2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport Comfortline

Here is the review of this new 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport Comfortline! The sportier two-row version of the conventional three-row VW Atlas is the Atlas Cross Sport. The Cross Sport costs slightly less than its three-row brother and makes much less compromises than some of the “coupe-like” luxury SUVs that remove the rear roofline and price more to achieve less back headroom and storage space. The Cross Sport continues to be a useful SUV for individuals who don’t require a third row, rather than attempting to pass as a sportier model.

2020 saw the Cross Sport enter the Atlas portfolio, and because of its cozy interior and smooth ride, it was competitive in its class. A new, more potent four-cylinder engine replaces the old six-cylinder this year, coupled with a slight aesthetic update. Additionally, a few previously optional features—such as ventilated front seats, three-zone climate control, and adaptive cruise control—are now standard on the 2024 model.

Infotainment and Connectivity

There is a trade-off as a result of the switch to a larger 12-inch infotainment touchscreen across the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport family from last year’s smaller screens. The knobs and buttons from the old infotainment system have been swapped out for touch-sensitive sliders, which ruins the interface. The new controls are challenging to perceive, and utilizing them demands much greater caution. They are therefore more annoying as a result.

The infotainment system has the advantage of being well-organized, with logical menus and quick answers. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto’s wireless versions offer a more recognizable user interface and work well with the typical wireless charging pad.

In the two-row SUV market, the Atlas Cross Sport is a strong competitor to the well-liked Honda Passport. The Jeep Grand Cherokee stands out because of its enhanced off-road capability and plug-in hybrid model. The smaller Toyota Venza likewise outperforms the competitors handily thanks to its hybrid efficiency. Despite the fact that each of these competitors has unique advantages, the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport stands out as a well-rounded option that gets the majority of the fundamentals right.

Engine and Performance

The Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport in 2024 only has one engine option. The four-cylinder turbocharged engine has 269 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. This output is comparable to the previously available V6 engine and stronger than the four-cylinder from last year. According to Volkswagen, the Atlas’s new four-cylinder engine would accelerate more quickly than the vehicle’s previous V6 engine.
