2027 Ram 1500 RHO: Specs, Features & Pricing

The 2027 Ram 1500 RHO pairs 35-inch all-terrain tires and Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive shocks with a 540-horsepower twin-turbo engine. That hardware is the reason to consider it before adding cabin options. A buyer who mainly needs a pickup for commuting and occasional towing should weigh the RHO’s off-road equipment against its purchase price and fuel use, rather than choosing it on horsepower alone.

This guide covers the RHO featured in our video, including its engine, suspension, seating, towing limits, technology and Canadian pricing.

Models available

Ram’s Canadian 2027 configurator lists Tradesman, Express, Black Express, Warlock, Big Horn, BackCountry, Sport, Rebel, Laramie, Limited, Longhorn, Tungsten, RHO and TRX SRT. The RHO deserves a separate comparison from the other Ram 1500 models because its engine, tires and suspension form a specific performance package.

Start with the job the truck needs to do. Compare the RHO with a Rebel if off-road equipment matters, or include other Ram 1500 configurations if trailer weight, a longer cargo box or purchase cost takes priority. A maximum capability figure advertised for the overall lineup should not be applied to every trim.

Canadian trim comparison

The table below uses the advertised starting totals on Ram Canada’s 2027 model-comparison page, checked October 28, 2026. All amounts are CAD. These are the page’s displayed starting configurations, not matched Crew Cab, box, engine and equipment builds. The difference column is simple arithmetic against the RHO’s listed starting total: negative means a lower advertised starting price, positive means higher. It is not the cost of upgrading an otherwise identical truck. The figures are not bare MSRP or prices for our video vehicle.

The RHO is a performance branch, not the next step in a straight luxury ladder. Compared with the Rebel, its main reasons for spending more are the high-output engine, larger tires and specialized adaptive suspension. Limited and Tungsten direct more of their equipment list toward road use and cabin comfort. A higher RHO price does not mean it includes every luxury feature from those trims.

Optional equipment is separate

The larger RHO touchscreen is available rather than standard on every truck. A panoramic sunroof, off-road running boards and the RHO Level 1 Equipment Group are also listed as options in Ram’s Canadian 2027 inventory information. Ask for the group’s current feature list and an itemized price on the truck you are considering; package content and charges should be checked separately from the trim’s starting price.

Engine and transmission

The RHO uses the 3.0-litre Hurricane High Output twin-turbocharged inline-six, producing 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive complete the powertrain. This is a six-cylinder RHO, so a HEMI or supercharged V8 specification from another Ram model does not apply.

Ram recommends premium gasoline. Include that fuel grade in the running-cost comparison, particularly if the truck will cover a high annual distance.

Off-road suspension and exterior

The widebody design, performance hood and 35-inch all-terrain tires give the RHO its identity. Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive shocks are central to its off-road hardware, with the Canadian specification listing remote-reservoir shocks at both ends. Standard wheels are 18-inch black-painted aluminum.

Towing and load limits

Ram Canada lists towing capacity of 3,778 kg and payload of 685 kg for the RHO configuration in its 2027 model comparison. These figures are configuration-specific, not a guarantee for every equipped truck.

Use the loading label on the actual vehicle when planning a trailer combination. Passengers, cargo, accessories and trailer tongue weight all use carrying capacity. Check the fully loaded trailer weight, hitch limits and the owner’s manual before deciding whether a particular combination is suitable. The RHO’s power output alone does not establish how much it can tow.

Fuel economy

Ram’s 2027 Canadian RHO listing shows 16.7 L/100 km in the city, 14.9 on the highway and 15.9 combined. These are the manufacturer’s published figures, not consumption measured during this review.

At 20,000 km per year, the listed combined figure works out to approximately 3,180 litres of fuel. Multiply that by the price of premium gasoline for a starting annual budget. Short winter trips, idling, towing and off-road use can increase consumption. Confirm the current EnerGuide label on the truck when comparing vehicles.

Interior, seating and cargo

The RHO seats five. Its cabin has heated front bucket seats, automatic climate control and a folding 60/40 rear seat. Folding part of the rear bench creates more flexibility for carrying items inside, although the folded seating positions are then unavailable for passengers.

Infotainment and connectivity

Uconnect 5 NAV handles infotainment and navigation, with a larger 14.5-inch touchscreen listed as available in Ram’s 2027 Canadian equipment highlights. Bluetooth connectivity is also listed.

Compare the installed screen, audio system and phone connections on the truck you are considering. If connected navigation or other subscription-based services matter, ask which functions continue after any trial expires. The display’s size is only one part of the comparison; everyday access to the functions you use should matter as well.

Safety features

Listed RHO driver-assistance equipment includes forward-collision warning with active braking, blind-spot monitoring, Active Lane Management, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, and front and rear parking sensors.

These systems assist the driver rather than take responsibility for the truck. Read their operating limits, especially when towing, travelling in poor weather or using the truck off-road. Confirm any additional camera or hands-free driving equipment on the specific vehicle instead of assuming it is included because it appears elsewhere in the Ram range.

Pricing in CAD

Ram Canada’s 2027 model-comparison page displayed an RHO starting price of $129,028 CAD on October 28, 2026. This is the manufacturer’s advertised starting total, not a bare MSRP or a verified price for the truck in our video.

Ram’s pricing disclosure includes MSRP, freight, applicable federal air-conditioning and other applicable surcharges, with current manufacturer discounts deducted. Sales tax, registration, licensing and insurance are excluded. Options, regional charges and changing offers can alter the final amount. Ask for an itemized quotation that separates the vehicle price, equipment, fees, discounts and tax before comparing monthly payments.

Competition

The Ford F-150 Raptor is a relevant starting point for a performance-oriented off-road pickup comparison. The Ram 1500 Rebel is also worth considering if you want to keep the shopping list within Ram. Compare the exact model year and configuration, including tire size, suspension, payload, towing limits and the complete equipped price.

Our 2026 Ford F-150 Raptor guide and 2026 Ram 1500 Rebel guide provide background on those earlier-model-year alternatives. Their specifications and prices should not be treated as 2027 figures.

The RHO makes the strongest case when its high-output engine and specialized off-road suspension are priorities you will actually use. For a buyer whose main requirements are carrying passengers, moving cargo and towing on paved roads, compare less specialized configurations before spending more on the RHO. Choose the truck around the work and recreation it needs to handle, then decide which cabin upgrades justify their cost.

Frequently asked questions

Does the 2027 Ram 1500 RHO have a V8?

No. It uses the 3.0-litre Hurricane High Output twin-turbo inline-six, rated at 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque.

Is the RHO a luxury upgrade over the Tungsten?

The RHO focuses on off-road performance, while Tungsten emphasizes cabin equipment such as Klipsch audio. A higher starting price does not mean the RHO includes every feature from the Tungsten.

Can I use the Ram 1500 lineup’s maximum tow rating for the RHO?

No. Use the RHO’s configuration-specific ratings, the actual truck’s loading label and the owner’s manual. Added equipment, occupants, cargo and trailer tongue weight must all be accounted for.
