2026 Audi Q7 Models and Engines

Engine bay of the 2026 Audi Q7 Technik

Audi’s Canadian configurator lists the entry trim as Q7, followed by Progressiv and Technik. The base Q7 offers 45 TFSI and 55 TFSI versions. The 45 uses a 261-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder; the 55 uses a 335-horsepower turbocharged V6. Progressiv and Technik are listed with the 55 TFSI engine. The SQ7 is a separate performance model, with a different powertrain and price.

The Q7 Technik’s 2,995-cc V6 produces 335 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed Tiptronic automatic and quattro all-wheel drive complete the powertrain. Audi specifies premium unleaded fuel. The Technik equipment table also lists sport adaptive air suspension as standard; optional four-wheel steering is a separate C$1,700 selection.

Towing and Fuel Economy

Audi advertises towing capacity of up to 7,700 lb when properly equipped with the optional trailer hitch. The Canadian configurator lists the hitch at C$750, and Audi describes a seven-pin connector. This maximum should be checked against the vehicle’s towing instructions, trailer brakes, tongue weight and remaining payload. Passengers, luggage and hitch load all count toward the vehicle’s carrying limit.

Natural Resources Canada rates the 2026 Q7 55 TFSI quattro at 13.0 L/100 km city, 10.0 highway and 11.7 combined, using premium gasoline. These are standardized estimates rather than measurements from the video. Winter temperatures, short trips, loads and towing can increase consumption. Audi lists an approximately 85-litre fuel tank.

Interior, Seating and Storage

The Q7 Technik seats seven people across three rows. Its layout differs from SUVs with second-row captain’s chairs: the Q7 retains a three-place middle row. Fold the rear seating when more luggage space is needed, and check access to the third row with your intended child seats installed. Seven seats and a large folded-seat cargo area describe different configurations, so luggage space should be judged with the rows you actually need in use.

Standard Canadian Technik equipment includes leather seating surfaces, heated front and rear seats, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel and four-zone climate control. A power panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable steering column, rear-door sunshades and natural brown ash wood inlays are also included. The dashboard is leather-trimmed with a leatherette console, and a power tailgate provides cargo access.

The C$4,300 Luxury package is an optional upgrade rather than a feature of every Technik. Audi describes upgraded Valcona/Cricket leather seating, front massage functions and additional comfort features for the package. Black Dinamica headlining and extended leather trim are other extra-cost selections. Compare the equipment list of the actual vehicle rather than treating the most elaborate configurator image as standard.

Infotainment and Displays

Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus provides a digital driver display, while MMI touch response uses separate upper and lower touchscreens for infotainment and cabin controls. Navigation and connected infotainment are included in the Technik list, together with a head-up display, SiriusXM capability and Audi phone box antenna and charging equipment. Connected services and satellite radio may have separate activation or subscription terms.

Bang & Olufsen Premium audio is standard. The Advanced system is a different, optional C$5,750 upgrade with 23 speakers and 1,920 watts, according to Audi. This distinction matters because a Technik badge alone does not identify the higher-output system. Test phone compatibility and charging with your own device before choosing additional connected-service subscriptions.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Canadian Technik equipment includes Audi pre sense city and pre sense rear, Audi side assist, adaptive cruise assist and active lane departure warning. Traffic sign recognition, a top-view camera system and park assist with parking system plus are also listed as standard. These combine collision-related alerts and intervention, lane support and parking assistance; their functions remain subject to the operating conditions described in the owner’s manual.

The standard list also includes advanced front airbags, rear-passenger side airbags, tire-pressure monitoring and ISOFIX mounting with top-tether anchorage for the outer rear seats. Night vision is optional at C$2,500, so it should not be assumed on every Technik. Check child-seat instructions for the exact seating position being used.

Exterior and Optional Packages

Technik includes 21-inch 10-spoke star-design wheels in contrast black, acoustic door and side-window glass, aluminum roof rails, HD Matrix-design LED headlights with Audi laser light and digital OLED rear lights. Body-colour mirror housings and bright window surrounds form part of its standard appearance.

Black Optics is a C$1,200 option, while selected 22-inch wheels add C$1,200. Those choices alter the specification and purchase price. Four-wheel steering, night vision and the trailer hitch are separate options, so an exterior appearance package should not be mistaken for a towing or safety package.

2026 Audi Q7 Technik Pricing

Audi’s Canadian configurator listed the Q7 45 from C$77,815, Q7 55 from C$82,815, Progressiv 55 from C$87,865 and Technik 55 from C$95,065. These are vehicle-price references before selected options and the itemized additional charges.

For a Technik with no extra-cost equipment selected, the displayed price as built was C$98,725: C$95,065 vehicle price, C$3,060 freight/PDI, C$500 maximum dealer administration fee and C$100 federal air-conditioning excise tax. Sales tax, registration, insurance and applicable provincial charges are additional. Temporary Audi credits were shown separately and should not be confused with a lower base price. Options can also change applicable taxes and the final total.

Competition and Buying Considerations

Comparable three-row luxury SUVs include the BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS, Volvo XC90, Acura MDX and Genesis GV80 in a suitable seating configuration. Confirm the actual seating layout for each: a model name alone does not guarantee seven seats.

For a Q7 Technik shortlist, compare the standard air suspension, ventilated seats, four-zone climate control and driver-assistance equipment against the option costs on alternatives. Then decide whether the Luxury package, Advanced audio, four-wheel steering or hitch adds something you will use. The base Technik specification is already extensive, but its final price depends heavily on those selections.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Q7 Technik have a four-cylinder engine?

No. The Canadian Technik uses the 55 TFSI turbocharged V6 with 335 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The four-cylinder 45 TFSI belongs to the entry Q7 trim.

Does the Audi Q7 have second-row captain’s chairs?

The Q7 Technik layout covered here has seven seats with a three-place middle row. It should not be described as the six-seat captain’s-chair layout offered by some competing SUVs.

Is the Q7 Technik’s trailer hitch standard?

No. The hitch is optional. Audi’s maximum towing claim of 7,700 lb requires the appropriate equipment and compliance with the vehicle’s towing, tongue-weight and payload limits.
