V8 power and four-wheel drive

The 392 uses Selec-Trac with a 2.72:1 low-range ratio, rather than simply inheriting the regular Rubicon’s 4.0:1 Rock-Trac specification. Canadian transfer-case specification. Axle ratio and low-range ratio are different measurements; neither should be substituted for the other in a comparison.
Xtreme Recon versus standard 392
The Canadian brochure lists the regular 392 with 33-inch tires and a 3.73 axle ratio. Its optional Xtreme Recon package includes 35-inch tires, 17-inch bronze beadlock-capable wheels, revised suspension, flare extensions and spare-tire provisions, with a 4.56 axle ratio as specified by the package. That is why a broad statement that every 392 Xtreme Recon has the standard 392 FOX shocks would be inappropriate. Inspect the actual hardware, especially on a vehicle that has been modified.
Cabin, roof and everyday use
Check the installed roof, seating, driver-assistance equipment and screen before comparing prices. The Canadian brochure separates trim equipment from optional groups. A vehicle with Xtreme Recon should not automatically be described as having every comfort or safety option.
Loading, towing and operating costs
Use the correct four-door model and installed equipment when checking towing and payload information. The manufacturer’s Canadian specifications separate two-door and four-door versions and also treat the V8 powertrain separately. A larger tire package is not permission to increase the vehicle’s loading limits.
For fuel use, consult the 2023 Canadian consumption guide and match the engine, transmission and tire package. An ordinary Rubicon rating should not automatically be treated as an Xtreme Recon rating.
