The 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV RS AWD is worth separating carefully from both the gasoline Blazer RS and the electric RS with rear-wheel drive. They share naming cues, but they are not interchangeable when comparing range, powertrain or price. This guide focuses on the Canadian electric RS AWD.

The useful Canadian 2024 comparison is 2LT AWD, RS AWD and RS RWD. The RWD RS is a different powertrain choice, not simply an AWD vehicle with one feature deleted. Early launch announcements described additional versions and projected figures; the historical Canadian comparison here uses the production-era 2024 listings instead.
Electric powertrain
The 2024 RS AWD uses two electric motors, as listed in Groupe Simpson’s Canadian RS equipment catalogue. A Canadian dealer’s exact-year RS eAWD listing specifies 288 hp. These figures refer to the 2024 model rather than later model years. Canadian 2024 RS equipment · Canadian 2024 RS eAWD power specification.
AWD, range and acceleration should be treated as separate buying questions. More driven wheels do not automatically mean a longer range, and the RS badge does not make this the high-performance SS.
Range and charging
The Canadian 2024 reference lists 449 km for both AWD trims and 515 km for RS RWD. A Canadian Chevrolet dealer’s 2024 RS eAWD specifications also list an estimated 449-km range. These are full-charge reference figures, not a promise for winter highway travel. Canadian 2024 model/range reference · Canadian RS AWD range specification.
Plan regular trips with charging stops and a reserve, rather than using the full advertised range between chargers. Temperature, speed, load and battery condition affect the distance available. For a used vehicle, inspect battery-related service records and verify the remaining warranty by VIN instead of treating original coverage as newly restarted.
Before buying, establish where you will charge overnight and get a suitable installation assessment. The car’s AC capability, the supplied portable cord and the home circuit are separate limits. For public charging, check compatible stations on your actual routes and test a charging session; a station’s headline power is not a constant rate throughout the battery’s charge.
Interior and RS equipment
The Canadian RS listing specifies 21-inch machined-face wheels with black pockets, a grille light bar and animated exterior lighting. The cabin uses perforated suede/Evotex trim rather than a blanket claim of leather everywhere. These details distinguish the RS presentation, but the exact convenience options still need to be checked on the car you are buying. Canadian 2024 RS equipment listing.
Infotainment
The Canadian 2024 RS equipment catalogue lists a 17.7-inch central display and an 11-inch driver display, both measured diagonally. It also identifies Google built-in compatibility and Google Automotive Services capability; connected services may require a service plan and are subject to terms and limitations. Check navigation, phone pairing, audio, cameras and user profiles on the actual vehicle. Ask the seller to demonstrate which functions work without a paid data plan and which subscriptions transfer. Do not infer smartphone-projection support from the gasoline Blazer or assume that a general dealer feature label means every phone app appears on the screen.
Safety and driver assistance
The Canadian RS equipment catalogue lists Chevrolet Safety Assist, adaptive cruise control and HD Surround Vision, alongside the Convenience and Driver Confidence package. Confirm the fitted equipment and its operation rather than treating a listing as the final build sheet. Assistance systems still require an attentive driver. Canadian RS equipment reference.
Check parking-brake recalls before buying: Transport Canada recall 2025351 covers certain 2024–2025 Blazer EVs whose parking-brake wiring can deteriorate. The brake may fail to hold a parked vehicle or engage unexpectedly while driving. A dealer must inspect and reroute or replace the affected harness. Follow-up recall 2026020 requires a second repair, including replacement of the wiring harness on certain vehicles whose earlier repair was incorrect. Ask Chevrolet to check the VIN and confirm completion of every applicable recall; an older repair receipt alone does not establish that all work is complete.
Canadian trim comparison
The table uses Canadian base MSRPs from the April 29, 2024 CleanBC model list, checked October 29, 2026. Prices exclude freight, dealer charges, options and taxes; no historical rebate is deducted or represented as available today. These are consistent historical reference prices, not current used-car values.
| 2024 Blazer EV | Base MSRP | Difference from RS AWD | Main distinction |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2LT AWD | $56,999 | −$7,000 | 17.7-inch centre screen and AWD; 449-km listed range |
| RS AWD | $63,999 | Reference | 21-inch wheels, illuminated grille bar and suede/Evotex cabin; AWD and 449-km listed range |
| RS RWD | $63,999 | $0 | RS styling with rear-wheel drive; 515-km listed range |

Is the RS AWD worth choosing?
At the historical base prices, the RS premium over 2LT AWD was about equipment and presentation, not a higher listed range. For a purchase today, compare actual condition, fitted options, service history and written quotes. A less expensive trim in better condition may be a more useful choice than a higher trim carrying an attractive discount from its original price.
