The 2026 Ram Power Wagon is the 2500 family’s dedicated off-road model, with locking front and rear differentials, an articulating front suspension and a disconnecting front stabilizer bar. Canadian buyers need to distinguish its specific equipment and weight limits from the general Ram Heavy Duty headlines. This guide covers the gasoline 2026 model.

2026 Ram Power Wagon engine and configuration

The Canadian configurator pairs the 6.4-litre HEMI V8 with an eight-speed automatic. Output is 405 hp and 429 lb-ft. The Power Wagon uses four-wheel drive, a Crew Cab and a 6-foot-4-inch bed, with a 4.10 axle ratio shown in the build. Ram Canada explicitly excludes the 2026 Power Wagon from the available Cummins diesel configurations.
Do not apply specifications for a later diesel Power Wagon to this gasoline 2026 truck. The 2500 range also includes Tradesman, Big Horn, Black Express, Warlock, Laramie, Rebel and Limited. Rebel offers a different balance of equipment and load capacity, while Warlock is not a substitute for the Power Wagon’s locking-differential and stabilizer-bar hardware.
Factory hardware and optional winch
Power Wagon includes Tru-Lok front and rear locking differentials, Ram Articulink front suspension and a disconnecting front stabilizer bar. Bilstein dampers, underbody protection and 17-inch wheels with LT285/70R17D all-terrain tires form part of its model-specific specification. These are hardware descriptions, not claims about measured performance in the video.
Check the winch on the order sheet. Ram’s 2026 material describes the 12,000-lb WARN winch as available, and the Canadian configurator lists a front electric winch in the optional Power Wagon Level 1 Equipment Group. A photograph of a truck with a winch does not establish that the base vehicle includes one. A winch’s recovery rating also does not increase trailer towing capacity.
2026 Ram Power Wagon towing and payload
Ram’s Canadian 2026 Heavy Duty chart lists the Power Wagon with an 8,565-lb GVWR, 18,000-lb GCWR, up to 10,530 lb of trailer weight and up to 1,570 lb of payload. The towing figure is approximately 4,776 kg; the payload maximum is approximately 712 kg. These are model-specific chart references rather than the 20,000-lb diesel 2500 headline.
The Canadian configurator showed 3,885 kg (8,565 lb) GVWR selected and also offered another GVWR selection. Ram’s general online model-comparison table displayed different weight values. Because those sources do not align, do not use that table to authorize a heavier load. Obtain the Canadian vehicle’s applicable rating documentation and check its door labels, hitch, axle ratings and loaded weights.
Passengers, accessories, bed cargo and trailer tongue weight share the available payload. A 1,000-lb tongue load can consume much of a 1,570-lb headline allowance before family members or equipment are added. The actual truck may have less payload than the maximum after optional equipment. Choose the trailer using the loaded combination, not its empty weight or the badge on the truck.
Fuel economy and ownership budget
There is no comparable NRCan city/highway/combined consumption rating to quote for this heavy-duty configuration. A Ram 1500 fuel figure is not an appropriate substitute, even though both vehicles can carry a HEMI badge. This post therefore does not invent an L/100 km result or present fuel use from the walkaround as a test.
For budgeting, request records from comparable gasoline Power Wagon configurations and account separately for towing, idling and winter use. Include tires, maintenance and any recovery accessories in the total. Check the owner’s manual for the applicable fuel specification rather than assuming that a premium price trim requires premium gasoline.
2026 Ram Power Wagon interior and seating

The Canadian build lists a cloth heated power front bench as standard. A front bench and rear bench provide six seating positions. Available leather-faced front bucket seats use a centre console and reduce capacity to five. The number of seats therefore depends on the ordered interior, not simply the Crew Cab body.
The Level 1 group adds leather-faced buckets, heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, a heated steering wheel, power front seats and memory functions. It also lists a folding cabin load floor with storage. Confirm the selected equipment group before describing those upgrades as standard on the vehicle in the video.
The cargo bed remains useful for items that do not belong in the cabin, but payload and space are separate constraints. A bed cover, toolbox, recovery equipment and other accessories all add weight. Measure the intended load and check how rear-seat storage and child-seat installation work with the chosen front seating arrangement.

Infotainment and available technology

The Canadian Power Wagon configurator lists Uconnect 5 NAV with a 12-inch centre screen as standard. It shows a larger screen option labelled 14.4 inches, while other Ram 2500 promotional material calls the larger system 14.5 inches. Confirm the ordered system rather than applying one screen size to every Power Wagon.
Uconnect supports compatible Apple CarPlay and Android Auto phone integration. The Level 1 equipment group lists Alpine audio and dual wireless charging. Digital mirror and towing-camera functions are offered through additional packages; wiring for a trailer camera is not the same thing as an installed camera. The available 2.4-kW onboard power system is also an option.

Safety features and optional assistance
Ram Canada lists forward collision warning with active braking and adaptive cruise control as standard on the 2026 2500. These assist within defined conditions and do not make the truck autonomous. Ordinary observation and checking the surroundings remain necessary with a large vehicle or trailer.
The Canadian optional Safety Group includes active lane management, adaptive steering, automatic high beams, drowsy-driver detection, rain-sensing wipers and traffic-sign recognition. Confirm package selection before attributing those systems to the base Power Wagon. Surround-view and trailer-view equipment likewise require a check of the actual build.
2026 Ram Power Wagon pricing in Canada
The Ontario configurator displayed a C$89,785 estimated cash amount for the default gasoline Power Wagon build. Its breakdown showed C$94,290 base price plus C$3,495 for Customer Preferred Package 2UP, less C$8,000 Consumer Cash. The pre-discount total was therefore C$97,785. Sales tax was not selected in that example.
This is a dated configurator example, not a quote for the truck in the video. Level 1 displayed C$6,295 and Level 2 C$11,195 before the effects of other selections. Ask for the full itemized transaction amount and separate incentives from vehicle and package prices, since a discounted “starting at” figure is not the same as undiscounted MSRP.
Competition and choosing the right truck
Compare Ford Super Duty Tremor, Chevrolet Silverado HD ZR2 and GMC Sierra HD AT4X configurations if factory off-road hardware is the priority. Match engine, axle equipment, cab and bed before considering price. Their towing maxima do not establish the rating of an optioned truck on a dealer lot.
Within Ram, compare Rebel or another properly configured 2500 if frequent heavy towing matters more than Power Wagon-specific hardware. Power Wagon’s specification-based appeal is its suspension and axle equipment, with cabin upgrades available. Its lower charted load limits and package-dependent winch deserve attention before choosing a trailer or making the purchase.
Frequently asked questions
Can I order a 2026 Power Wagon with a Cummins diesel?
The Canadian 2026 specification covered here excludes Power Wagon from Cummins availability. It uses the 6.4-litre HEMI gasoline V8; a later model year’s diesel offering should not be substituted.
Does the Power Wagon seat five or six?
The standard front and rear benches provide six seats. Available front bucket seats and a centre console reduce the total to five.
Can the Power Wagon use the Ram 2500 diesel towing maximum?
No. Power Wagon has its own ratings. Ram’s model-specific chart lists up to 10,530 lb of trailer weight and 1,570 lb of payload, with the actual vehicle’s approved labels and documentation taking priority.
