Today I review the 2022 Dodge Durango SRT 392. Dodge capitalizes on the Durango’s key selling point—the attraction of American muscle—by giving it the SRT 392 treatment and fitting a 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 under the hood. The 392 cubic inch engine is what the 392 comes from. It produces 475 horsepower, 470 pound-feet of torque, and a rumbling V-8. The 8-speed automatic and all-wheel drive when combined with the SUV’s powertrain can accelerate it from 0 to 100 km/h in about 4.1 seconds. The Durango SRT 392 can tow up to 8700 pounds and can seat up to seven people, so it’s more than just the muscle.
Although the Durango may not be popular with a wide range of people, its performance and usefulness are undoubtedly noteworthy. Growing families love midsize three-row SUVs, but let’s face it, they’re not that interesting or motivating in general. The 2022 Dodge Durango might be a fascinating choice for those select customers out there willing to shake things up. Imagine it as a great cross between a muscle vehicle and a practical SUV.
