The 2025 Ford F-350 Platinum puts a more complete luxury and towing-technology package around Ford’s heavy-duty pickup. Leather seating, adaptive cruise control, a head-up display and power-deployable running boards distinguish it from a simpler work specification. The engine is still a separate decision: Platinum does not automatically mean diesel.
This guide accompanies our 2025 F-350 Platinum video and explains the Canadian trim, powertrain choices and original pricing. The published video description does not identify the engine or full chassis configuration, so the specifications below separate standard equipment from available upgrades.

Models available
The F-350 range includes XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum. Cab, box and single- or dual-rear-wheel availability depend on the configuration. Those choices deserve attention before trim: a shorter single-rear-wheel pickup and a long-box dually can serve very different jobs even when they share a Platinum badge.
Platinum Plus is an optional package within Platinum, not evidence that every Platinum has its special interior and equipment. Its Smoked Truffle treatment, premium leather detailing, twin-panel moonroof and 2-kW Pro Power Onboard make it a separate specification to check on the original build sheet. Ford Canada’s 2025 Platinum equipment page.
Engine and transmission
The standard F-350 Platinum engine is the 7.3-litre gasoline V8, rated at 430 horsepower and 485 lb-ft of torque. Two optional 6.7-litre Power Stroke diesels are offered: the regular-output engine makes 475 hp and 1,050 lb-ft, while the high-output version delivers 500 hp and 1,200 lb-ft. All use a TorqShift ten-speed automatic. Ford Canada’s 2025 Super Duty guide.
That difference is large enough to change the buying calculation. A diesel adds initial cost and brings its own fuel and maintenance requirements; the higher torque figure alone does not tell you the legal or practical trailer limit. Start with the load and annual use, then choose the engine and axle combination that supports it.
Towing and load limits
There is no single towing number for “F-350 Platinum.” Ford’s tables distinguish engine, axle ratio, wheelbase, rear-wheel arrangement and hitch type. Conventional towing, fifth-wheel towing and gooseneck towing are different columns. A maximum advertised elsewhere in the Super Duty range should not be transferred to this truck.
Platinum includes useful tools for the job: Pro Trailer Backup Assist, Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and Onboard Scales with Smart Hitch are standard in Ford’s Canadian equipment matrix. A 360-degree camera is included too. These systems help with positioning and load awareness, but they do not increase the certified limits or replace checking the hitch connection.
Before buying for a trailer, compare its fully loaded weight and pin or tongue load with the actual truck’s loading label, axle ratings, receiver rating and Ford’s matching towing table. Passengers, bed cargo and accessories all use capacity. A fifth-wheel preparation package is a distinct build item, not something to infer from the trim badge.
Fuel economy
There is no applicable 2025 NRCan city, highway or combined consumption rating to quote for this heavy-duty pickup. The government guide excludes pickups over 3,856 kg GVWR with a bed at least 183 cm long, and the Canadian F-350 factory labels state that L/100 km is not applicable. 2025 Fuel Consumption Guide.
For ownership budgeting, use fuel records from a closely matched engine and towing duty rather than an F-150 rating. A truck pulling a large trailer, idling at a job site or making short winter trips needs a different allowance from one travelling unloaded on the highway.
Interior, seating and everyday use
Platinum’s leather-trimmed front seats are heated and ventilated, with memory adjustment for the driver. The heated steering wheel and memory power-adjustable pedals help accommodate different drivers. Multi-contour front seats and the higher-level audio system are part of its move beyond Lariat, rather than a change to the underlying truck’s work role.
Power-deployable running boards are useful to assess in person: check their operation, clearance and condition on a used example. The same visit is a good time to try the driving position with work footwear and ensure rear passengers can enter comfortably. These are large pickups, so test the parking space you actually use instead of relying on how the truck looks in an open lot.
A moonroof is not standard on an ordinary Platinum. The January 2025 Canadian reference label lists it at $1,750 and 2-kW Pro Power Onboard at $1,300. That onboard power option is for compatible electrical equipment; it is separate from the truck’s engine output. Original Canadian Platinum label.
Infotainment and connectivity
The cabin combines a 12-inch digital instrument display with a 12-inch SYNC 4 touchscreen. Platinum includes B&O Unleashed audio with 14 speakers, a wireless charging pad and a head-up display. The distinction from Lariat is the equipment surrounding the screen, not simply a larger centre display.
Check phone pairing, audio, cameras and the charging pad during a purchase inspection. Connected services and subscription trials should be checked separately, especially when buying a 2025 truck after its original delivery date. A feature appearing on the factory label does not establish that a paid connected service remains active.
Safety and driver assistance
Standard Platinum equipment includes adaptive cruise control, blind-spot information with cross-traffic alert, a 360-degree camera and LED projector headlamps. Ford’s Canadian towing matrix also lists lane-keeping assistance and trailer guidance among its upper-trim equipment. These systems support an attentive driver; towing still requires appropriate mirror use and clearance checks.
On a used truck, inspect modifications as carefully as luxury features. Changes to tires, suspension or towing hardware need to be understood before relying on factory load information. Confirm the actual tire ratings and equipment rather than assuming an expensive appearance package improves towing capability.
2025 Canadian trim comparison and pricing
These original Canadian Ford labels were checked on October 28, 2026. Each reference truck is a 2025 F-350 Crew Cab 4×4 with single rear wheels, a 160-inch nominal wheelbase and 6¾-foot box. The base prices exclude the diesel engine options fitted to these examples, other options, delivery, air-conditioning excise tax and sales taxes. Printed dates differ, so this is a historical comparison—not a same-day quote or current used-truck valuation.
| 2025 F-350 trim | Historical base MSRP (CAD) | Printed label date | Standard equipment and important options |
|---|---|---|---|
| XLT | $77,295 | March 27, 2025 | 6.8L gas V8, cloth seats, 8-inch SYNC 4 screen and rear-view camera. The reference truck’s diesel, heated seats, B&O audio and 360-degree camera are paid upgrades. |
| Lariat | $92,039 | March 12, 2025 | 6.8L gas V8, ActiveX upholstery, heated/ventilated front seats, 12-inch displays and 360-degree camera. Diesel and Lariat Ultimate are additional. |
| Platinum | $104,245 | January 14, 2025 | 7.3L gas V8, leather seating, LED projector headlamps, adaptive cruise and power running boards. Diesel, twin-panel moonroof and Platinum Plus are additional. |
The documented base-price differences are $14,744 from XLT to Lariat and $12,206 from Lariat to Platinum. Each label adds $2,395 destination and delivery plus $100 federal air-conditioning excise tax. An earlier Lariat label, dated January 30, lists $91,039 rather than $92,039: prices changed during the model year, which is why the dates matter. Earlier Canadian Lariat label.
At the documented Platinum base price, adding only delivery and federal air-conditioning excise gives $106,740 before options, other charges and sales taxes. The reference truck’s high-output diesel alone adds $14,975; with its other equipment, that original label totals $125,315. Neither number is an as-tested price for the truck in our video.
Competition and which trim makes sense
An equipped Lariat is the closest internal comparison. It already supplies the large displays, heated and ventilated front seats and surround-view camera. Platinum makes more sense when its leather interior, standard driver-assistance package, power running boards and extra convenience features are items you would otherwise add.
For another model-year perspective, read our 2026 F-350 Platinum review. Our 2026 Ram 3500 Limited Mega Cab review provides a heavy-duty alternative, but its cab and rear-wheel configuration need matching before comparing capability or price. Neither 2026 article replaces the 2025 price records above.
Frequently asked questions
Is the 6.7-litre diesel standard on Platinum?
No. The 2025 F-350 Platinum starts with the 7.3-litre gasoline V8. The standard-output and high-output 6.7-litre diesels are optional.
Does Platinum include a moonroof?
Not by itself. The twin-panel moonroof is optional, and it is included with the separate Platinum Plus package.
What is the towing capacity of the truck in the video?
The published description does not provide enough chassis information to assign an exact rating. Use the actual VIN, load labels and matching 2025 towing table rather than a lineup maximum.
