The 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Lariat combines an electric pickup layout with a more comfort-focused cabin than XLT. The first decision, however, should be the battery configuration—not the leather seats. Two Lariat trucks can offer different range and equipment, so the trim name alone is not enough to compare them.
Watch our 2023 Lightning Lariat video below. The Canadian lineup offers Standard Range and Extended Range configurations, with different battery capacities and equipment groups.

Battery, motors and equipment groups
Ford Canada’s 2023 guide separates Lariat 510A with 98 kWh usable capacity from Lariat 511A with 131 kWh usable capacity. Both use dual electric motors and a single-speed transmission. Canadian 2023 Lightning order guide.
Carleton Ford’s exact-year Canadian information quotes 452 horsepower for Standard Range and 580 for Extended Range, with 775 lb-ft in either case. These are manufacturer-rated peak outputs. Canadian powertrain reference.
What Lariat adds over XLT
The Canadian guide lists leather-trimmed heated and ventilated front seats, SYNC 4A, wireless phone integration and a B&O audio system for Lariat. The 511A group also includes items such as a twin-panel moonroof and heated rear seats. Lariat equipment groups.
Separate the features you want from the range you need. If you mainly want the upgraded seats, do not assume that every appealing Lariat listing contains the larger battery. Conversely, if long-distance flexibility is your priority, compare an Extended Range XLT before paying for cabin extras.
Canadian range and energy consumption
| 2023 configuration | Combined kWh/100 km | NRCan range |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Range | 30.6 | 386 km |
| Extended Range, non-Platinum | 29.8 | 515 km |

Charging and power planning
The Canadian guide lists 9.6 kW Pro Power Onboard for Lariat. Its outlets should not be confused with an automatically installed whole-home backup system. Confirm the equipment, installation requirements and operating instructions for the use you intend. Canadian power-outlet specification.
Towing equipment and factory removals
Tow Technology and Max Trailer Tow are different packages. The 2023 Canadian guide also marks On-Board Scales and Smart Hitch unavailable with required removal in the relevant package. Do not promise either feature from the package name alone. Package conditions and removal note.
For a trailer purchase, verify the exact truck’s towing and payload limits and plan charging with the trailer attached. The usable charging layout matters as much as the presence of a charger on a map.
Canadian trim comparison and historical pricing
Checked October 29, 2026. The following historical Canadian base-price references reflect the reduced-price era of the 2023 model, not initial launch prices or current offers. CarCostCanada’s catalogue is corroborated by contemporary Canadian price-cut reporting. Freight of $2,295 is listed separately; taxes, licensing, dealer charges and options are extra.
| 2023 Lightning configuration | CAD base reference | Difference from Lariat SR | What to weigh |
|---|---|---|---|
| XLT Standard Range | $69,000 | Save $11,000 | Cloth seating; lower entry price |
| Lariat Standard Range | $80,000 | Reference | Leather-trimmed ventilated seating and upgraded cabin technology |
| Platinum Extended Range | $115,000 | Add $35,000 | 131-kWh battery, 18-speaker B&O and Max Trailer Tow; separate 483-km NRCan range |

Buying verdict
Lightning Lariat makes the most sense when its comfort equipment and your charging arrangements both fit your life. Confirm the battery first, then compare the complete cost against XLT. A lower advertised price is not necessarily the better deal if it represents a different battery or lacks equipment you need.
