2023 Nissan Ariya Evolve+: Features & Canadian Buying Guide

The 2023 Nissan Ariya Evolve+ makes more sense when its name is read carefully. In the Canadian launch lineup, the plus sign identifies a larger-battery version; it does not automatically mean all-wheel drive. Compare battery, drive layout and equipment together before judging a listing by its badge.

Battery and drivetrain

Canada’s 2023 Evolve+ is front-wheel drive with an 87-kWh usable battery and a 178-kW motor rated at 238 hp and 221 lb-ft. Evolve e-4ORCE is a different AWD grade with the smaller 63-kWh battery. Nissan Canada’s 2023 brochure.

Interior and technology

Relative to Venture+, Evolve+ adds a head-up display, surround-view monitor, panoramic moonroof, power liftgate, sliding centre console and Bose audio. Platinum+ adds AWD and further equipment, including cooled front seats and parking assistance. Canadian trim chart.

Range and charging planning

The Canadian brochure lists up to 465 km for Evolve+ and 490 km for Venture+. Those are published model figures, not a guarantee for a used battery or a winter journey. 2023 Canadian range table.

Plan around your typical trip, not only the longest advertised range. Check charging access at home or work and identify compatible public stops for longer routes. Leave a reserve for cold weather, detours and occupied chargers. Ask for battery-condition information and verify outstanding software updates or recalls before purchase.

Have an electrician assess the proposed home installation rather than assuming an existing outlet is suitable. Include installation and electricity charges in the ownership budget. At public sites, compare the billing method and parking or idle fees as well as the advertised charging speed.

Which Ariya makes sense?

Evolve+ is a choice for additional cabin equipment without moving to AWD. Venture+ is worth comparing if you prefer a simpler equipment package, while an AWD grade addresses a different priority. Compare actual listings with similar age, kilometres, battery condition and charging accessories.
