The 2026 Ford F-150 Platinum combines full-size pickup capability with leather seating, a premium sound system and extensive towing technology. The Platinum has a more specific configuration than the wider F-150 range: five seats, a SuperCrew cab, four-wheel drive and a choice between a gasoline V6 and a hybrid V6.

This article covers Canadian-market specifications and CAD pricing. The walkaround below shows the vehicle; equipment described here comes from manufacturer specifications.

Models and Configuration

The 2026 F-150 lineup includes XL, STX, XLT, Tremor, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum and Raptor. Platinum is offered with a SuperCrew cab and either a 5.5-foot or 6.5-foot cargo box. The standard Canadian equipment group is 702A; the optional 703A Platinum Plus group adds cost and equipment.

Engine Specifications

The standard Platinum engine is a 3.5-litre twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 with 382 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. Ford quotes these gasoline-engine outputs using premium fuel. A ten-speed automatic and four-wheel drive are standard. The optional 3.5-litre PowerBoost full hybrid produces 420 horsepower and 570 lb-ft in Ford’s model-year-specific 2026 towing guide. It also uses a ten-speed automatic. The Canadian builder lists the hybrid upgrade at C$3,000.

Towing and Payload

Open pickup bed of the 2026 Ford F-150 Platinum

Ford’s 2026 guide lists a maximum conventional towing capacity of 13,500 lb for selected 3.5-litre EcoBoost configurations, while PowerBoost tops out at 11,600 lb. These are properly equipped configuration limits, not a rating for every Platinum. Cab, box, axle, towing options and vehicle weight matter. Tow/Haul equipment is standard on Platinum; the maximum-tow axle upgrade remains configuration dependent.

Use the truck’s VIN-specific towing information and payload label before choosing a trailer. Passengers, accessories, cargo and trailer tongue weight all use payload capacity. A premium cabin and additional options can reduce the load allowance compared with a lighter truck.

Fuel Economy

NRCan’s 2026 ratings for the 3.5-litre gasoline F-150 4WD are 14.0 L/100 km city, 10.2 highway and 12.3 combined. PowerBoost 4WD is rated at 11.3 city, 10.0 highway and 10.7 combined. These are vehicle-configuration ratings rather than a guarantee for every option combination; towing, load and conditions affect actual consumption.

Interior and Seating

Platinum seats five with front bucket seats and a rear bench. The standard 702A cabin includes heated and ventilated multicontour leather front seats with Active Motion massage, a heated steering wheel, memory functions, power-adjustable pedals and dual-zone automatic climate control. An interior work surface and folding shifter create a useful space when parked, while rear under-seat storage helps organize smaller items.

Power-deployable running boards and a power tailgate are standard. A twin-panel moonroof and Pro Access tailgate are available upgrades. Package choices can also change the cabin finish, so the equipment group matters when comparing two Platinum trucks.

Infotainment and Onboard Power

A 12-inch SYNC 4 touchscreen and 12-inch digital instrument display are standard. Smartphone integration, a wireless charging pad and the 14-speaker B&O Unleashed audio system are included in the Canadian Platinum equipment listing. Connected navigation is supplied with a one-year service term; satellite radio has a trial period.

The gasoline Platinum includes 2.0-kW Pro Power Onboard. Higher-output onboard power options are offered with PowerBoost, including the available 7.2-kW system. Check the chosen power package before planning tool or appliance use. Connected services and Wi-Fi require compatible service arrangements after included terms expire.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane centring, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking assistance, pre-collision assistance with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance and blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage and cross-traffic alert. Trailer backup and hitch-assistance features support positioning a compatible trailer.

The Canadian builder includes a BlueCruise service term with Platinum, with longer-term purchase options available. Hands-free operation requires an eligible road and active service, and the driver must remain attentive. Ford Canada lists a head-up display as standard Platinum equipment and rear-seat heating as an option; confirm the equipment group on the order.

Pricing in CAD

The Canadian builder displayed a C$105,640 base MSRP for the 702A Platinum SuperCrew with the 5.5-foot box. Adding C$2,795 in displayed fees produced C$108,435 before the separately calculated luxury tax. The Ontario example showed C$1,687 in luxury tax and a C$110,122 net total before sales tax and registration.

The 703A Platinum Plus group was listed at C$11,150, the PowerBoost upgrade at C$3,000, and available 22-inch wheels at C$1,775. These are configuration references, not an as-tested price for the video vehicle. Province, options, incentives and dealer charges can change the final quote.

Competition

The closest alternatives include the Ram 1500 Limited, GMC Sierra 1500 Denali, Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Country and Toyota Tundra Platinum. Compare equivalent cab and box layouts, included seats and audio equipment, towing packages and the final payload label. The F-150’s optional full hybrid and high-output onboard power are particularly useful points of comparison for buyers who need electrical power at a work site or campsite.

Choosing a Platinum

The 2026 Ford F-150 Platinum suits buyers who want a five-seat luxury pickup with substantial standard cabin technology. The main decisions are box length, gasoline versus hybrid power, onboard electrical output and the equipment group. Build those around the required towing and payload capacity before adding cosmetic or comfort options.
