The 2025 GMC Yukon Denali puts its emphasis on cabin equipment and a larger standard V8, without going all the way to the Ultimate trims. For buyers, the useful question is which Denali features are included and which still require packages—not simply whether the vehicle carries the Denali badge.

Models available
The standard-length Yukon family includes Elevation, AT4, Denali, AT4 Ultimate and Denali Ultimate. Compare the same body and engine configuration when shopping. Denali is not shorthand for every available feature, and a similarly named XL listing describes a different body. Canadian Yukon Denali catalog.
Engine and transmission
Denali’s Canadian standard specification is a naturally aspirated 6.2-litre V8 with a ten-speed automatic and four-wheel drive. GMC rates that engine at 420 hp and 460 lb-ft. A 3.0-litre Duramax diesel is available, rated at 305 hp and 495 lb-ft. Engine choice varies by vehicle. Standard engine and drivetrain; Canadian 2025 engine ratings.
Identify the engine on the itemized quote. A diesel configuration and a gasoline configuration are not identical vehicles, so an engine-related price adjustment should not be confused with a discount on the same build.
Suspension and exterior equipment
The Canadian Denali catalog lists Magnetic Ride Control and an AutoSense power liftgate as standard. Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, larger wheels and power-retractable steps are listed as options. A Denali with those extras should not be treated as the specification of every Denali. Denali standard and optional equipment.
For daily use, check entry height, step operation and the clearance needed for the liftgate. If you are choosing different wheels, ask for the exact tire size and replacement-cost quote rather than judging only by appearance. Inspect the actual vehicle’s suspension and tires when buying used.
Towing and payload
The available trailering equipment must be matched to your trailer, engine and loaded vehicle. The presence of a hitch does not establish the maximum tow rating or confirm every trailering aid. Ask for the original equipment list, appropriate owner documentation and the vehicle’s payload label before relying on a towing figure.
Allow for passengers and luggage at the same time as trailer tongue weight. A family holiday can use substantial payload before the trailer is attached. Use the specific vehicle’s loading and towing limits.
Fuel economy
NRCan lists the 2025 Yukon 4WD with the 6.2-litre V8 at 16.6 L/100 km city, 13.0 highway and 15.0 combined. The 3.0-litre diesel is rated at 11.5/9.7/10.7. Those are engine-specific reference rows, not a Denali-specific road-test result. NRCan 2025 ratings.
Using a hypothetical 20,000 km year, the combined ratings equate to 3,000 litres for the V8 and 2,140 litres for diesel. Apply each fuel’s local price separately and include the vehicle’s purchase and maintenance costs. Do not turn the litres saved into a dollar saving without stating the prices assumed.
Cabin and passenger layout
Denali includes a power-sliding centre console, heated and ventilated front seating, second-row bucket seats and a power-folding third row in the catalog used here. A second-row bench is optional. Check the seat arrangement you are actually buying rather than relying on photographs of a different configuration. Canadian Denali interior specification.
For a practical comparison, try the rear seats with the front seats positioned normally, then check access with your child seats installed. Leave the third row upright when checking luggage room if your family will use it regularly. Seating capacity and maximum folded cargo volume do not answer the same question.
Technology and safety
The Canadian Denali equipment list includes a 15-inch head-up display. Super Cruise is optional on this trim. Denali technology options.
GMC introduced the 16.8-inch vertical infotainment screen with the 2025 refresh. For connected features, confirm phone compatibility and which services require an active plan before counting them as continuing ownership benefits. Canadian 2025 technology update.
An equipped Super Cruise vehicle still needs a compatible road, an active trial or paid subscription and an attentive driver. The launch trial runs from delivery, not from each subsequent used purchase. It does not replace the driver’s responsibility to control the vehicle. Super Cruise terms and limitations.

What should you compare against Denali?
AT4 is a useful alternative if its terrain-oriented equipment matters more to you than Denali’s standard head-up display and larger base engine. Elevation makes sense to price if you need the body and only selected options. AT4 Ultimate is another alternative, but its added equipment should fit your needs rather than simply being treated as an upgrade everyone requires.
