For the comparison here, the relevant 2025 choices are Denali Extended Range and Denali Max Range. Do not substitute specifications or prices from a newer Sierra EV, a gasoline Sierra 1500 or a Sierra HD. Each uses a different configuration and shopping comparison.
Electric power and range
GMC Canada rates Max Range at up to 760 hp and 785 lb-ft in Max Power mode. Its Canadian launch estimate is up to 740 km on a full charge, versus up to 628 km for Extended Range. These are manufacturer estimates, not guaranteed distances. Canadian 2025 launch specifications.
The estimated difference is 112 km. That calculation is useful for comparing versions on paper, but it is not a promise of 112 additional kilometres in every situation. Leave a reserve when planning trips and assess the charging stops you can reliably use, especially when travelling with cargo or a trailer.
Charging
The launch release specifies 800-volt DC charging capability at up to 350 kW, with up to an estimated 160 km added in as little as ten minutes under suitable conditions. Charger output, battery temperature and starting charge affect the result; the maximum is not a constant charging speed. Charging conditions and limitations.
Before buying, establish where charging will happen overnight and on your regular longer routes. Ask an electrician about a suitable home installation rather than assuming an existing outlet meets the requirement. For public charging, look beyond a station’s headline power: access, reliability and whether you must unhitch matter to a pickup owner.
Towing and load carrying
GMC’s archived Canadian page lists up to 10,000 lb (4,535 kg) trailering for Max Range. The 10,500-lb figure belongs to Extended Range, not this version. Actual limits depend on the truck and its load; consult its labels and trailering documentation. 2025 Canadian capability reference.
This is a useful reminder that the larger range figure does not automatically mean the larger towing rating. Check passengers, accessories, cargo and trailer tongue weight together. Avoid choosing between the two batteries solely from either maximum number.
Interior, cargo and technology
GMC lists a 16.8-inch centre screen, fixed panoramic glass roof, four-wheel steering and adaptive air suspension. The MidGate extends load length to 10 feet 10 inches with the required rear-seat, glass and load-stop arrangement; the front eTrunk provides 311 litres of storage. Driver assistance
The Canadian page describes Super Cruise as available, with a three-year trial. Confirm installation and remaining service access on the individual truck. Hands-free capability is not permission to stop supervising the road. Super Cruise availability.
