The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV 2RS AWD brings a sportier appearance to Chevrolet’s electric compact SUV, with larger wheels and additional convenience equipment. The main decision is whether those RS additions and all-wheel drive are worth the step up when the LT already includes much of the everyday screen and comfort equipment.

Models available
LT and RS are offered with front-wheel drive, with dual-motor all-wheel drive available. Choose the drivetrain separately from the equipment level: adding AWD does not automatically add the upper convenience and driver-assistance packages. Chevrolet Canada’s 2025 trim comparison.
The 2RS AWD combines the RS appearance treatment with all-wheel drive. Optional packages can change its comfort and driver-assistance equipment; the equipment comparison below is not a specification of every option installed on the reviewed vehicle.
Electric powertrain and range
For the AWD configuration with the 11.5-kW onboard charger, Natural Resources Canada rates the 2025 Equinox EV at 494 km of range. Energy consumption is 18.8 kWh/100 km city, 22.1 highway and 20.3 combined. FWD is listed at 513 km and 19.4 kWh/100 km combined. Official 2025 Fuel Consumption Guide.
There is also a separate AWD entry with a 19.2-kW charger: 463 km and 21.9 kWh/100 km combined. That is why the charging configuration needs to be identified before quoting a range number. None of these ratings is a measured winter-range result from this walkaround.
At 20,000 km annually, the 20.3-kWh/100-km combined rating represents about 4,060 kWh. At an illustrative electricity price of $0.15 per kWh, that is $609. Actual charging costs depend on your tariff, driving conditions and public-charging use; use your own costs rather than treating this example as a bill forecast.
Charging
The standard Canadian configuration lists an 11.5-kW onboard AC charger. The dual-level portable cord is rated for up to 7.7 kW at 240 volts, so its rating and the vehicle’s maximum AC intake are not interchangeable. Suitable installed charging equipment and electrical capacity are needed to make use of a higher rate. Canadian 2025 charging equipment.
Interior and everyday practicality
The Canadian RS catalog includes heated front seats, a heated flat-bottom steering wheel, a power driver’s seat and an AutoSense power liftgate. RS also brings 21-inch black wheels, compared with the LT’s 19-inch wheels. Canadian 2025 RS equipment catalog.
Ventilated front seats, extra rear-seat comfort and other luxury conveniences should be checked against the individual option list. Do not assume an RS badge means every feature shown in an equipped dealer vehicle is standard.
Infotainment and connectivity
The LT already includes a 17.7-inch central display, an 11-inch driver display and six-speaker audio in the Canadian manufacturer listing. Moving to RS therefore should not be justified simply as the only way to get the large centre screen. Google built-in capability and connected services have their own account and service requirements. Canadian display and equipment specification.
Safety and driver assistance
Adaptive cruise control and HD Surround Vision appear in the Canadian baseline equipment. Super Cruise and enhanced automatic parking are associated with an additional safety package rather than being established as standard RS equipment. Canadian 2025 safety-package listing.
Check the build sheet and have the dealer demonstrate the installed features. A package listing for an LT configuration does not establish the option price on RS. Driver assistance still requires supervision and has operating limitations.
Pricing in CAD
Current Canadian manufacturer pricing for these exact 2025 configurations has not been verified as of October 31, 2026. Vehicle prices and price differences are therefore omitted; the chart compares equipment, not current purchase costs.
| 2025 Canadian trim | What the choice adds |
|---|---|
| LT FWD | 19-inch wheels, heated front seats and steering wheel, large central display and core driver assistance. |
| RS FWD | 21-inch black wheels, RS appearance, flat-bottom heated wheel and AutoSense liftgate. |
Use the Chevrolet Canada 2025 configurator to check the exact drivetrain, equipment and fee basis. A current price was not recoverable from that page for this comparison; a later model-year figure is not substituted.
Price AWD separately from trim and convenience equipment. A quote for a differently equipped vehicle or a different province is not a matched comparison of the two configurations.
Competition and choosing a trim
Start with LT if its existing screens, heated features and safety equipment cover your needs. RS makes more sense when the appearance, wheel package and liftgate are features you actually want. Price AWD separately and compare the entire option list before deciding whether a particular RS is good value.
The Hyundai IONIQ 5, Kia EV6 and Ford Mustang Mach-E are other electric-SUV directions to consider. Compare exact model years, drivetrain, charging access and usable cabin space. This review does not provide measured ride or handling comparisons, so include a test drive in the decision.
Frequently asked questions
Is 513 km the AWD range?
No. The cited 2025 Canadian guide assigns 513 km to FWD and 494 km to AWD with the 11.5-kW charger. The separate 19.2-kW AWD entry is rated differently.
Does RS automatically include Super Cruise?
Do not assume it is standard on every RS. Check the additional safety package and the specific vehicle’s build sheet, including service and trial terms.
Does AWD include all the convenience upgrades?
No. Drivetrain and equipment packages are separate choices. Compare the installed options rather than inferring them from AWD or the RS badge.
