Models available and Technik equipment
The Canadian Q8 range includes Progressiv and Technik. The SQ8 and RS Q8 performance are separate models with different engines and equipment. A Q8 Technik specification should therefore not be used to describe either V8 model.
Audi Canada’s 2027 configurator lists Technik with sport adaptive air suspension, HD Matrix-design LED headlights with Audi laser light, digital OLED rear lights and acoustic glazing. Its standard-equipment list also includes rear-door sunshades, a leather dashboard with leatherette console and four-zone climate control. These are useful items to compare when deciding between Progressiv and Technik.
Engine specifications
A 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 produces 335 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed tiptronic automatic sends power through quattro all-wheel drive. Premium unleaded fuel is specified, and the fuel tank holds approximately 85 litres.
The engine choice is an important distinction within the Q8 family. Moving to an SQ8 or RS Q8 performance changes the powertrain, rather than simply adding an appearance package to this V6 model.
Towing capacity
The optional towing package adds a trailer hitch rated for up to 3,500 kg, or 7,700 lb. That rating requires the appropriate equipment and operating conditions; the hitch should not be assumed to be standard on every Technik. Passengers, cargo and trailer tongue weight also affect the available load allowance.
Fuel economy
Audi Canada’s 2027 Technik configurator technical data, checked October 24, 2026, lists combined fuel consumption of 12.1 L/100 km, premium unleaded gasoline and an approximately 85-litre tank. Separate city and highway figures are not supplied in that panel. Weather, tires, traffic and towing can change actual consumption.
Interior and seating
The Q8 uses two rows of seating. The rear bench slides, reclines and folds in a 40/20/40 split, allowing a longer item to pass through the centre while retaining the outer rear positions. A panoramic sunroof, heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel and a power-adjustable steering column are included in the listed Technik equipment.
Optional seat equipment deserves a separate check. The Individual Contour Seat package adds Valcona and Cricket leather, front-seat massage, passenger-seat memory and an air-quality package with an ionizer and fragrance function. Extended leather and Black Optics equipment are also available. The presence of leather alone does not confirm that the massage-seat package is fitted.
Infotainment and technology
Technik adds a head-up display and Bang & Olufsen Premium 3D audio. The head-up display places selected information in the driver’s line of sight, while the audio upgrade is a separate reason to compare the two trim levels. Audi’s digital instrument display, navigation services and wireless phone charging are listed on the Canadian vehicle.
Check smartphone compatibility and connected-service terms when collecting the vehicle. A wireless charging pad and a phone-projection connection perform different tasks, and connected navigation services may have their own activation or subscription conditions.
Safety and parking assistance
The Canadian Technik listing includes adaptive cruise assist, active lane-departure warning, side assist, traffic-sign recognition and pre sense front and rear. A top-view 360-degree camera supports parking visibility. Audi Canada’s standard-equipment list identifies Parking assist; remote parking functions should be confirmed on the exact vehicle rather than assumed from a dealer description.
These systems support the driver, and their operation depends on visibility, sensor conditions and the particular situation. Check the owner’s manual for each function’s limits rather than treating a feature name as a guarantee that it can handle every obstacle or road condition.

In the cargo view, the rear backrests are upright and the opening tapers towards its upper corners. The side profile adds the context of the sloping rear roof. For a tall dog crate or a bulky box, the opening’s shape and usable height matter alongside the quoted volume; bring the item’s dimensions to the vehicle rather than assuming a litre figure establishes fit.
