2026 Ram 1500 Sport: Specs, Features & Pricing

The 2026 Ram 1500 Sport pairs a distinctive exterior with a well-equipped five-seat Crew Cab. A standard-output Hurricane engine, heated front seats, a large digital cluster and surround-view cameras form the core specification. The returning HEMI V8 and optional Sport Level 1 Equipment Group create further choices for buyers.

This guide covers the Sport’s models, engines, towing, fuel economy, interior, infotainment, safety features and CAD pricing. Standard equipment and optional upgrades are identified separately, because a heavily optioned Sport can have a substantially different cabin and price from the base configuration.

Models and body configurations

The Sport sits within a 2026 Ram 1500 range that includes Tradesman, Express, Black Express, Big Horn, Warlock, Rebel, Backcountry, Laramie, Limited, Longhorn, Tungsten and RHO. Some dealer packages appear as additional versions in the configurator. The Sport emphasizes exterior styling and convenience equipment; it has its own equipment list rather than simply borrowing the specification of another trim.

The Sport configurator offers 5-foot-7-inch and 6-foot-4-inch beds. The checked starting configuration uses a Crew Cab, four-wheel drive, the shorter bed and seating for five. Front bucket seats and a full-length console mean there is no centre front seating position in this configuration. Consider overall length and usable bed space when choosing between the box sizes.

2026 Ram 1500 Sport engine specifications

Standard power comes from the 3.0-litre Hurricane Standard-Output twin-turbo inline-six. It produces 420 horsepower and 469 lb-ft of torque and uses an eight-speed automatic transmission. The checked base configuration has a 3.55 rear axle ratio, with a 3.92 ratio available.

A 5.7-litre HEMI V8 with eTorque is available through the 27L Sport powertrain package. Ram publishes 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft for this engine. It also pairs with an eight-speed automatic. The configurator listed the V8 powertrain package at $2,500 above the standard Hurricane package at the pricing check.

The Sport does not use the RHO’s 540-horsepower high-output engine as its standard powertrain. Matching the full engine name to the truck’s order sheet helps avoid mixing specifications. The model comparison lists regular gasoline for the standard-output Hurricane configuration.

Chassis and exterior equipment

The model comparison describes coil springs, heavy-duty gas-pressurized shocks and conventional suspension tuning for the standard Sport. Four-wheel disc brakes, electronic transfer-case selection and stability control are also listed. The base rear differential is distinct from the available anti-spin differential or electronic locker.

Standard tires are 275/55R20 all-season units on 20-inch wheels. The configurator also offers 22-inch wheels with a different tire size. A Sport badge does not establish that a truck has all-terrain tires or the specialized suspension used by Rebel or RHO models.

The steel Sport hood is optional in the checked build; a standard steel hood is selected at no additional charge. Night Edition, trailer tow mirrors and a Bed Utility Group offer other ways to change the truck’s appearance or equipment. Confirm the actual build rather than assuming that promotional photographs show standard items.

Towing and payload

Ram’s 2026 model comparison lists towing of 3,729 kg, approximately 8,220 lb, for its base Sport configuration. It also lists an 812-kg payload figure. These describe a particular engine, axle and body combination. They are not guarantees for every Sport on a dealer lot.

Ram publishes higher towing figures for other properly equipped combinations, but the correct figure depends on the final truck. The optional 3.92 axle, engine selection, equipment and vehicle weight matter. Request a configuration-specific towing calculation instead of applying the overall Ram 1500 maximum.

An integrated trailer-brake controller is a $495 option in the checked configurator. Trailer Tow Group II and Towing Technology Group are available separately. Establish which electrical connections, mirrors and assistance features are included before pairing a truck with a trailer.

Use the door-jamb payload label for the actual vehicle. Occupants, accessories, cargo and trailer tongue weight share that allowance. A trailer combination must satisfy payload, axle, hitch and combined-weight limits as well as the published tow rating.

Fuel economy

Natural Resources Canada’s 2026 guide rates the Ram 1500 4X4 with the 3.0-litre standard-output engine at 13.2 L/100 km city, 9.9 highway and 11.7 combined. The 5.7-litre eTorque 4X4 listing is 14.7 city, 11.6 highway and 13.3 combined. Both entries use regular gasoline.

Those are standardized comparison ratings, not measurements from the review vehicle. Weather, tire specification, idling, cargo and trailer use can change consumption. Check the individual truck’s EnerGuide label before making a fuel-cost comparison.

For a simple budget, 20,000 km at the Hurricane’s combined rating corresponds to about 2,340 litres of fuel. The V8’s combined rating corresponds to about 2,660 litres over the same distance. Multiply by the local fuel price to estimate spending, while allowing for actual use to differ.

Interior and comfort features

Standard seating uses cloth and vinyl bucket seats with heated front cushions. The driver has eight-way power adjustment and two-way power lumbar support. The front passenger seat has manual adjustment in the base specification. Dual-zone automatic climate control, remote start and a heated steering wheel are included.

The steering column adjusts manually for tilt and reach. A split-folding rear bench provides access to additional cabin storage, while the full-length front console separates the front seats. The model comparison lists a conventional auto-dimming rearview mirror, HomeLink and a 120-volt cabin power outlet.

Sport Level 1 upgrades the cabin with leather-faced front buckets, front-seat ventilation, an eight-way power passenger seat, driver memory and heated second-row seats. Its listed features also include memory for adjustable pedals and exterior mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, a security alarm and a power tailgate.

These are optional upgrades. Neither leather upholstery nor ventilated seats should be assumed from the Sport name alone. A truck’s window sticker establishes which seats, package and convenience equipment are installed.

Infotainment and displays

The checked standard configuration includes Uconnect 5 NAV with a 12-inch centre touchscreen. Ram also lists a 12-inch customizable digital instrument cluster and a ten-speaker Alpine audio system. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth and navigation support compatible devices and services.

Sport Level 1 lists a 14.4-inch touchscreen, front passenger interactive display, dual wireless charging pads and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. It also adds smartphone-as-key capability. Those features account for a meaningful portion of the difference between base and upgraded cabins.

Ram’s marketing page uses different rounding for the larger screen, while the equipment group identifies it as 14.4 inches. Use the selected build’s equipment description when comparing vehicles. Hotspot data, connected navigation services and satellite radio have separate activation and subscription terms.

Safety features

The Sport’s model comparison lists forward collision warning with active braking, Active Lane Management, blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control with Stop and Go. Front and rear ParkSense parking sensors and a surround-view camera system are part of the listed standard equipment.

The truck also has front-impact airbags, front seat-mounted side airbags and curtain airbags for both rows, alongside stability control, anti-lock brakes and tire-pressure monitoring. Rear child-safety locks and rear seating restraints support family use.

Ram’s dedicated Sport feature page additionally identifies traffic-sign recognition and drowsy-driver detection among its standard safety features. Confirm the final order sheet and operating manual for the systems on the selected truck. Assistance systems do not increase towing or payload ratings.

2026 Ram 1500 Sport pricing

The Ontario configurator showed a base-price total of $79,490 CAD for the standard Hurricane, short-bed configuration. Ram’s base-price definition includes freight and the federal air-conditioning surcharge, plus applicable levy surcharges. Sales tax and further options are separate.

An $8,250 consumer cash discount reduced the displayed estimated amount to $71,240 CAD. That is a current offer rather than the regular starting total, and it can change. Dealer administration, registration, insurance and other applicable charges may be additional.

Listed choices included Sport Level 1 at $7,595, the V8 powertrain package at $2,500, Night Edition at $1,995, 22-inch wheels at $1,695 and Bed Utility Group at $1,695. Trailer Tow Group II and Towing Technology Group were each listed at $1,495. Some combinations have additional requirements, so review the complete build total.

Competition and choosing the specification

The Chevrolet Silverado RST, GMC Sierra Elevation and Ford F-150 XLT offer relevant comparisons for buyers seeking a full-size pickup with distinctive styling and a broad selection of equipment. Compare equivalent cab, bed, engine, seating and towing configurations rather than only the advertised starting prices.

Within Ram’s range, Rebel adds a different hardware emphasis, while Laramie and the higher luxury trims change the cabin specification. Sport Level 1 can move a Sport’s price closer to those alternatives. The useful decision is whether the selected equipment meets passenger, trailer, storage and budget requirements.
