137,642.50 total before the builder’s estimated luxury tax.

The builder then added approximately $7,529 in estimated luxury tax, displaying a $145,171.50 CAD net price before provincial sales tax. Its consumer overview displayed a very slightly different rounded starting reference of $145,176. These are dated examples with specified fee assumptions, not a fixed nationwide drive-away quotation.

Diesel, Yukon XL, executive rear seating, Night Vision, paint and accessories can change the total. Compare written quotations that show options, fees and applicable taxes separately, and check which incentives apply to the chosen purchase method.

Competition and Buying Considerations

Compare the Yukon Denali Ultimate with the Chevrolet Tahoe High Country, Ford Expedition Platinum, Jeep Grand Wagoneer and Cadillac Escalade. Match the Canadian seating layout, body length, towing equipment and assistance features, because their luxury packages and cargo arrangements differ.

The Ultimate is most relevant when seven-seat space, trailer equipment and extensive cabin features all matter. Regular Denali merits a price comparison if massage, air suspension and the expanded audio system are lower priorities. Yukon XL deserves consideration when luggage space with every seat occupied is the main requirement, while the regular Yukon is the choice for the optional executive second row.
