The 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV 3LT is the comfort-focused step up from 2LT. Its appeal is the extra cabin equipment rather than a different model-year powertrain. It should also be kept separate from the gasoline Equinox: the shared name does not make the engines, infotainment or equipment interchangeable.

Models available
Chevrolet’s finalized Canadian 2024 pricing lists 2LT, 2RS, 3LT and 3RS. The LT and RS branches offer different styling directions; choosing 3LT does not automatically select AWD. When comparing listings, confirm both the equipment group and the drive configuration.
Electric powertrain
For 2024, GM lists 213 hp and 236 lb-ft for the single-motor FWD system, or 288 hp and 333 lb-ft for dual-motor eAWD. These exact-year figures should not be replaced with later Equinox EV output. GM July 2024 technical overview.
Decide whether AWD is a priority independently of the trim equipment. A 3LT can be selected for its comfort features without assuming its drivetrain, and a lower trim may have AWD. Neither a dealer photo nor a generic EV description is a substitute for the build information.
Range and charging
| 2024 drive configuration | GM-estimated full-charge range |
|---|---|
| FWD | 513 km |
| eAWD | 459 km |
These Canadian published estimates are not range measured in the video. Weather, load, speed and battery condition affect actual distance. Chevrolet Canada 2024 range specifications.
GM lists 11.5-kW AC charging capability and DC fast charging up to 150 kW. The AC figure is the vehicle capability, not a guarantee that the portable cord or your home circuit supplies that much. DC speed also varies with the battery’s charge level, temperature and the station. GM charging specifications and limitations.
For everyday use, start with your parking situation. Work out whether reliable overnight charging is available, what installation is needed and what electricity costs on your plan. If public charging is the main option, check station availability and pricing on the routes you actually use before budgeting around home-electricity rates.
Interior and 3LT upgrades
Compared with 2LT, 3LT adds front-seat ventilation, heated rear outboard seats, dual-zone climate control and heated wiper park. It also has 21-inch machined wheels rather than the 2LT’s 19-inch wheels. A panoramic sunroof remains available equipment, not something to assume from the trim. Canadian trim-by-trim equipment.
Consider how often those additions will be used. Rear-seat heating may matter to passengers in winter, while front ventilation serves a different need in summer. Larger wheels also deserve a tire-replacement quote before purchase; appearance alone does not establish lower running costs or better ride comfort.
Infotainment
The 2024 Equinox EV uses a 17.7-inch screen with Google built-in. GM’s technical publication explicitly says factory Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are not available. Google built-in is not the same thing as projecting your phone’s interface. GM infotainment overview.
Try your navigation, calling and music routine before deciding. Check account sign-in, included connected-service periods and the functions that need a paid plan. On a used example, also confirm that the previous owner’s accounts have been removed and that the vehicle can be linked to yours.
Safety and driver assistance
Adaptive cruise and HD Surround Vision are standard in the Canadian 3LT equipment list. Super Cruise is optional and requires a properly equipped vehicle, an active service plan and compatible roads; it does not remove the driver’s duty to pay attention. Canadian safety equipment and limitations.
Recall check: Transport Canada recall 2025510 covers certain 2024 Equinox EVs with pedestrian-warning software that may not produce the required low-speed sound. Check the VIN and repair status with Chevrolet. The remedy is a body-control software update, delivered over the air to eligible vehicles or performed by a GM dealer.
Canadian trim comparison
These are Chevrolet Canada’s finalized 2024 FWD base MSRPs, checked October 29, 2026. All rows use FWD so trim cost is not mixed with an AWD surcharge. Freight, other fees, options and taxes are excluded. Historical incentives are not deducted, and these are not current inventory offers or the filmed vehicle’s price.
| 2024 Equinox EV FWD | Base MSRP | Difference from 3LT | What the choice changes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2LT | $48,199 | −$2,700 | Heated front seats and 19-inch wheels |
| 2RS | $49,999 | −$900 | RS styling direction with 21-inch wheels |
| 3LT | $50,899 | Reference | Ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, dual-zone climate and 21-inch machined wheels |
| 3RS | $52,399 | +$1,500 | Upper-trim seat/climate equipment with RS styling and 21-inch black wheels |

Is 3LT the useful upgrade?
The clearest reason to choose 3LT over 2LT is that you want its additional comfort equipment. If the basic heated front seats and other essentials already meet your needs, the lower trim deserves a comparison. If you prefer the RS appearance, compare 3RS without assuming it brings a new powertrain simply because its base price is higher.
